My late husband was 21 years older than me. We married when I was 23. We did have 15 wonderful years together, and to this day he was the only man I have ever dated. To be honest, I have never cared for Thai men at all. So have that in mind, many Thai girls want something different, they want to be shown the world, and shown the life of westerners.
Now, did we have things in common? Yes, we certainly did. We enjoyed each others music (he introduced me to the wonderful music of the 80`s, and much more), and I really enjoyed his taste in movies, TV series and all that. We communicated very well (I do speak several languages), and had the same hobbies (gym, tennis, golf). I know that might not be too common among Thai girls, but this is just an example that we might have more in common with you than many foreigners think. The language barrier might make it difficult though.
So guys, age does not matter, if we talk about a 20-25 years age gap. At least if the girls are closer to 30, than 20. That is my opinion. Many good points there, Tom, but don`t rule out the possibility of having things in common. 40 years age gap, no, there you must be right. But a 20-25 years gap? You might be surprised. Also, if you are not having much in common at the time you start dating, you might get more things in common as the relationship progresses. Just saying 🤗

@@WalkingmanPattaya there's a difference between not changing ones life and compromise. I agree with you that there are times you need to compromise....that doesn't mean you have to change your life. As far as your most foreign men need to change....I couldn't tell you as I have not moved there as of yet.
Personally for me, I have to find compatibility. I lay the ground rules before considering to pursue the relationship. Things like going out in the evenings, travels, drinking & smoking, social life, sex, ect... Compromise needs to take place before committing to a relationship.

I thinks that's a valid point for some & especially a seasoned Pattaya girl for instance but if you move to the villages, there's a chance they never met a foreigner and your chance improve.
Age does matter, money does matter, have kids when meet does matter, did she work in a bar does matter. Its so many things that matter in relationship so 20 year age could be very fine
It’s my personal experience that age gaps of 30+ years don’t usually work. It Definitely helps if you can communicate with each other. Adding money, family, & love complicates things.
Age does matter. What matters more is MONEY. No money, no honey, no nothing. Fools who try to buy love are asking for failure.
I think that could be another video. Being able to differentiate between a transactional relationship and love is key. Thanks for the advice.
Another point. You briefly mentioned it but I have found it true that once the ladies reach age 30, their whole perspective of what men they want changes. Hard to believe that someone 30 and still very attractive now thinks she is over the hill.

Age gap wise, bang on, bar girls are bar girls & most are from Isaan. All this "Thai girls" is a generalisation, Thailand is very very regional, a middle class educated girl from BKK, has a totally different outlook on life to a farm girl from isaan. My Mrs is from Suphanburi, I met her in London, she was on holiday, how many uneducated rural girls could afford to holiday in Europe. She worked in TV & film, not a bar girl. Her brother is a lawyer, her sister a school teacher, never ever has my wife or her family asked me for money & we've been together almost 14 years. Most of the guys married to thai girls in the UK, only know Pattaya, Isaan & maybe Phuket & that's it, their experiences of Thailand are totally different from mine, they also think a Thai girl is a Thai girl, no they are not, its like saying a girl from London is the same as a girl from a fishing village in Cornwall, totally different. Let's stop generalising.
I get your point, though trying to point the difference of people by region would so time consuming. I was talking to a girl 2 nights ago in PinUp on walking street from Saraburi, and I couldn't tell you how many I have met girls from Bangkok in general, I just met 2 from Chonburi as well, last week I remeber talking to a girl from Ranong and another from Chumpon. They all don't come from Issan though I definitely understand many do. My X girlfriend's daughter from northern Thailand just graduated university. She accepted a position with some accounting firm for 15K baht a month here in Pattaya, 2 months later she's working agogo making 200K a month. I also have another friend who travels all over the world. She's from Udon Thani but works as a nurse at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. She even has a 10-year tourist visa for the USA. 4-nights a week she works at XS ago-go on walking street. I could go on but what would be the point? I do appreciate your input though.
Young women like older guys cause they go to bed early, are always good for a hand-out and are too tired to argue.

Good point about age gap! I was married to a filipina That was the same age as me(30 years old when married). It lasted for 20 years until she started going out with her lady friends.They found her a rich guy and she traded me in for money! It was nice that she had friends but some friend are the worst for a marriage. especially if your take your wife back to the states. For me I plan to move to Thailand And find a nice lady in her 40's that enjoys life and happy to be with me.

That's really stretching it. I was married to a woman who was 22, and I was 48. We got along great and were together for 5 years till my work made me move to another state. She stayed with me for 5 years but didn't like the area and we separated and she moved back. We were together a total of 7 years. She wanted a baby also and we got in many fights about that
Personally, I think a 26 year age gap is doable. I question 40+ year age gaps. But heck, If you’re happy then of course that's all that matters.
20yrs old are good for short time max over nite…. They’re some really good 30yrs + Thai ladies if you’re looking to settle down.

G'day. I'm 52. A Pattaya Patriot. Australia is no different. Unless you're a top 5% man, women here only want you for your resources. At least you can find someone young and hot in Thailand. Every man pays for sex. We often just don't know it. Rule of thumb seems to be, half your age plus 7 years. So for me 33 is the minimum age for a companion.

@Margaritas excellent points when addressing age gap. If it's short time, it doesn't really matter but if you plan on being with someone for a longer period, then it's extremely important. For me, short time is anything less than a month.
If I was a 60-year-old guy, communication and care would be very important. The youngest I would consider would be 30, ideally, she would be 35 with no children. Things in common are also very important and so is your space. I like Thai food, so if she likes to cook and eat Thai, perfect. If we can communicate, she should have enough life experience that we can discuss any topic. If she is athletic, we can go swimming together and if she enjoys watching, let's say Thai boxing, we could watch that together, movies, as well. Lot of women are good home makers but also like to travel and make good travel companions. Village girls wouldn't qualify. Maybe a tall order but I want some harmony and mutual respect and if I can't get it, then it couldn't be more permanent. I don't need any drama and the bigger the age gap, the more chance of drama. Obviously, with a significant age gap, it's a tradeoff. You are getting the youth, and she is getting a better way of life. Women in their 30's pretty much know what they want and what they don't want and they can still be very attractive. To find what you are looking for, you have to spend some time in the region and if you are looking for a long term relationship then you have to be extra careful who you let into your space and your life.

23 years in my case. The mother of a friend of my daughter to me: "my god. Your wife could be your daughter! Did you think about it?" My response to her: "Your ex husband was about your age. He could have been your brother. Did you ever think about it?". My wife is 37. I am 20 years older. She is an aduld and we are perfectly fine with eachother. There's an article in a German intellectual newspaper about it - unfortunately in German, but I'll send it to you. Who would not think that someone who fought for their life as a slave for years would become an adult?
My wife then completed all her educational steps with us in Germany and now works as a nurse here. There are very different life trajectories.

@@MargaritasinParadise I really love your videos I see many Americans and British say they spend 2500 US dollars per month but in there budget never are up front about how much a lady and how much for there family and you are correct many lady’s give to there thai boyfriend thanks for your honesty I think a 1000s us is sufficient for a 60 year old plus man rent 8 or 9000 you can even get a serviced apartment 6000 if your single and cook on a big balcony I actually believe these men like to show off
$1000 is a very strict budget without any frills but doable. I have many friends that do it. $1500 allows for medical insurance and some extras. Thanks for your input.

I'm no expert but considering the acquaintances I've made in the last 37 years here, I have so many friends that have long lasting relationships (10-51yrs). Even relationships that have developed through bars and the areas I would never recommended. Happily ever after relationships are not sought after in this type scenario by most YT viewers. Some of the biggest bar owners fall into this category. Talking about mongers in general, I think 80% come here for a non-lasting fling and go home to their wives/girlfriends or whatever. I hear about people getting scammed all the time but it definitely only represents 1% or less of the people that come here.
There are many middle-aged woman with good jobs and a good income who can't find a boyfriend in their social circle, these woman are often a much better option for us than a bar girl.

That does happen, it's not common. I met 2 50+ American women that came here looking for fun relationships. They both had Thai boyfriends that were in their 30's.

To me those stated age gaps of 25 and less years are perfect. I start questioning age gaps of 40-60+ years though. Even then, when a 80 year old guy can get a 20yo girl, I should say good on him. *😀*

That's a goodpoint. 15K is 5K more than minimum wage in Thailand. Throw in accommodation and it really jumps up into a nurses or teacher's salary.

You guys make some interesting points. The first thing to consider is that not all women in Pattaya are working girls. The city has a reputation for this type of lifestyle but, there’s many people here who work what is considered to be normal jobs and plenty more that participate in

That's a fact. I had a girl who worked for me in years past, We always celebrated her 29th birthday every year. I recently noticed her birthday on my calendar. I sent her a message asking if they're will be a party? She sent me a flyer, that read "celebrating Bella's 29th Birthday this Friday". I know many other girls that paint the makeup on to appear younger. Of course, why not? Who doesn't want to appear younger?
