For some people they don't care enough. Like my little brother. I built him a pc and out my old RX 6800XT in it and I show him all these settings he still likes playing on the PS5.
I have friends too who don't care enough to want to game on PC even though I try to show them the benefits of pc gaming.
Its all good at the end of the day. Whatever works for you is the best thing.

It's a psychological issue, some people have that problem. When they are confronted with choice, they'll never make a decision. It must already be hard to decide between Xbox and PlayStation for them
What these Console Fanboys don't understand is that there is a huge difference between PRICE and COST
Price = Money you buy to obtain that product
Cost = Money you spend on the product after owning it
The Price of a PC is high but the overall cost is low and the Price of a Console is Low but the overall Cost is higher than the Price of a PC
I can confirm i assemble and disassemble my PC like it was made of LEGO every time i have to install a game.
The controler argument is so stupid since all controllers are compatible with the PC.
You can also kick steam into big picture mode and it makes it like a console experience with a controller.

I hate the price argument. I don't know anyone that doesn't have a decent desktop or laptop in their house and also have consoles. They could've spent the same amount or even less to buy a pre built or build their own gaming PC as they did to buy the consoles and desktop they have. And there you go you have a beast gaming platform and also something you can do everything else on.

Yeah I own all the consoles and a gaming PC and I really regret buying them now and if you count up all the cost spent on all three consoles I could have a 4090 by now. Consoles and their locked down nature and paid online really do suck

Last Christmas I bought a spare pc so my brother could play games. Here's the specs. 16 GB's of ram, i7-4770K, and a GTX 1660. It play's everything at 1080p 60fps when I tweak the settings. and it barley coast $400.

The real issue I have is that I wanted to buy some new games with the steam sale but my PC case is just not wide enough.

One topic of controllers I think is overlooked is 3rd party adapters, say on Switch. With a converter, I can connect a DS4 to my Switch and use that
Not as straight forward or intuitive as just plugging it into a PC, but a topic I wish was brought up and discussed more, cause it feels like it's handwaved away too often
The "Plug and Play" argument is probably the #1 most dumbest argument I have to say. Consoles today are not Plug and Play anymore (like how every console was before the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation) unless you never connect to the internet. For Console if you connect to the internet,
1. You have to let the console update (firmware) before you can even do anything,
2. Then the game installs on the console even if you have it on disc,
3. Launch the Game then it has to update before you can even play.
For PCs, just the gaming side of the argument, most of the time you only have 1 of the 3 steps that consoles have, Install the game and usually the game updates while its installing so you don't have to wait. but I know it doesn't happen with all games on PC, but you do have updates later on like consoles do.
Consoles you can't skip Console/firmware update, once your Console says there's an update if connected to the net you have to update, PCs you can kinda choose when you want to do that or just ignore it but its not advised to ignore a PC firmware update tho, But you can definitely choose when you want to update you Video drivers tho.
I feel like the majority of console vs PC arguments I have end up becoming mkb vs controller arguments... which is stupid since PC and even most consoles now support both.
The "no elaborate installation process" was one of the reasons I went back to PC.😂 I got frustrated that it seemed like the installations, updates and general sitting around and not playing games was so frequent on the Xbox one. So one day I picked up my not so good 1080i display, and plugged in the old gaming PC I still had in my storage.
i3 2100, gtx550ti (2gb I think), 500gb HDD and 8gb DDR3. Started up the first PC game I bought back in 2011 which was Skyrim (yes launch day Skyrim). And oh so much better it felt! Haven't looked back since.
The old PS2 gets booted up sometimes during parties to play sing it, guitar hero or buzz and the PS3 is just a glorified blu-ray.
And the switch is for family fun time with my son and girlfriend, playing lego-games and Mario kart.
I’ve had 3 ps4’s, 2 Xbox one’s over the years. Now the pc I built for 400-500$ shits on them and was a hell of a lot cheaper overall. I’m glad I switched to pc, I just regret it took so long. The false information out there is really holding people back

Want to add some perspective. My wife had never played a video game when I met her. She was able to pick up mouse/keyboard and play games a lot quicker than a controller. She hates using a controller. I will never again accept the idea of a controller being easy to use after watching my wife struggle with one for years.
P.S. If you find yourself wanting to introduce someone to gaming on a controller, start them off with platformers. "Spyro" or "Crash Bandicoot" are decent for this purpose. "Ratchet & Clank" can make a good intermediate step.
i love booting up my ps4 and getting prompted for a system update that takes 30 minutes to install or else i will not be able to play online, and after that there is a game update which takes 30 minutes to install because it's downloading at 60Mbps when i have 500/500 at home because Sony can't seem to make a console that is capable of downloading at a decent speed
Talk about mental gymnastics. I mean, I'll give the article credit on one thing, at least never once brought up you need to know computer science to know how to use a computer, or let alone demand Microsoft to add a menu so they can access their games on the fly.
My 4 year old daughter and 5 year old son both prefer to play games on their PC rather than on the Xbox BECAUSE they don't like controllers.

Personally I think people are just lazy and that is why a lot of them prefer console because once you game on both they really are in a different league I would still rather own a low speced PC over a console there is just too many benefits going for a PC

Yes of course a controller with a limited amount of buttons is better than a keyboard with far more customisation. And don't even get me started about aiming with a mouse. You're gonna want to move at 2mph while aiming with your analogue stick. This makes console better than PC ... apparently 😁

When I use my rig I only play games that I can use a controller. I never bothered to learn to type since that is secretary shit. But I hate multiplayer, and first person anything so I'm never going to learn to type

lol dual gpus? Dual gpus is literally a detriment now in gaming assuming your hardware is as old or younger than the gtx 900 series. It's been so long that for gaming at least that cross fire/SLI gpus will almost always lose to their direct next gen upgrade (say 970 to 1070). Neither AMD or Nvidia haven't worked on that feature in gaming for long while now since why the drivers barely even support it even more. The only use I know of this tech is for Nvidia workstations for 3d modeling/animating or full on video rendering. I only say Nvidia because they've had an even wider gap in performance than AMDs workstation counterpart for a while now. The switch lite is only $200 brand new but the box series s and the regular switch are $300 and those are the next cheapest I know of. Also technically you could call the steam deck a console by his definition which kind of invalidates his own argument just by it existing. Never mind the sometimes good copy cats of the steam deck as well. Only Xbox has good backwards compatibility now of days since the old games can still run off their discs going all the back to the 360 (I'm not sure about the og xbox) through the proprietary emulator Microsoft built for the xbox one/ xbox series X&S. Also a lot of people I know of got into gaming through internet flash games as well or games like Runescape, Roller coaster tycoon and The Sims. Simulation games and MMOs definitely take up the most keybinds out of any genre and those are a lot people's intro to gaming in my generation (I'm a cusper between millennials and gen z on the millennial side)

I always thought it was weird that people pretend that starting pc gaming is just as simple as console gaming.
Took a week to build my PC.
Took an hour to startup my console.
A week to assemble a pc? Even without having a clue and with the worst youtube tutorial, at most it takes 4 hours (exaggerating a lot)... 1 week for what? Are you counting the delivery time when ordering the parts online? Windows installation takes 20 minutes, build the pc about 4 hours without having a clue, configuring everything about 2 minutes...because it's literally automatic, downloading steam depends on the connection but no more than 10 minutes. Are you counting the time to download games maybe? If you buy a prebuilt it's literally delivery time and turn on the pc... the same as if you buy a console online, and if we compare downloading a game on pc or downloading a 40 gig update on consoles are exactly the same, the consoles stopped the "plug and play" from the ps3 generation. Unless you want to play version 1.0 of the games, which are practically all broken, I don't see how consoles took an hour but pc took 1 fucking week.
