Whats ive noticed as a PC novice (still building one) whose mainly on console ATM, PC players talk more, there are more game options, its free, AND its easier to revive dead but beloved games!
You also choose your own specs, and in general have a far easier time reaching a playable 60 fps
and we're more rational too
The fact that you have to pay to play online multiplayer on console and not PC already makes multiplayer being better on console a losing argument.
They will cope to the ends of the Earth with the """free""" games
Besides being free, it is also better on pc. Switched to pc a month ago and it feels less laggy and i get less disconnects

By nature of being an open platform, PC has better multiplayer capabilities. We can literally take old games and create custom servers, like with Black Ops 2 and Plutonium. I'd like to see console fans do this, but who am I kidding? They only care about their overhyped movie games for five minutes until the next subpar movie game comes out.

Sorry but how the fuck can PC gamers be toxic when there are literal sites dedicated to people sharing their:
- their 100% save files
- cheat engine tables/scripts
- emulators
- roms
- repacks
- FREE MODS
- forms on troubleshooting any/every issue you have no matter your rig specs
- community fixes
And i know for a fact I'm missing a lot of other stuff but this list is already good enough to make the argument that pc gamers actually arent toxic.

Man, I chucked hard on this one... Does he knows message board forums and Steam community exist? Have he ever heard of GameFAQs for instance? The oldest and strongest communities of gamers comes from PC scene, but we'll pretend that wasn't a thing before PSN and imagine that Discord is the only place where PC community lives. And even though I despise Discord as a service, there are also healthy and friendly PC communities out there, and if you find only the toxic ones, it means you were gatekeeped from them (probably not even realising it, writing it off as a toxic behaviour).
I'm fact, every community will be "toxic" towards to you specifically if you're starting to tell them that their thing sucks right off the bat.
PC literally outdoes the consoles in many aspects and I play on Xbox and I'm willing to say it. Also if you can't handle the "Toxicity" on any of the platforms you play there is this magical thing called THE MUTE BUTTON.
If you're looking for a PC, think about buying a pre-built on Credit. You can build credit while paying off your new PC . It made the transition very easy for me a few years ago. If you're sticking with Xbox that's totally fine too!

As someone who played 2 years on console i HATED IT, no one is using their mic and if they do you can tell that they are kids who just want to play for the 2h their mom allowed, rarely using text chat and i mainly played Rainbow 6 Siege which is a game that requires communication,as soon as i switched to PC again after 2 years everyone is using text chat and having a good mic that you can actually understand what they saying, i think that all of these people are kids that hate to communicate with older people in games
His whole argument at the start sounds more like he was the toxic person. People on PC obviously didn't want to play with him because he was an asshole. So he went to console where he fit in more.
And on the part where he ccomplains that "you make a friend on PC and never play with them again." It seems he doesn't quite realize he is the guy he is complaining about. I mean first of all on PC, you're not limited to a small set of games. He seems mad that people on PC want to play more than just the game he plays and so he is mad at them. But he's essentially doing the same thing. If he became friends with anybody back in 2017 and then decided to play on console instead, he's the guy that no longer plays that game.
Also to add to that, the PS3 is almost 20 years old, so it would not surprise me that the few people still playing multiplayer games on there tend to be the same smaller group of people. This guy moves from PC where there is no shortage of choice of which games to play, even multiplayer games, to a console that at the time was over 10 years old and that has a smaller selection of multiplayer games that shrinks over time due to matchmaking servers getting shut down over time. No shit the people who are still playing these games likely ONLY play those games. To me though this doesn't seem like anything resembling an actual friendship or community because when the game matchmaking server goes down, they will leave, possible for another game, possibly gaming in general. Especially since the PS3 was the last Sony gen console that didn't require you to play for online.

Spontaneous conversation happens more easily with it on, but then you get the factor of open mic noises which sucks.
The first thing I do launching any game on PC is seeing if voice chat can be toggled/set to push to talk.

Galaxy S24 sucks because I don't recieve calls from the old contacts any more and no new people sends requests to me either. Also camera sucks, because friends don't call me any more and camera makes me old and unattractive on photos. My iPhone 4 was so much better, because I've been socialising all the time and looked young and fit on photos..
Playing Helldivers 2, I blocked five PS5 players for every one PC player that were acting like assholes. Could have just been my experience, but interactions with console players recently left a bad taste in my mouth.
I have over 500 friends on Xbox, there's no way i can play with them all lol 😂

Sounds to me like his real problem is that having and maintaining friendships in your 20s, 30s, 40s, and so on is not as easy as in your younger years.
Funny things is, when playing Helldivers 2, its almost always the PS5 users that are silent and not using their mics.

Like I expected him to say “online games are easier on console; hence it is better” which could be seen as a positive for more relaxing gameplay; as pc players try harder compared to our console brethren.
I tend to agree with most of your points generally on any video but more people use mics on console than PC because that's the easiest and often the only way to communicate within the game. Typing on a controller is almost impossible to do in a timely manner compared to PC on a text box if the game even offers it. Small point that doesn't really matter too much in the end but I disagree with it. GG will watch more videos

I will say. There is likely a higher percentage of people on the ps5 on mic than on pc. But that's because of the built in mic that the dualsense has, and they likely don't even know they're on mic, so uhhhh... You get annoying background noises because of that. I've dealt with it when playing Helldivers 2 crossplay.

I (through cross-platform games) got the experience that console gamers (especially Playstation users) use their mic way more often than PC users. And I'm sure this has nothing to do with the Playstation controllers mic being turned on by default and many people not knowing they are being recorded into a game...oh wait xD

Dude's been on PC for 7 years and this is what he could come up with.
The reason console gamers play the same game is because they can only have like 3 or 4 games downloaded at once before having to spend more money just to have enough storage for one more AAA game. I know this from personal experience.
I love paying for my internet and paying for a subscription on top of that as well. That's all ready reason why consoles are not better. The only subscription we are paying for on PC is for MMOs
Yeah Multiplayer isn't as big a deal and communities just don't exist like they used to on PC. Ignore the fact that Lethal Company was built to be a multiplayer game and took over as THE GAME for a few months, only to be followed up by Helldivers 2 which also relied on being a team based game with multiple people jumping in on one squad, or TF2 existing, or any other example you could drudge up.
I'm played MP on PC and consoles. People are just as "polite" on both.
I love paying Microsoft Sony and Nintendo for the privilege to play online. Nintendo's P2P service is so good and seamless I love paying for nonexistent servers. 10MB of NES ROMs is one hell of a deal
I'm also very thankful when my console manufacturer kindly gives me permission to play with another platform on cherry picked games!! Console gaming is always superior I hate choices
Y'all complain about paying for online when you'll literally spend 2k on upgrades just so you can keep up with the competition. This is why I don't like PC... you're not on an even playing field as everyone you're playing with or against. You can be capped at 120 fps playing against some dude running at 400fps. Definition of pay to win.
No willingness to create a community, however, WOW and Discord exist!!! Who wants to hear "You suck" by a 12 year old , on a shooter, on a console???
This sounds like a dude who upgraded to pc around one of the generation shifts and then subconsciously think the degradation of video games of recent is only on pc and not everywhere

There’s only one reason to play console multiplayer over PC, mainly because of cheaters. That’s not to say that there are no cheaters on console, but on console most cheaters use a cronus, xim, and whatnot which only allow you to use no recoil scripts and a mouse and keyboard that pretends to be a controller. It’s not as bad as PC as you have the usual Aimbot, and ESP, which is already enough to ruin games, and what’s worse is that for some games, they can go as far as crashing your game or even be able to install malware onto your PC via RCE exploits present in the game. Though to be fair, the same thing can happen to PlayStation consoles if said game has an RCE vulnerability severe enough for this to occur (this does not apply to Xbox, as all their apps run on a sandbox).
With that being said, it’s the main reason as to why I got a PS5, as GTA Online is notorious for having so many script kiddies running mod menus on PC, which is a major issue Rockstar just refuses to resolve, but I just couldn’t put the game down at the time.
Why cant we agree to disagree and just say pc and console both have their pros and cons and it depends on your preference.
Console muliplayer has always been better because:
Pros:
1) It has braindead plug-and-play out of the box instant action which even the most computer illiterate can figure out.
2) Filled with potheads who own consoles but can't afford PCs because they're potheads, who are the best people to hang out with playing video games online (was 20 years ago, still is today).
3) Full of skids stealing their millennial parents credit cards to pay for console internet, who make for easy fodder to get score points.
4) Colourful and cool people.
5) Minimal cheating (with cheating increasingly difficult to pull off because of hardware/server level anti-cheat)
6) Actual nice Dudebros.
7) Large and diverse player base for most games, as opposed to niche communities, which prevents the formation of tribalism or social gatekeeping, making it easier to make friends and jump into games without being fearful that talking over the mic will get you ostracized.
8) No power tripping server admins or clanner c**ts.
Cons:
1) Paid subscriptions.
2) You own nothing, not even your games now.
3) No protection against data collection or the sales of data collected on you.
4) Limited privacy respect by the company, they will not care short of breaking your country's laws.
5) Subject to the service provider's stupid Community Guidelines - LIVE / PSN Network, meaning you can get your account banned for things that even the developers of the games you play on that account won't ban you for.
6) Can't host your own servers. Subject to Peer-to-Peer nonsense, making you vulnerable to DDoS attacks and IP spoofing.
7) Sony's garbage user data protection, or lack thereof, seeing as they get hacked every other year.
8) Subject to Sony's Censorship and Microsoft's Automated Risk Department.

To be fair. I prefer consoles with crossplay off because one, I'm too poor to afford a PC, and b, I'm tired of hearing "waaaaaah aim assist" when you guys can littleraly do everything without flaw.

ah yes multiplayer online gaming is so much better on console besides paying for online, consoles not getting most mmos, game is unplayable when the servers are taken down. Meanwhile pc gamers get free online the most popular mmos, can mod multiplater games, are even bringing back old multiplayer games. Let's use an example socom you cannot play it unless you have a ps2 and if those servers are back up meanwhile pc gamers are emulating the game and actually modding the multipplayer.

Yeah console multiplayer is of course better, you have to pay a monthly subscription for a subpar service even though you already paid the hardware, higher pings, higher latencies, worse performance, worse graphics... I mean what's not to love with console multiplayer?
