I guess I'm one of the odd ones that enjoys gaming in this generation. I feel like taking a 3 year break from all gaming from 2017-2020 helped make everything feel fresh. Also, Microsoft, like other streaming services like the subscription model because it creates a relationship with the customer, instead of just having one transaction. Secondly, monthly concurrent revenue looks good to investors
I've said it SOOOOO many times, why the absolute living hell can't consoles gamers choose graphics settings? Like maybe I don't want 4k raytraced graphics if it means 30 fps
I think these big publicly-traded gaming companies are shitting themselves right now. They are required to have consistent growth but there's not enough new gamers to grow the player base so they resort to scummy practices like micro transactions, deluxe editions with early access and raising the price of their games to artificially increase revenue in the short term. The good thing is they can only do this for so long before their games get so greedy that people refuse to buy them. At which point, their company inevitably collapses in on itself since investors don't want to own shares in a failing business.
This big time. Microsoft is definitely pooping the pants cuz they gotta pay back the shareholders for the 200 billion for activison blizzard and Call of Duty ain’t gone cut it.
COD on gamepass might soften the load but there is no way they’ll be able to pay back all of that money! I can’t really see people buying an Xbox just to play COD on game pass especially if they already have a PS5 or PC
Modern "games" from publicly traded corporations are nothing more than storefronts with attached gameplay loop. Everything is in service to the store, not the game itself.
not paid for a PS subscription for two years now, not buying any shitty skins packs, and never pre-order any game... shit... not having fun playing any games these days.
You would have fun again if you gave Nintendo a chance.Everything is cheaper and user friendly.Customer service is outstanding. There are a ton of games to choose from.
@@DC-ts6og My advice if you want to play games that are more fun is to get a PC and get some cheap indie games on Steam especially if they have Overwhelmingly positive reviews. They are way more fun than 99% of AAA games this gen. Not to mention that they don't usually try to suck your wallet dry. Indies and older games are usually much easier to run too, so you don't even need a very good PC. Most are less than 25 dollars, and even less on sale. I hardly ever pay more than 20 bucks for a game, most I get on sale for $5-10. In fact, I was just having a blast playing a game that I got on sale for $1. (Post Void, if you're curious. Though maybe don't get that game if you have epilepsy, there are a lot of flashing lights in it.)
The cutting price point you made, did work with helldivers 2 and Remnant 2. they were huge on release and a bit after too.. i hope that trend continues. and the fact that games like elden ring and bulder's gate are only 59,99 and those games that release every year have the guts to put their games at 69,99 is crazy to me ... nice video btw👌🏻
PS5 will likely be my last console for gaming in general. The final nail in the coffin would be if companies solely rely on cloud gaming. I can care less about digital games
Yeah. I think PS5 might be my last console as my interest is leaning more towards playing retro games like TMNT, Sonic, and any Sega Genesis classics. I honestly think the last gen console that was fun to me was the PS3/360 era. I'm not a big fan of PS+ service and I just stick to the basic subscription because I tried streaming Arkham Origins and the connection/lag was just awful. Like many people I'm not a fan of $70 - 100+ games. Since 2005, when games were upgraded to HD quality (starting w/the 360) video game prices have steadily increased and A LOT of titles aren't worth the day 1 price tag.
@ViceGoat it's called convenience it's just another way of playing games what's wrong with having options ? Cloud gaming is not really to take over consoles completely but what's wrong with having both ? Do you like lougging your console around with you wherever you go ? I know I don't lol that's why it's nice to have both just saying
My ps4 is collecting dust under my bed (in the drawers underneath). I switched to PC, and I am done with Sony forever. This is coming from a guy who played playstation since the ps1. Sony ain't it anymore. Thinking about selling my psn account, has a lot of games on it gotta be worth quite a bit of money XD

If people are too dumb and pay. Why would they stop uping the price ?? I personnally buy used or older games. If you wait 2 month they are not 70$ anymore.
Nintendo games are different. Mario Odyssey is still a strict $60. They want you to pay $60 for an almost 8 year old game on an underpowered console generations behind. It's literally weaker than people's phones
Corporate greed. Yes, 100% here is why: - Console companies (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft) charge to play online - Console companies charge for games to be on their system - Console companies charge more for controllers - Game studios charge $70.00 for games that put no effort to make a good game - Game studios manipulate the gaming experience to make more money within in game stores - Microsoft charges for game pass, making a lot of money on top of console sales and game sales. - Sony charges for PS+ it used to be free, but then it went to free games with subscription, and then they raised the price twice - Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo also raised their prices for their subscription services. Nintendo is just trying to push for people to pay more for more gaming options.
When they raised the pricing on games and started releasing half finished games with day 1 2 3 & 4 patches is when I started sailing the high seas 🏴☠️
@@ViceGoat thankfully we got some cool indie games to look forward to. Been playing the heck out of Dredge. Fun little game. THAT I do for sure invest money in.

Nintendo is only successful because they make good games, not good consoles, ever wonder why people are so determined to emulate their games but not Sonys? Nintendo games are some of the must haves, Sonys games are pretty good, but nothing you can't find elsewhere, nothing like Mario or zelda. Nintendos consoles are god awful, but not their games

i have 2 gaming pcs, but i mostly use them for music production. last thing i wanna worry is about drivers and updates and all that bs. its nice to come home press the power button and within a min play a game on my tv, and yea i know i can connect my pc to my tv with hdmi.
It's cool to game where you want that's everyone choice but I had to 😅 it's the old work about drivers statement. It isn't that bad to download drivers. What I do like about consoles is what you said hit the power button and play. I was playing1st descendant and it didn't like myanti virus and wouldn't log in so I just switched to the console. I see what your point is but I always laugh when someone says but I hate to download drivers.
People really don’t need to download drivers for their GPU unless the one they have already isn’t stable. I learned that the hard way. But that’s the great thing about console, fully optimized right out the box!
@@OzzyFan80 Yeah I mean it's really not that hard to just hit update on drivers. 90% of the time even on console games need to update and you have to wait for that anyways, so it's not much different than that.
@ainbo9022 I've been gaming for 40 years...who gives a shit about peak eras...kept all my consoles. Won't buy a ps5 pro or ps6 unless Sony starts making games...Xbox is the future as long as Game Pass remains fire with all these bangers of games!
Primarily Nintendo gamer here. The only reason I got a Ps4 is because I kept hearing about all the amazing games that you just couldn't miss out on. This was in 2018, there were still many more "can't miss" games to come. I told myself I'd get a ps5 on the same circumstances: When I kept hearing about "can't miss" games. We're currently what...4 years in? I have YET to catch wind of a generation defining game. I know there's a lot of small factors at play, but the biggest thing has to be game quality. Where is this generations Persona 5? God of war? Horizon Zero Dawn? Bloodborne? Spiderman? And so on. We need good games.
I agree with you , it’s why I’m not waiting around anymore these companies will suck u dry , and keep promising 2-3 years out of… sometimes longer … it’s stupid … I running an Xbox series s to casual game and I’m gonna build another pc in the near future , ps5 shit the bed this gen , I know Xbox hasn’t done much more either … its just sad to see what these two , once great gaming companies have become
Jim Ryan and Sony are the blame for setting the price at the beginning of this generation. PC gaming is where can you actually get the best deals. Console games are expensive ,very expensive. Console gamers have been getting screwed for years. I only paid 70.00 for 2 games and that was Diablo 4 and Star Wars other than that I waited or just didn’t play it. Games pass is pretty good and it's only 10.00 a month. Great video !
At this point, I just wait for the games to go on sale even if their extremely hyped up titles, because the mechanics will stay the same snd it’s just better graphics and some new features
6:57 Because building a PC is a fucking nightmare. I've been trying to upgrade my PC's firmware to install the new CPU, but it won't fucking do it despite the fact I'm doing what I'm supposed to. That could be what stops people from building a PC, just a hunch.
I had a hard time with that as well, turns out I was installing the wrong firmware for my motherboard. Maybe there is a WiFi and non WiFi version of the update depending on your motherboard. I hope that helps!!
In the old days games were made by people who were passionate. Indies still represent this to some degree (but are also so expensive not to be worth it. You'll sell more than double at £12 you will at £25) but big Devs are just corporate and greedy as hell. Its all about making as much as possible not making a historically great game. Games won't even be able to be played on emulation in the future due to everything being live service. Just sell a full game for one price that lasts 8 - 10 hours and is done and over with. You release games that take people's entire life for a year to play and wonder why sales go down?
On Vita when indies were £6, £8 or £12 I bought every game I was interested in. On Switch I almost never bought indies due to the price. At £18 - £26 I bought probably a 50th of the indies I did on Vita, if that.
Now I have a cracked Vita and Android and just enjoy Vita, Vita homebrew ports and emulation. Vita was the last gasp of pre live service gaming. I'm playing a fan translated Uppers right now which is a great game.
I am 39 years old I grew up playing video games and I remember when the PlayStation one came out in 1995 here in America and it kind of made me sad because I was still into the 16 bit era with the super Nintendo and Genesis. I didn’t want that generation to die but I decided to get a PlayStation and it was good and then a few years later, the Dreamcast comes out and they offer online gaming, which kind of made me pissed off because back in the late 90s early 2000s a lot of us didn’t have Internet and even though I had modern consoles, I couldn’t force my parents to get Internet connections, and I realized gaming was catering to more affluent people I seen way back how greedy the video game industry is when games went online. That was the Achilles heel for me as a gamer, even though I eventually started playing online with the 360 and later the PS4, I just didn’t want to spend so much money just to enjoy playing video games when I grew up in a time where all you needed was a TV the console itself the cartridges/CDs an extra controller and a friend to play multiplayer games. That’s the generation I miss the most. I rather play with somebody that I know personally that’s with me in the same house then play other people from thousands of miles away and pay for expensive Internet service just to do so so after the seventh generation came to an end, I didn’t care for gaming anymore they told old school gamers like me to go fuck ourselves!
Great Comment!! I actually started off just like you only with the PlayStation 2. Playing in the same house using the multi tap accessory with 4 people was insane. The games back then still catered to fun times and enjoyable experiences. Now it’s just terrible🤦🏾♂️
@@ViceGoat I remember playing with friends after school when I had the Sega Genesis back in the early 90s and super Nintendo as well then comes 1995 and everything becomes high-end. There was no way my parents were going to drop that kind of money on a Sega Saturn or the first PlayStation even back, then I knew gaming was catering to more affluent people there in that time I was lucky to have a genesis and a super Nintendo and renting games at Blockbuster that was some of the greatest times in my life, but gaming became too high tech, and they wanted to cater to those spoiled teenagers with rich parents instead of the average people

Everybody was a gamer during that time, especially in the 90s I remember in school during recess we would talk about Mortal Kombat and street fighter… but those days are gone now I’m about to be 40 in two months and rent is expensive. The cost of living is also expensive with inflation and food prices rising there’s no way I would want to spend extra money just to play video games plus, I’m not a fan of the new generation of consoles
First off ps5 was a scam recycled game catalog almost no unique games most the games on new gen are mid asf and they making us pay 70 dollars for a game worth 40 and ya the you need to dump 100 bucks on a game to compete is crazy and something that really pisses me off is the price of the console and it not allowing you to use the console off line
Ps5 has 8 games Returnal, Final Fantasy 16, Helldivers 2, Astros playroom, Ronin, Ratchet and Clank rift apart, Stellar Blade, and Spiderman 2. more than Xbox. still need more games though. Im hoping Concord and Marvel Rivals is good.

I’m with you man. I’m tired of paying 70 $70 is a waste of money down a drain and I realize that because we could be paying 60 the original price. But game companies once the rack money up so they can do whatever they want with the money. The prices even go up it stay the same price I always has been I’m done buying games until they lower the prices on now them
30$ off 100$ for a game never set right with us. Thing is I don’t think companies will lower prices until they see sales start to fall on release day which has already started to happen☝️ We got to boycott, spread the word🗣️
Liked and subscribed!!! So true!!! $70 for a game that isn’t even finished and will need to be patched several times, and shove dlc and micro transactions down our throats…
I know everything about physical copies of everything is ending. We are in the digital age and that is sad to me. You are right about 70 dollars must games launch half baked not complete or with bugs not in a great shape. We deserve better.
I've built a pc and own a switch. Best combo, never looking back. The pc was more expensive than a console but I spent much LESS each year to play as many games. And you have a huge amount of games that are not available on consoles. Whereas all console games now come to PC. Pc has free online service, cheaper games...
there are a lot of games that are cheaper (or free) that offer a unique experience. Triple A games come with a big overhead and automatically look to make a profit from anything they release. supporting smaller, more passionate developers is the way
I feel you when it comes to enjoying games. I'm mostly a retro gamer now as none of this new stuff is worth my time or what little energy I have and that's because I'm a man in his mid 30's now. Imagine still playing games in your 40s or 50s? Apparently, some guys my brother knows are in that age bracket! I don't see how my brother and his friends can sit and enjoy this stuff anymore what with the constant nickel and diming and when the older games die off, they just gravitate toward new ones until the pattern repeats again. I mostly emulate everything I play and with that, there's rom hacks and fan translated games which make older games a lot more exciting. Right now, I'm playing a Japanese GBA Bomberman game that didn't get a release here that's more or less a reskin of Bomberman Tournament on the GBA and it's ok but hard at times what with the armor not working due to a bug which can lead to some stupid deaths but that's what save states are for right?
I’m with you with playing older games. They were made with passion and with the modding community adding stuff to old games, it gives the game a breath of fresh air with new features! GREAT COMMENT☝️
@@ViceGoat There's something for everyone out there too. Old sports games even have roster and feature updates! NBA Jam & NHL '94 are alive and well and are far better than the Ultimate Team riddled garbage we have today.
My thoughts on the subject is that, back in the days console gaming made sense because the experience gaming on console or on PC was vastly different back then, every console had their own vibe their own gimmicks their own button layout, there was big differences in compute power and how graphics looked from one console to the other (I'm talking pre-360 era, pre-PS2 even) and if you got a game on PC you were expected to play mouse and keyboard, there was pretty much no other way around maybe you could get a gamepad but games were not meant to be played that way even console ports they had very basic gamepad support you had to configure the keys by hand it was very janky Since the xbox 360 console gamepads started to become USB, the button layout kinda got standardized and became the same on ps3 xbox 360 and pc (nintendo always kept their gimmicks which was a very good thing for them) so at that time gaming kind of became unified there were fewer exclusive titles it didn't matter as much which platform you were on and it was at that time I think that the death of consoles became inevitable because if you can play the same game on console and on pc with virtually the same experience then you just realize that a console is nothing more than a less versatile, a more locked down computer This became very apparent with the PS4 era when consoles started to use the x86 architecture the very same that powers our PCs, the nail in the coffin was the PS5 which is a device that I can't comprehend, when I look at it I only see arbitrary limitations that aren't welcome in this day and age. If you buy a ps5 disc you can't run it on a ps4, even if the game was released on both systems, and even if the game is a small 2d indie game that could run on a ps3. A PS4 cannot play audio CDs even tho the hardware is perfectly capable of it, even tho Sony is the company that invented those in the first place and even tho every single device with an optical drive that has ever been released (except nintendo) are capable of playing them consoles are just confusing to me nowadays, it's like they're desperately trying to keep alive a paradigm from the 80s that completely lost its relevance in the late 2000s I didn't even talk about the thick layer of corporate greed they added on top of this mess but you can guess that it's not helping
Wow! Great comment! I started gaming in the PS2 era so I don’t know really know much from before then. I didn’t even know the PS4 couldn’t play CDs, that’s actually crazy!
What's even more infuriating is that one of the reasons for the prince increase to 70$ was to remove having micro-transactions in AAA games since one of the reasons they started to be implemented there was because _60 bucks from a single sale did not cover the profit margin alone_ so the price increase was supposed to cover that. And now AAA games are not only 70 but the micro-transactions have gotten even worse, they keep coming with more elaborated and stupid monetization schemes (ie Battlepass) and what's worse is that the quality of the game themselves have gone down. That's why at least I most of the time I browse Steam I look up games from the 6th gen that I missed out on and play those and if anything it just accentuates how lame games are nowadays.
They know they can get away with charging 70$ for an unfinished game. I didn’t know they started charging 70$ to cover sales cost, I thought it was because they said something about putting more into a games development or whatever. Whatever it is, it isn’t being, the quality of these games show it🤦🏾♂️
The only thing I’m looking forward to now is Nintendo’s New Console because if that thing has backwards compatibility Nintendo is fucking set for a whole decade almost. Just imagine the later switch games running smoothly on that thing
That's one major issue with Console gaming. No real sales as it's one of the biggest advantages about the PC. Online is easy to take for granted, and Sales happen often on Steam. Sometimes games can be acquired for free legally (Epic games giveaways), or one can go the piracy route. Consoles seem to have slim pickings, expensive, and locked down. I'm not sure if the PSN Store or XBox have sales or discounts as I haven't had a new console personally since the PS3 360 days, not including the switch as it's a handheld, like a 3DS, or PSP imo. I believe Consoles are still important for the tech illiterate gamer. What do y'all think? Do they have discounts on the digital fronts? I've seen some on the Switch before for indies and 3rd party titles.
They have one going on right now but it’s not in the same league as steam. Steam drops prices to literally nothing for great games and PS usually knocks off 35% max! I got 5 games on steam yesterday for about 15 dollars and they’re all triple A games
There is literally always games on sale on PSN and not just a few titles but a long ass list. Sales are cycled on usually a two week basis but sometimes the same sale can be up for 3 or 4 weeks and if it is a sale like this they usually add in more titles halfway through the sale. There are also occasionally weekend and event sales. But no matter when you visit PSN there will always be titles up for sale, and each sale usually has some major hitters.
@@_WTFOliver Thanks for the enlightenment. I haven't owned a modern console outside of the switch and was entirely unsure about the other big boys. Anywho, Nice to know!
i fine the AAA gaming companies funny, "lets increase the price of our games so we can make more money" but if they actually had brains they'd lower the prices back to $60 or even $50 then they would see more sales and a larger player base.
Yes finally someone is thinking the same thing. Games today are boring AF. They been focusing so much on graphics and milking the fuk out of DLCs they forgetting the GAMEPLAY, where the fun is at actually….sad.
Haven’t had fun in a game in yearsss! It needs to be said. Gaming used to be fun and now its more of a chore than a luxury when you play🤦🏾♂️ Truly sad
It would be justified if not for the infestation of "micro transactions" on which you can spend more than a game with all DLC expansions would cost 15 years ago.
@@ViceGoat Especially the live service games! I got Suicide Squad for 70 bucks so no one else wouldn't have to, It almost destroyed my PS5 unfortunately so I had to uninstall the software. I got it just to show how guilty WB Games are
this is true Ive been playing games on my Gaming PC much more lately my PS5 and Xbox Series X dont get used much may as well sell least one of them soon. :/ the biggest downside to console games also is lack of modding support where PC games can be modded so easily. until they are able to open that up on console theres really no reason to play them.
You’re right, the modding scene is what really makes the games enjoyable nowadays. Should probably sell the Series X since PS5 has Wolverine coming out in the future!
It's failing as everything is a live service thing with tonnes of micro transactions. I bought ps4 on release but have no interest in new games as they are not designed to be fun anymore. They are designed to offer the bare minimum to get you to pay loads extra to increase your perceived fun.
$70 for a key to play a game for the rest of your life is fine compared to when people paid $116 in 1996. Gaming is cheap compared to other major hobbies other than streaming services.
"multiplayer games only exist to profit off the customer" My friend business only exist to profit off the customer. Video games have had this as a central conceit since hardwired pong consoles and arcade machines in the early 70's. The only reason why dedication to quality seemed more prevalent back in the mid 1980's and early 90's was because figures like Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi mandated it. Sony's dominance in the late 90's put a end to that mandate and game have gotten progressively more buggy ever since.
PC is great. I get all the sales, free multiplayer, and the flexibility for workstation use. Console used to be fun, but it lacks character now. It just feels corporate.
I understand that video game prices didn't follow inflation, but on the other hand AAA priced video games are mostly the norm. 70 $ for GoTY ownership of a title is probably fine. COD #124. 70 $ as a doscounted price with a recurring season pass with a digital copy renting is overpriced.
I am just one induvial amongst the masses, who hasn't paid for a full price game since the early PS4 days. I always wait for a heavy discount. Games have become a bottom of the tier priority to me.
I'm a PC gamer that completely ignores 'mainstream' AAA games. Well, to be more accurate, there's only two AAA companies I still buy from. Capcom and id Software (Doom, Quake, etc). In my opinion, these are the only AAA companies that still have passion and competence. Other than these two, I stick to retro games and indie games. AAA studios and publishers can kick rocks.
The latest PCs have as much processing power, probably more than the latest gaming consoles, that it's more suitable to play digital versions of previously released games on PCs than buy appropriate consoles. For instance, the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5, 2.8 and 3 games released on Steam last month, and so far I'm enjoying the package. Note 'so far', for there might be the same issues with them as they are when they were released on the Epic Games website. Also, it's better to buy games that catch your eye when they're on sale. You'll save your money in that regard.
It is pretty eye opening when you consider that a lot of the biggest games "lethal company", "pal world", "helldivers 2" are created by small studios/indie studios. I think indie games are usually created by people who love videogames rather than a bunch of execs in a huge board meeting. they feel very personal and humanizing. Even if there are bugs they are hardly ever game breaking and add a little charm to the game. Like an item clipped through a wall in lethal company or a door that or an enemy who's ai broke so now they're just an unpredictable hilarious "threat".
@@ViceGoat Have you played mullet madjack? That game is lit and would look dope as a background gameplay in your videos. Its a single player indie game.

The gaming Industry is dying due to braindead executives jacking up prices and forcing developers to change features on games. Meanwhile, they never played a single video game in their life and know nothing about the industry 😡
With an excellent back catalog, only suckers pay for new games. When a game comes out, you wait a year or two so all the DSC‘s are included at a discount price with the full game. That’s when you buy it. Pre-ordering games is for suckers.
I just use a PC and play older games. Consoles have sucked donkey dick for a decade or more now when not have they gone downhill but so have video games in general. PC typically has the same or better selection of games, pirating, roms, old or previous generation games, better sales (Steam), and so much more in terms of advantages. Modding, better settings, controller support, romhacks, fan-content, and more. Steam Deck, Steam Link, and Linux are all superior options available as well with plenty of support. Linux is performance efficient and customizable with countless advantages. If a proper and official first-party Steam Controller 2 comes along PC will officially just be outright better overall (as if it isn't already). Gaming has gone downhill, just play older titles and stick to PC. Boycott the absolute bullshit the industry has become whether it's consoles, triple A titles, microtransactions, "deluxe" editions, DLC, day 1 locked content, subscription services, "you will own nothing and be happy", lack of right to repair, and etc. just fuck all of that. Shank the industry and bleed it dry of unearned and undeserved money 1 wallet at a time and lets get things back on track.
While there have been great games that have released over the past decade, I do agree. We have to boycott to get the changes we need for a better tomorrow! GREAT COMMENT
PC is massively superior in every way. I use $1000 headphones (HE1000 Stealth) that can't be used on a console. On PC, I can use any hardware and software I want, make music, listen to music, use Discord, OBS, install mods, make games, watch movies, do research and reading, watch TH-cam all at the same time while using a mouse and keyboard. No proprietary nonsense nor subscriptions. The fact that I can use any audio gear I want. Higher framerates. You can get a very good PC for $700 if you buy the parts used.

Great comment🗣️☝️ But I’ve been receiving some indie and double A game recommendations and haven’t been disappointed. Chaos breeds opportunity and opportunity I’m glad to say that they are killing it. We just need to shed more light on the indie scene. They can take over gaming🔥☝️☝️
LOL 70 bucks for a game too much? Here's a news flash: in the early 90s games from the SNES etc costed 50-70 bucks a piece then too. So nothing there has changed, only the graphics and gameplay.
Replying here else the message gets too big: in the early 2000s games became cheaper, now they are back on early 90s price. We aren't used to that any more. 70 bucks games now feel expensive, not because of the price, but because of bad quality: graphics over gameplay/story. And then current gender ideoligy etc comes in too.
No many things have changed. Those games didn't need two year of patches to become playable or good and didn't cut all content out to sell you skin packages and character packages etc etc. Everything was there with cheat codes. Now every little extra or beyond the most basic is cut out so they can sell you DLC packages. Lastly those games didn't come with 5-6 different editions that could go up to crazy prices, didn't have pre-orders and weren't selling you early access on top.
@@SIPEROTH yeah, forgot about the MTX/Battlepass, early acces and patches. But I was referring to nothing changed in the price of the base game. Indeed on other fronts alot has changed for the worse. Indie games, especially on PC are the ones that dare to innovate.
been playing on pc my whole life even when i had a non gaming pc back then and playing flash games on a browser... to now full gaming pc with a 7900 gre gpu that runs almost every game 200 fps. Pc gaming is just better you can get games for cheap, dont have to pay to play online, can do anything other than just playing games, editing, recording, photoshop, music producing much more.
I'm literally playing Gamepass on my Firestick right now and don't own a xbox it's actually pretty amazing. I got good internet so I can stream video games on gamepass no problem
I’ll give you a tip only pay for one month Xbox ultimate download a few games play them try and finish them build your Microsoft points up then you use your Microsoft points every other month until eventually you’ve got enough points to just pay for the pass itself
@@ViceGoat that’s how I do it. I don’t pay for game pass I use my Microsoft points. It may take you a bit too much to build up. So you may have to pay for at least two passes.
I just woke up. I completely misinterpreted what you said. But yea they got a lot of nerve to ask for 70+ for half made games and extra “content” that should’ve been there day one🤦🏾♂️
@ViceGoat haha! No worries my King. Agree; you, me and many other gamers are fed up with high prices, half-finished games, and vanishing physical media versions of game titles
They got so lazy! Even if you get a physical game you only get the disc. And sometimes with switch games you get a digital code inside the box!! No physical game
And This Is Why I Think All Consoles Such As Ps3-Ps5, Xbox 360-Series X, And The Switch(Cuz The Wii U Survived It's Store Shut Down) Are Gonna Shut Down All Of The Sudden And All Of Our Games For These Exact Consoles Will Become Unplayable.
Not ALL video games are like this. Not all of them are designed to suck money out of you. But if Call of Duty is your peak game...that's all you are interested in...that's sad.
Lol nah I don’t play COD. I don’t even play my game, was just trying to spread awareness. You are right though, there are games that aren’t designed to get money out of the consumer; but there is a great deal of them
Not purchased ps+ for 4 years. Don't buy new games until 6+ months when updates and patcjes fixes the game also wait for it to be half tge price. This generation sucks so bad, DEI wokeness has infested games, corporate greed with half baked games and DLC's, game making time frames are too long now, companies should focus on gameplay first instead of trying to turn everything into mocap Hollywood movies with realistic graphics....This is the shittest console era in history.
I think they need to keep giving more options for the graphics like they do with PC, i mean allow us to play street fighter at the lowest setting possible to get that 120 frames, in all its blurry glory xD
I'm sorry to contribute to that problem, but I grew up on PC also. And when I see some of the videogames that PlayStation and X-Box helped majorly established being put on a PC port like The Grand Theft Auto Series, Resident Evil, and Gears Of War? I just can't help but purchase and download. I just like playing PC because I think there is some major "Star Trek educational" like value to learning to play something with a keyboard and mouse. That just seems eternal for some reason....
70 dollars is not a lot for a game if you take into consideration inflation and the amount of hours of entertainment you get from them. If you can't pay 70 bucks you're just being cheap.
To be fair, back in the day you were still paying like 50+ dollars for super nintendo games, which would be like, what? 100 dollars today? More? I feel like the problem isnt the price, its the mixture of the game quality and everybody today struggling to put food on the table, so we cant afford a game every month, we need a single game to last us months. Which is hard for ANY game outside of like a really good shooter or mmo, or if you are the type of person to speedrun games, just playing them over and over at nauseum. But the quality today just isnt there, but ive told people forever to just play older games you missed during last gen. The ps4 and xbone had hundreds of GOATed games, and you can pick them up mainly for less than 20 bucks these days.
For example; The Elder Scrolls Online, buy the game and any or all DLCs if you wish, then you have to pay for PS Plus Essential as a minimum, then if you like, you can pay monthly for ESO Plus. Either way PS Plus is the bare minimum. I cancelled mine last year and now I've found myself not playing the PlayStation much at all, even for Single Player games.

Secondly, monthly concurrent revenue looks good to investors
lolno
And the kicker, it costs them less now because most sales are digital.
They dont have to pay for manufacturing and retail space like they used to
Facts!!
Consoles need to stop putting graphics over framerate
1000%
I've said it SOOOOO many times, why the absolute living hell can't consoles gamers choose graphics settings? Like maybe I don't want 4k raytraced graphics if it means 30 fps
Thats not gonna happen anytime soon.
There are still more than 50% (on console) with not even 60 FPS and they wanna justify it by online service.
Facts!
It makes no sense
I think these big publicly-traded gaming companies are shitting themselves right now. They are required to have consistent growth but there's not enough new gamers to grow the player base so they resort to scummy practices like micro transactions, deluxe editions with early access and raising the price of their games to artificially increase revenue in the short term. The good thing is they can only do this for so long before their games get so greedy that people refuse to buy them. At which point, their company inevitably collapses in on itself since investors don't want to own shares in a failing business.
You’re absolutely right☝️☝️☝️
This big time.
Everything is in service to the store, not the game itself.
they dont wanna work for your money.
not paid for a PS subscription for two years now, not buying any shitty skins packs, and never pre-order any game... shit... not having fun playing any games these days.

You would have fun again if you gave Nintendo a chance.Everything is cheaper and user friendly.Customer service is outstanding. There are a ton of games to choose from.
Pc and nintendo: we gotchu my brotha
Thank you! Great comment! I hope this trend continues as well!
PS5 will likely be my last console for gaming in general. The final nail in the coffin would be if companies solely rely on cloud gaming. I can care less about digital games
I can’t stand cloud gaming🤦🏾♂️
@ViceGoat Cloud gaming is the future morons. Cloud gaming is great more portable and you don't have to buy a console
You love cloud gaming huh? Tells me everything I need to know🤦🏾♂️

Nintendo games are different. Mario Odyssey is still a strict $60. They want you to pay $60 for an almost 8 year old game on an underpowered console generations behind. It's literally weaker than people's phones
Corporate greed. Yes, 100% here is why:
- Console companies (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft) charge to play online
- Console companies charge for games to be on their system
- Console companies charge more for controllers
- Game studios charge $70.00 for games that put no effort to make a good game
- Game studios manipulate the gaming experience to make more money within in game stores
- Microsoft charges for game pass, making a lot of money on top of console sales and game sales.
- Sony charges for PS+ it used to be free, but then it went to free games with subscription, and then they raised the price twice
- Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo also raised their prices for their subscription services. Nintendo is just trying to push for people to pay more for more gaming options.
All 100% correct

Video Games are a work of art. Especially old video games☝️ As long as we keep them alive, we’ll always have something to play and enjoy
My thoughts on the subject is that, back in the days console gaming made sense because the experience gaming on console or on PC was vastly different back then, every console had their own vibe their own gimmicks their own button layout, there was big differences in compute power and how graphics looked from one console to the other (I'm talking pre-360 era, pre-PS2 even) and if you got a game on PC you were expected to play mouse and keyboard, there was pretty much no other way around maybe you could get a gamepad but games were not meant to be played that way even console ports they had very basic gamepad support you had to configure the keys by hand it was very janky
Since the xbox 360 console gamepads started to become USB, the button layout kinda got standardized and became the same on ps3 xbox 360 and pc (nintendo always kept their gimmicks which was a very good thing for them) so at that time gaming kind of became unified there were fewer exclusive titles it didn't matter as much which platform you were on and it was at that time I think that the death of consoles became inevitable because if you can play the same game on console and on pc with virtually the same experience then you just realize that a console is nothing more than a less versatile, a more locked down computer
This became very apparent with the PS4 era when consoles started to use the x86 architecture the very same that powers our PCs, the nail in the coffin was the PS5 which is a device that I can't comprehend, when I look at it I only see arbitrary limitations that aren't welcome in this day and age. If you buy a ps5 disc you can't run it on a ps4, even if the game was released on both systems, and even if the game is a small 2d indie game that could run on a ps3. A PS4 cannot play audio CDs even tho the hardware is perfectly capable of it, even tho Sony is the company that invented those in the first place and even tho every single device with an optical drive that has ever been released (except nintendo) are capable of playing them
consoles are just confusing to me nowadays, it's like they're desperately trying to keep alive a paradigm from the 80s that completely lost its relevance in the late 2000s
I didn't even talk about the thick layer of corporate greed they added on top of this mess but you can guess that it's not helping
Whatever it is, it isn’t being, the quality of these games show it🤦🏾♂️
Bro I feel this so much 😭😭
Feels exactly the same, only thing that held me on gaming is the indie gems releasing now and then
We are in the dark ages of gaming🤦🏾♂️

The only thing I’m looking forward to now is Nintendo’s New Console because if that thing has backwards compatibility Nintendo is fucking set for a whole decade almost. Just imagine the later switch games running smoothly on that thing
That would be great for Nintendo fans! Hopefully it’s a feature on the new console☝️
Sega, atari, blaze entertainment and valve: hold my beer
You can't sell gameboxes without great gamebox exclusives.
Facts
i fine the AAA gaming companies funny, "lets increase the price of our games so we can make more money" but if they actually had brains they'd lower the prices back to $60 or even $50 then they would see more sales and a larger player base.
You would think they would do that now; but they won’t🤦🏾♂️
Watching this from my ASUS Rog Ally. I will never go back to consoles lmfao.

70 dollars for a game is pure greed.
No doubt🗣️☝️
It would be justified if not for the infestation of "micro transactions" on which you can spend more than a game with all DLC expansions would cost 15 years ago.
Can’t believe I’d say I miss those 15$ DLC packs 🤦♂️

I moved to PC at the start when the PS5 gen started due to not ever being able to get one at the start and ho boy glad i did.
I’m glad you did too. I paid over market for my PS5 and have yet to see any real value come from it🤦🏾♂️
this is true Ive been playing games on my Gaming PC much more lately my PS5 and Xbox Series X dont get used much may as well sell least one of them soon.
Facts!
$70 for a key to play a game for the rest of your life is fine compared to when people paid $116 in 1996. Gaming is cheap compared to other major hobbies other than streaming services.
People owned the game back in 96 though. You buy a 70$ game digitally now and you only have access to the right🤦🏾♂️

"multiplayer games only exist to profit off the customer"
My friend business only exist to profit off the customer.
Great comment! I never even looked at it that way!
PC is great. I get all the sales, free multiplayer, and the flexibility for workstation use. Console used to be fun, but it lacks character now. It just feels corporate.
Facts
I understand that video game prices didn't follow inflation, but on the other hand AAA priced video games are mostly the norm. 70 $ for GoTY ownership of a title is probably fine. COD #124. 70 $ as a doscounted price with a recurring season pass with a digital copy renting is overpriced.
I am just one induvial amongst the masses, who hasn't paid for a full price game since the early PS4 days. I always wait for a heavy discount. Games have become a bottom of the tier priority to me.
RESPECT!
The last full game I purchased was SpiderMan 2 and it’ll be the last one until the next resident Evil and Wolverine game
I'm 51 years old and I'm slowing down in my gaming these days I don't play like I used to.
Im way younger and don’t even like to play modern video games. Its not you, its the industry
Insomniac is another one. But publishers like EA and Activision🚮🚮🚮
I switched to PC 7 years ago I saw the light in the PS4 era
Wish I would’ve seen it sooner honestly!
same....ps4 was def giving me last console eva feeling...i was like yeah im done pc here i come...im done with consoles
100%
Steam always have nice sales going on so it’s easier to get the games you want for cheap on PC. Great Comment!!
Me still vibing with my Xbox 360 Elite😂
Fucking legend🔥

It is pretty eye opening when you consider that a lot of the biggest games "lethal company", "pal world", "helldivers 2" are created by small studios/indie studios. I think indie games are usually created by people who love videogames rather than a bunch of execs in a huge board meeting. they feel very personal and humanizing. Even if there are bugs they are hardly ever game breaking and add a little charm to the game. Like an item clipped through a wall in lethal company or a door that or an enemy who's ai broke so now they're just an unpredictable hilarious "threat".
I hope that the small studios and indie games take over the market!
@@ViceGoat I hope so too! and it looks like gaming has been trending that way.

These consoles might be my last if the next generation of consoles is only digital consoles. I will retire and play my collection of physical copy games and become a retro gamer.
If the next console generation is all digital then I’m just going to stick with PC🤦🏾♂️
The gaming Industry is dying due to braindead executives jacking up prices and forcing developers to change features on games. Meanwhile, they never played a single video game in their life and know nothing about the industry 😡
Ain’t that the truth🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
GTA 4 was the last new game I bought. I do not miss modern gaming/scamming.
GTA 4 was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 way better than 5
You make good points, solution is Gamepass, more games than you can play. 2 games per year covers the cost
Gamepass is good however there is a downside of never owning a game on the service if you pay for it!
With an excellent back catalog, only suckers pay for new games. When a game comes out, you wait a year or two so all the DSC‘s are included at a discount price with the full game. That’s when you buy it. Pre-ordering games is for suckers.
That or buy a physical copy online for way cheaper on sites like eBay
We need more competition in the gaming market.
A lot more competition ☝️
Ppl paying for 2k and madden games and buying vc and mut packs deserve to have there wallets graped

I built my PC for about 700$ and it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever done.

The sweet spot would be 50 dollars for games if you ask me
Si, 50$ is doable
When I heard that microsoft started buying up companies that made games I thought uh oh this won't end well. I just got rid of my xbox one with a stack of games. The reason I did it was because I was going to play mw cold war and it was over 100 gigs just play it. I thought nope I am done and sold it all for $70. I bought it from one of my kids and so he had bought some expensive controller. I have a ps3 and a wii and that's where I stop.
Best place to stop! Consider getting a gaming PC so you can enjoy the classics and emulation. You won’t regret your decision to invest into it☝️
@@ViceGoat You hit the nail on the head as I have been talking to my youngest son about. He bought a $10 game and the graphics weren't the best but it was like the old call of duty mw. Yes you have a new subscriber.

Don't forget that game Companies wanna go higher than 70$for videogames. While at the same time the base 70dollar game doesn't even have all the content due to the fact that they wanna sell you the extra content as dlc later on. So you're sorta forced to get the deluxe/ultimate whatever edition to be able to get it. And eben then, you don't get all The content, you stop have to buy the seasons passes. Videogames are supposed to be an escape from real life. I don't need to be reminded that I'm poor lmao. Naw but Fr, Indie games and Double A are killing it out there. I will just keep on supporting these folks. Triple A however, I'm dropping them. Don't quit videogames dude, give these indies and double A games a chance. U may fall in love with videogames again
Facts
@@SIPEROTH yeah, forgot about the MTX/Battlepass, early acces and patches. But I was referring to nothing changed in the price of the base game. Indeed on other fronts alot has changed for the worse. Indie games, especially on PC are the ones that dare to innovate.

been playing on pc my whole life even when i had a non gaming pc back then and playing flash games on a browser... to now full gaming pc with a 7900 gre gpu that runs almost every game 200 fps. $70 is too much for a video game? You’re right, this is why Xbox Gamepass exists. Day 1 brand new releases. We eating good here with Xbox.
Gamepass > PS Plus
I'm literally playing Gamepass on my Firestick right now and don't own a xbox it's actually pretty amazing. I got good internet so I can stream video games on gamepass no problem
It's better to buy the games you want instead of renting them because they'll eventually take it off of gamepass
I’ll give you a tip only pay for one month Xbox ultimate download a few games play them try and finish them build your Microsoft points up then you use your Microsoft points every other month until eventually you’ve got enough points to just pay for the pass itself
That’s actually some life changing advice right there☝️
@@ViceGoat that’s how I do it. I don’t pay for game pass I use my Microsoft points. It may take you a bit too much to build up. So you may have to pay for at least two passes.

@ViceGoat haha! No worries my King.
Agree; you, me and many other gamers are fed up with high prices, half-finished games, and vanishing physical media versions of game titles

I'll just say I've been having a blast since I switched to PC during the 360 gen...

Def could happen! Just a reminder that you don’t own the games and apps you bought🤦🏾♂️

100% we got to make changes!
I think they need to keep giving more options for the graphics like they do with PC, i mean allow us to play street fighter at the lowest setting possible to get that 120 frames, in all its blurry glory xD
I’d actually be down for that☝️
I'm sorry to contribute to that problem, but I grew up on PC also.
For some reason I cannot get into K&M🤦🏾♂️. I’ll keep trying it though
Would you consider the Rog Ally a console?
70 dollars is not a lot for a game if you take into consideration inflation and the amount of hours of entertainment you get from them. If you can't pay 70 bucks you're just being cheap.
So you’d pay 70$ for the same game every year and get the the exact same game?
Great point☝️
For example; The Elder Scrolls Online, buy the game and any or all DLCs if you wish, then you have to pay for PS Plus Essential as a minimum, then if you like, you can pay monthly for ESO Plus. Either way PS Plus is the bare minimum. I cancelled mine last year and now I've found myself not playing the PlayStation much at all, even for Single Player games.
You dodge a bullet good sir☝️
i saw that the a lot of the most played games are over 5 years old which I guess is because new games arent as good in most people eyes
They really aren’t, games 5 years ago weren’t as good as they were 10 years ago and so on!
