I just turn my GoPro on, pray to the bike gods that I have an SD card inside and the mic is recording, and then go. I should take notes on this video...
This was a master class! Thank for uploading it to TH-cam. Most others would have sold it as a course. I really appreciate it. I’m travelling on my bike in some remote areas of Pakistan right now, so this was what I needed.
dude. I have been tearing through TH-cam trying to find a video to break down a go pro like this. so many videos go over it so fast with no real explanation or explain it but don't teach how to apply it to your content. You did both. I cannot thank you enough for this video!
I came here expecting a simple "click this and that" tutorial, ended up actually watching a 30mins lecture on how to be a better cinematographer. Good stuff boss
I feel like I can work for a movie studio with just a GoPro after watching this video 😂 Thank you so much for creating this content! I learned an incredible amount as I knew nothing about filmmaking fundamentals before watching this video. A very well-deserved like and subscribe 👍
After watching half of your video I feel bad I don’t have your bank acct to properly compensate you for all the knowledge you shared and time this will save me. Thank you so very much. Best Gopro video I’ve ever watched. Kudos.
I don't own a GoPro.. but I've seen quite a few of these tips and tricks videos.. my man.. this is a goldmine! I feel like I should have paid money for this!
I do work in audio and film a LOT and man, I watch every video I come across on TH-cam for fun and Harris Heller as been one of my go tos as far as finding the equipment to handle the job goes, and I think people should really add this video of yours to their list of references on how to utilize and work with said equipment. This has been one of if not the most informative videos I’ve seen to date
I Don't own a GoPro (Yet), and still this helps so much in footage from DSLR or Mirrorless. Mike you are a legend mate. Editing and especially when you discuss with arri cameras, editing software and youtube, that put a smile on my face and made me wonder how you can do that. Super talented, deserves more than a million subscribers. Godspeed Mike
I've just started my motovlog channel to fill a niche in the Hungarian YT community with videos made at higher than average production values. But your stuff is on the next level Mike. You've helped me a ton! Keep it up!
You are awesome, man. I learned more watching this video than I have wasting a hundred hours watching other stuff. Way to cut to the chase. YYou're the man
Dude, this is NO JOKE the BEST video for gopro setup. The way you teach and explain everything perfectly fits with my learning and editing style. I'm going to save this video for when I get super deep into film making. But I do have one question, why does my gopro hero 8 upload footage in really low quality? Even in 4K the image quality looks really blurry and horrible. And it shouldn't be an SD card problem, I bought a SanDisk 128 GB card.
this video was great man, seen a lot of people new to gopros recording poor videos and I was getting concerned that the gopro 10 just wasn't worth it. But nah.. just people new to cameras that didn't know how to manage the settings well, without your vid I might of been one of them, thanks man
This video contains a wealth of knowledge beyond GoPro and demands more views. Perhaps retitle this video: Video MasterClass: Amateur to Pro in 30 minutes (Or something like that). I saw the video because I'm subscribed to you otherwise I would have missed it and I'm currently searching for this type of tutorials. Remember most views are from nonsubscribers. I'm diving into Reddit and spreading this video. Great video man; keep up the great work.
This is a very good video my friend, I studied Video Editing and Content Creation, and the explanations were pretty much spot on. Whilst I'm not interested in motorbikes at all, I'll subscribe to you mainly for the footage that is a pleasure to watch. There's a few methods for GoPro that you may consider checking out, related to motion blur, (shooting in 60 and frames and utilizing the extra frames as media to create motion blur, AI Induced Motion Blur on programs like Davinci Resolve Studio (or plug ins), etc). Sorry for my English, it's not my native language. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Thank you man. as an amateur I really learned so much from this one video. I had no idea that I should edit my 60fps videos in 30 or 24 fps to get the best result from the slow motion effects! I've been editing my 60fps shots in 60fps and was thinking 'hmmm why is this slow motion not as good as I thought it would be?'. I'm gonna reduce my current 60fps project to 30fps and see how it changes the slow motion there.
My goodness. I've been looking at multiple GoPro setup videos every now and then and I'm always struggling a lot with my own GoPro filming (so much useless footage). This is by far the most detailed and well-explained video on this topic I have ever encountered. A lot of the stuff I already knew/figured out myself, but you presented it in such a clear way that all these concept connect clearly! I may actually order some more GoPro's for my trackday onboard footage after all.
This is probably the most underrated GoPro video on how to capture video with a GoPro. I don't own one... but damn, those are some sweet tips if I ever get one!
Man this is really the best and most complete info about working with Gopros, there are bunch of videos that doesn't have mora than a few topics, Thanks
After watching this video, I am glad I purchased Hero 10 and accessories related mostly to my sport touring rides and getting familiar with my first brand new RT 2022. I was wondering which settings to use to get the most from that camera and later for post production. I took notes and screen shots from this video. You saved me from a lot of lost time… thank You Mike.
Dude you seriously rock some knowledge here. My Hero 9 is arriving tomorrow and I've been trying to educate myself on the best way to use it for a 10 day trip to Colorado/Arizona. There's going to be some amazing scenery; Grand Canyon, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, Durango, Sedona, Scottsdale, can hardly wait.
You pretty much taught us a crash course for film making using a gopro! 10/10 I do want to give a little feedback. Incorporate pauses and transitions whenever you're switching topics. Happened a few times that you moved on to the next topic and I thought you were still talking about previous one. Also helps with viewers with a "relief" each topic even if it's only 2-3sec pause.
Wow. I got lost with the Final Cut and color grading. I will have to leave my comfort zone of imovie for editing and get the Final Cut and come back to rewatch. Thank you! Everything I gopro has been in 1080 for years. I hate my video resolution. This video will allow me to move forward. Thank you again!
Mike you are awesome 👌 and you production quality is second to non. Would love a video for the many many vloggers out there that struggle with sound recording and quality 👍🙏
Hats off, man. This is by far the most complete "to use" GoPro guide I've seen so far. A lot of work put to film, explain and put together. Big THANK YOU! 😘
My first time trying to record myself motorcycling, I placed the mount on my helmet so far forward that all I got was two hours of footage of my handlebars and the road. Thankfully the weather was nice that weekend, so I just saddled up and went out again the next morning . Also, thanks for the tips, really useful. I have a lot of good gear now, just need to learn how to use it!
i came to improve the audio quality of my gopro videos. but now i'm making my own cinema movie. 😂 😂 nice vid! so much information! you put a lot of love in this video. greetings from bavaria, germany
One of the best videos i have seen so far explaining how to capture good footage from your GoPro. Wish there was an option to give multiple likes :). Thanks for sharing Mike
Thank you so much for having enabled the subtitles. Your video is very interesting in addition to all those about motorcycle driving that I follow closely. Greetings
Congrats. I guess this is THE best explaining video, containing everything you need to know and change, on TH-cam. Liked, Subscribed and Shared. Keep on your masterpiece of videos and thank you for helping me with my 2021 restart on my channel.
I just turn my GoPro on, pray to the bike gods that I have an SD card inside and the mic is recording, and then go. I should take notes on this video...
Hahaha!! Oh Lali. 😂
I did pretty much the same until today!
Best comment ever!!

Ditto, girl :"D

One of the most concise and elegant lectures I've seen in a while.
This deserves to be a full course. Amazing detailed guidance! Thank you so much for sharing!
This might have be the best gopro tutorial I've seen yet.
dude. the amount of time you spent on this video. flat out amazing just saying. i've watched it twice now just to absorb all the info you give out.
Perfectly summarized in ~30 mins it’s gonna benefit a lot of people 👌🏼
As a final year signal & image processing engineering master student.. this was spot on :)
BLDH what are you doing here??? Oh a new GoPro Tutorial time to lern😂😂😂 (dude you already do great content)
You're a signal and image processing master student and didn't pick up the claim that higher ISO results in more light? 😉
@@BillMaryon the result is brightness...same shit
@@GuitarTherapy144 only IF shutter speed and aperture remain the same, and it's an ISO-invariant sensor
Lol nobody cares
This was a master class! Thank for uploading it to TH-cam. Most others would have sold it as a course. I really appreciate it. I’m travelling on my bike in some remote areas of Pakistan right now, so this was what I needed.
Enjoy your trip mate. Stay safe.
Hope you're uploading vlog videos.
Have fun, my country is beautiful
hey karl :)
This tutorial is absolutely stellar. One of, if not the best bike-specific GoPro tutorials I've ever seen.
dude. I have been tearing through TH-cam trying to find a video to break down a go pro like this. so many videos go over it so fast with no real explanation or explain it but don't teach how to apply it to your content. You did both. I cannot thank you enough for this video!

Du är helt underbart pedagogisk. Det blir så lätt att förstå med ditt fina sätt att förklara
That's actually an invaluable video. The amount of time it saves you...Wow, thanks for the excellent work!
This is absolutely one of the best videos out there explaining the basics of ... Everything. Also love the very Swedish pronunciation of Husqvarna :D
I feel like I can work for a movie studio with just a GoPro after watching this video 😂 Thank you so much for creating this content! I learned an incredible amount as I knew nothing about filmmaking fundamentals before watching this video. A very well-deserved like and subscribe 👍

Since I bought my Hero9 I couldn't find any channel that gives such amazing details as you do here. Thank you very much. Love from Germany.
One of the most comprehensive guides ever!
I comment rarely... But this is undoubtedly the greatest video about GoPro recording I´ve ever seen. Masterpiece.
This like a GoPro film school in one video.
Anybody else reread his comment multiple times before you understood?

The shooting in 4:3 then cropping to 16:9 tip totally blew my mind! I've never thought of that. Great video. Lots of good information.
People can learn more from this video about film making than from some film making channels. Your content is top level, thank you very much!
