There is a 2 dollar alternative on AliExpress, but it mixes up two wires. Easy fix if you're a bit handy. The only thing you're paying for with the go pro mic adapter is a 330ohm resistor on 2 pins to disable the internal mic.
Agreed, but GoPro messed up on way too many things! The mic input is just the beginning, as I am so ashamed that this is a US based NorCal company (my own Silicon Valley backyard). Top GP6+7 TOTAL FAILURES: battery life (I feel like a slave changing it always interupting all our rides! just seen this video and.............. would like to say a serious thank you to you as the planning, time and effort behind this video needs to appreciated highly. top quality.
nice video for the technical part and bike mounts ideas and gear. BUT , i wouldn't recomend any body mount, it's just plain dangerous in case of a crash. Chest mount will break your ribs and helmet mount could break your neck if it struck something (especially top mount) . In my country, on tracks, body mounts are just forbiden for these reasons !
Goestrip disagree! The mounts are made to break under any kind of pressure. Soooooo many ppl have crashed with their action cams on them mounted, I have yet to hear anybody get hurt from the cam itself any worse than the crash. Usually as soon as you hit something the camera goes flying.. Also, while riding, you should wear protective gear like jackets and chest protection, which would easily deflect the energy of a GoPro being squished while you go down.. As for helmet mounts, well with the 3M tape on it and those plastic mounts, yeah, your GoPro will go flying off long before your neck breaks, I’m sure! I’ve used them for long time, as stunt rider, and yeah, I think your country just doesn’t want you recording yourself 😉
Great video, Mike. And a touch of humour and twinkle of the eye works wonders. I learned a lot these past few minutes and look forward to finding more of the your stuff!
Great video, the coverage of different things is amazing! Even after all the bells and whistles, that Gopro image looks awful to me. Hero has been the number one action camera for so long time but I think it will be changed soon. Even smartphones have better video quality nowadays.
