    Huyang is a perfect example of a star wars droid done right. He's not just there, but actually around for droid stuff he can do, he's informative and good comic relief, of course being voiced by Tennant also doesn't hurt, perfect.
    As a sidenote, when they mention Zatochi during the saber training, I think they're referencing and paying homage to Zatoichi, a fictional blind swordsman from a Japanese film series.

      I don't know if you know this, but Huyang is a very, very old droid. Supposedly he was built in 25,020 BBY! However, there's a lot of speculation about his true origins. One group of younglings about to head out for the Gathering ceremony during the clone wars (in the Brotherhood book) told a story that Huyang had mysteriously showed up at the Jedi Temple in a large blue box. Sound familiar?

    I'm telling you.. Those Ahsoka episodes, they make me feel like a kid again. Like i'm in love with what Dave Filoni is doing right now. The music, the plot, characters development. Everything. I love it. And the Kiner(s) are killing it with the music. Huyang's training with Sabine with the background music and Ahsoka watching them was like watching Tales Of The Jedi again. When Anakin watched Ahsoka train with Tera Sinube, then with Rex and the 501st. Ahsoka saying " Let's go again " like Anakin when Ahsoka kept passing out during that training. Like... i'm in love with the callbacks. For me, Ahsoka as a character is at a state now where she's trying to be like Anakin, strong mentally even tho she may be conflicted inside, sometimes breaking rules etc etc... I think that's the vision that Dave Filoni is trying to show with this show. So for me, when I see Ahsoka now, I see her personality from her past, her struggles and Anakin's personality.

      Been saying if people don’t like this show, then they’re probably not a Star Wars fan. I’ve seen people recently say that this show is horrible and not everything needs lightsabers and space battles. That’s literally what Star Wars is all about.

    • @DigiVixen
      @DigiVixen 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I love how the characters are natural, and Ahsoka is calculating, and stiff, but still caring. She's still dealing with trauma. The self-realization of how she was acting was so smooth. Sabine's frustration, the music, Huyang having that C3P0 sort of dialogue flavor to him. There's just so much that feels epic, and adventurous, and full of mystery and intrigue. By far this one of the best of the side series shows in the great Star Wars epic.
      It really lets the characters be themselves, and lets the actors help create that image of those characters.

    I thought it was a really interesting comment about Ahsoka being from a long line of non-traditional Jedi, because it is DEAD on honestly.
    starting with the Padawan and going to the Master the line goes:
    Ahsoka(who has very non-traditional views about the Jedi)
    Anakin(The Chosen One who also turned to the dark side)
    Obi-Wan(The First Jedi known in a millennium to kill a Sith Lord and one of the best practitioners of form 2 the Jedi ever had)
    Qui-Gon(Jedi Master with very non-traditional views about how the Jedi operated, and the first to discover how to survive beyond death)
    Count Dooku(Jedi Master who turned to the Dark side and was one of the best Lightsaber Duelists of the Jedi in a Millennium)
    Yoda(1 of 2 of his species in the Jedi Order, probably the strongest Lightsaber duelist or force wielder the Jedi had for a Millennium)
    idk who trained Yoda but they must have been a hell of the Jedi

    Hyperdrive rings are basically a booster you attach to to make your jump and detach when you arrive, leaving it in space while you do your business. We see them in use in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith as well as throughout the Clone Wars. It's a reusable hyperdrive engine that you park in orbit when not in use. I'm guessing the plan is to have this massive ring fly out to the other galaxy, attach to Thrawn's Star Destroyer Chimera, and bring it back.

    I wish they gave Kanan a small mention during the training session on Ahsoka's ship since it was Kanan who trained sabine in season 3 episode of rebels trials of the dark sabre which i think is the best episode of rebels

    I've never commented on your posts but just wanted to say how much I love both your reactions (to various shows) and how emotional you are. I thought I was the only one who could cry at such things so easily! I'm loving Ahsoka, too though I wish this episode could have been a little longer. Something tells me the Ghost could show up next episode to assist Ashoka and Sabine, regardless the Senators. Once a member Hera's crew, always a member her crew. Rebels 4 Life!

    After I watched this episode, I was very excited to see your reaction due to the emotional impact of it. (I watch other reactors, but you're the emotional one that is needed, at least for me, it validates my emotions for SW). The training montage was awesome and expected due to Sabine's "rust" but damn, it was so cool. The Senate meeting, Hera! Just so friggin Rebels...loved her reaction to all of them. Jacen! Seeing nearly broke me. 😭😭😭 The space battle, Ahsoka's space walk, and Huyang being himself, just awesome. Seeing the Purrgil in live action, yeah, I cried. 😭😭😭 Let's think about who is behind this series...Filoni. Everything YOU wanted (we also want) is going to happen in some capacity and then some. This is ALL Filoni. The Director may change...but sheeeeeeeeeeit...this is Filoni animation into live action leading up to Filoni Movie. It's gonna be wizard!

    I agree with you on Baylon. His quiet brooding is more intimidating than the toddler like outbursts of Kylo Ren.

    Easily 11/10. This one episode did so much for Star wars than most of the content we've been given over the years. Between the writing, visuals,directing, acting and music it was just a perfect balance. It wasn't flashy but it gave so much more in return and reintroduced old ideas that made us all fall in love with the series in the first place.

    Even though it was only 30-plus minutes, this episode packed a lot of heat.
    It was great seeing development with Sabine as a potential Force user, the sequence involving Hera and the Senate being tense (nice seeing Jacen Syndulla for the first time) and that space battle looked quite cool.
    Obviously, I wish there was more runtime, but, alas, beggars can't be choosers.
    Excited for next week's episode!

    Marrok is 100% voiced by Sam Witwer in this ep, I’m pretty sure. Compare his voice to General Kael’s voice in the Willow show, it’s nearly identical but with *slightly* more digital manipulation.

    • @funnylilgalreacts
      @funnylilgalreacts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    • @jasonmarbach
      @jasonmarbach 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@funnylilgalreactsI’m seriously dang near 100% sure that’s what it is at this point. I was 90% sure after the premiere eps, but the voice thing in this ep sealed it for me. Want to hear why I’m so sure? I’ve got a whole theory tying into the deeper symbolism and stuff (which is the really compelling part of the rationale, to my writer brain)

    • @jasonmarbach
      @jasonmarbach 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@funnylilgalreactsalright I’m gonna copy and paste my theory here. I wrote it last week, but again, I’m even more convinced now:
      Marrok is a male character, based on Baylan using masculine pronouns for him and that his (Marrok’s) grunts when fighting Ahsoka sound male. I’d be more inclined to dismiss the grunts as perhaps a voice modulator or something if Baylan hadn’t used masculine pronouns. So, unfortunately, probably not Barriss, though I do still hope she’ll show up somehow.
      Also, again: it’s not Ezra. Why would he be back in known space without Thrawn? They have a whole “bust Morgan Ellsbeth out of jail, hunt down the maguffin, go on a quest beyond known space to find Thrawn” thing…while a guy in a mask is standing right next to them who knows where Thrawn is? Please. Dave isn’t a hack. Also, there’s another reason it isn’t Ezra, but I’ll get to that below.
      Yet, they’re playing up the mysterious identity of Marrok some through these first two episodes as if it’s going to be a cool reveal. Someone we know. Maybe it just ends up being a new character, that’s possible, and maybe I’m overthinking, but go with me on this anyway. Because this is Dave we’re talking about - I don’t think I’m overthinking. He tells deep, complex stories and is unafraid to set up story points YEARS in advance, patiently waiting to pay them off sometimes.
      First, we have the symbolism in the names. Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati are named after the wolves in Norse mythology, Skoll and Hati, who chase the moon and sun. Marrok is a knight in Arthurian legend who turns into a wolf. Wolves are all over rebels mythology. Okay, so we have that aspect. Dave loves deeper symbolism and allegory, you get it.
      Then, we have the symbolism of The Father, The Daughter, and the Son, as told through the Mortus arc in clone wars. The father represents the *balance of the force* through both light and dark. And the father’s force progeny represent light (the daughter) and dark (the son). We already know Ahsoka represents the Daughter literally and figuratively, in the symbolism, after the mortus arc. Morai is always around her. I think Anakin clearly represents the father, as the chosen one who would bring *balance to the force* according to prophecy, and Ahsoka is not his literal progeny, but rather, is his *force* progeny. His apprentice, whom he taught the ways of the force. And she represents the light.
      Who would represent the son? Not ezra, who never even knew Anakin and certainly wasn’t trained by him (the other reason it isn’t Ezra).
      No, symbolically, the son would be a representation of Anakin’s other force progeny. A man anakin trained. Anakin’s only other apprentice…ever.
      The character Dave Filoni once told Sam Witwer he considered making an Inquisitor in Rebels.
      The man whose actual name is Galen. *Marek*
      Folks, Marrok is Starkiller.
      Book it.

    • @jasonmarbach
      @jasonmarbach 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think they’re absolutely nerfing him (because they’d absolutely have to, Starkiller was stupid broken in the games in terms of his power scale) and probably retconning him some. But I’m almost certain it’s essentially him.

    Marrock I'm pretty sure is played by Sam Witwer, he did Maul's voice in Clone Wars and Rebels, did Palpatines voice in Rebels, got his start as his likeness and voice were used in the Force Unleashed video games as Starkiller who was Darth Vaders dark side apprentice. As this show focuses so heavily on masters and apprentices I think it may be revealed that Marrock was Vaders dark side apprentice and him Ahsoka will be a big plot point. They can't use the real Starkiller as he is too powerful for movies/shows I mean he pulled a Star Destroyer out of orbit in the games, but a lower powered version of him going against Anakin's light side apprentice may be what happens here.
