I don't understand his reaction. Homelander is at best, unstable, but he knows damn well he's threatened A-Train's life a hundred times, and the only thing that kept him in check was his greed and cowardice. This isn't like Noir who was there from the beginning and withheld so much from him.

He knows his employees work for him under threat of personal injury, he's already mentioned it this season by pointing out he's surrounded by sycophants who are afraid of him. So his reaction makes no sense, we are not shown he has any type of personal connection to A-Train at all for him to be able to even be betrayed.
Whenever a shapeshifter is introduced, you have to watch out & imagine all the possibilities when someone’s an imposter. Poor Hughie been through too much already.
I knew it was the shapeshifter but I thought she was just going to touch Annie take her form and then kill the President I didnt see the Hugie angle at all.

Everyone says that Antony Starr deserves Emmy's and GG's, and while I don't disagree, Colby Minifie should be included in that conversation. She is just perfection on this show!
Seasons 1&2 I'd disagree, but she's had a much more varied and interesting character progression lately, including Gen V, and been excellent. Honestly, there really isn't a weak link in the whole cast, and that's remarkable in itself. Obviously everyone has their favourite actor/s, but the whole cast has gelled together and has genuine chemistry.
A lot of people miss it, but Noir and Deep actually showcased how durable they both were on the bro scene. They were actively healing their wounds and walking more steady down the hallway. By the time they see Sage, they are pretty much fully healed. I thought that was really cool.
Yeah the Deep was a joke for most of the show because of the writing, but if all Starlight can do to him is knock him out, then he's strong and durable af, and we have no idea how strong Noir II is. I think maybe A-Train could've Blue Hawk'd the Deep, but it'd take a longer distance and higher speed maybe
@@pabloc8808 he definitely could have to a degree, but I think deep is actually physically stronger than A-train. So he may be able to get away before he's killed. But idk. I'm honestly just glad the deep got to show his power. He's a part of the Seven for a reason.

Annie kinda worded it properly in her apology in the mansion. She's sorry for what she did when they were kids, and we can feel sorry for her what happened at that time, but it does not excuse the garbage that she has been up to since then. Just because you're still struggling with yourself does not justify making the world a worse place. She's white trash because what she does is trash, which she could decide not to do and instead do something good, but she rather wants to see the world burn. Now that she's playing with fire (Homelander) she better look out that she herself doesn't get burned though.
Homelander told her what he wants, and Sage has a plan to make it happen, but she's surrounded by unpredictable self-centered idiots who won't sit down, stfu, and let her execute it.

While I was watching this episode, I had a thought about The Deep and his powers. What if he can't actually talk to sea animals? He can control them, make them do what he wants. What if he's subconsciously manipulating them while hearing/imagining what he wants/expects them to say. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a character in The Boys hasn't been all there mentally. Just hearing some of the things Ambrosius has said, it made me think that The Deep might be projecting/imagining those things. Food for thought.
When The Boys released information about V in early s2, he said he at some point started randomly hearing gold fishes begging for their lives when he was a kid. So not implausible but highly unlikely.

I would say that Sage saw MOST of this coming... Sage is truly a 3-D Chess player. So sees 10 possibilities and has 5 contingencies for each one then 5 contingencies for each of the contingencies. Then she sets her best course through with alternate courses based on what happens. All while honing in on her goal. Where as Homelander just sees the prize and makes his way to it like a charging bull. So she planned for all of this. As she said in the first episode. "I am rarely surprised..." It is not the ideal path she chose but I guarantee she has at least 5 workarounds in place at all times.

She really sells Firecrackers reactions to things. And yes, I think we'll see A-Train again. I'm just not sure if next episode or even next season but I would expect him to show up if we'd see some sort of big showdown happening at the end. But he now got a taste of what it means to be a hero and with his talk to MM it would be weird if he ends up chickening out after giving him that speech. I am pretty sure Sage planned for all of this, including Homelander firing her. I would not be surprised if she has some other grand plan this whole time. But it is hard to tell, I doubt she'd threw her notebook like that and the camera focuses on it if it wasn't intentional though. It's just hard to judge how smart she really is. Like, is she just very very clever, or is it at some ridiculous levels where she can almost see into the future by calculating all sort of possibilities as if it were a chess game?
“No, DON’T go to commercial!” was so perfect because Homelander made everyone afraid in that moment when he did it, but Ryan just makes people guilty as hell and sad for what they’re doing. I think he’ll be the key in whatever it takes to stop/take down Homelander.

He had more power in deciding to go into the house undercover than she in failing to literally read his mind that he is just playing along.

100% this season is going to end on a cliffhanger. Especially since season 5 is the last season. So whatever this cliffhanger is, it's gonna set the stage for whatever happens in season 2 of Gen V.
If you remember last season, when he first introduced Cassandra to Ambrosius, He pulled her out of a tank on the side of his bed. So I think that's where she goes to when she needs a quick little re dip in some water while they're doing what they do
One of the theories about Ashley is she took some of the missing V vials from Homelander's apartment when she left the apartment with well the Floater... This is one of the homages to the Boys comic books where when adults take V... They uhh.. have immediate bowl emergencies... So far the show hasn't done that little bit of nasty. But her hair is regrown/she's not wearing a wig/bald cap anymore. So her also being wasted and A train thinks she's drunk... Ehh she might be doing what atrain was going and extra dopping herself on V for a power boost. Her picture from Florence as a young woman shows her with a Che shirt so she used to be radical leftist/freedom fighter. So yeah maybe she's dosing herself up to go fight Homelander/ at least put up a fight and cause problems. Probably what Sister Sage was was setting up figuring maybe she could be like a temporary roided up Super Girl who says enough is enough and kicks Homelander's ass for a while during the decisive moments during January 6th. Hence why this was a Christmas episode. Season Finale the plan goes into motion on January 6th.

I held of watching any of The Boys s04 until today, and once I was done I jumped on your reaction vids. I've heard a few people complaining that this season lost it's edge, but I know the comics, and all I will say is that this season has set up it's finale better than the comics did. I can't wait to watch s04e08, and yours will be the first reaction I watch once it's over. 😁
Side note: I wish you would go to the theater to see Deadpool and Wolverine. It's gonna be mission impossible to stay away from spoilers by the time you get to see it at home...go see it on the big screen!

It really bothers me that Hughie and (not)Annie just went back to their own apartment to sleep like normal after Homelander sent the Deep and Black Noir to kill them all. Like, A-Train apparently took his family and went into hiding, MM sent his family out of the country... why the hell would Hughie just head home like it was any other night? Also, the shapeshifter apparently has the power to know things that only the person they're impersonating should know, since she referenced conversations that the real Annie had with Hughie and also knew the safe's combination.
I always find it interesting to watch different reactors watch the same programs to see what they feel necessary to edit or censor regarding visuals or dialogue, particularly with a property like The Boys.
The creature is a nod to Supernatural, the series developed by Kripke. And yes, it is a shape shifter. I have to believe if Sage is the smartest person in the world, that she has recognized dozens of contingencies and is playing a mega-dimensional chess game. Am I being to hopeful to think A-Train is too obvious a choice to be killed in the season finale? The Deep has truly gone over the cliff in declaring he would kill all his brothers and sisters in the ocean if Homelander so much as lifts his little finger. All he is now is a weapon.
I think Starlight is going to get a massive power-bump and become the big weapon against Homelander instead of Ryan. Wouldn't be shocked if Homelander ends-up killing Ryan somehow so Butcher goes full psycho and gives into Kessler for the final season, too.
Can't make fun of Michigan because I might live there. Plus, Flint isn't the worst place here, James Earl Jones moved to my hometown and didn't speak for 7 years 😅 There is this curious thing about viruses and bacteria, though. Sometimes, they use this fun mechanism called sideways gene transfer to steal advantageous adaptations from their hosts, and that could be really bad news considering what Kimiko's abilities are.

I think everything is still going exactly according to plan for Sage. I think she's working with Newman even before they met in the previous episode. How did Newman know about Hughie's father's death? I think because Hughie's mother works for Vaught and Newman has her on her side. I wouldn't be surprised if Hughie's mother poisoned Hughie's father on behalf of Newman and then gave him V, which didn't end well. So unintentionally led to his death, which is why Newman is sorry. She needed someone in Hughie's life and brought his mother back to keep an eye on him. Newman also wanted Hughie's father to live as a Sup because of the virus, so that the boys wouldn't use it, because it could also kill Newman's daughter. I think all of this is part of Sage's plans. I think Sage is working with Newman even before the first episode of this season and Ashley in some way as well. Ashley was the one who brought Sage to Homelander's attention. The collaboration with Newman or Sage could therefore also be the reason why Ashley cannot go away with Atrain. I think she is being blackmailed. Maybe with the fact that she let Meave go. When Sage blackmails her, Ashley also knows that she can't disappear because the smartest person in the world would have no problem finding her.
Tbh I thought Firecracker's story would go a different direction. That, because she's comparatively underpowered Homelander would have her start using compound v and A-train would have to warn her against it.
This season we have tentacle monsters, skinwalkers, and things that the human mind should never learn... It's almost as if someone behind the scenes kinda wants this show to go full Lovecraft. 🐙
Episode 6 isn't in this playlist. It was great, a real knotty episode. Angela's reaction to the cake was glorious. Tilda was on the bed a few episodes back for at least several minutes, so not sure why she suffocated so quick. IRL octopi have been known to walk around outside their tanks. The closet scene was funny/tragic though. Kimiko still feels the pain, she just gets over it quickly. Just like some other short girl with super healing from TV. Least Kimiko has super strength too. Careful about leaning sideways in those chairs. They are great, but too much can mess your back up big-time.
I know a lotta people are saying "Welp, A-Train's gonna die soon," but I really hope they're wrong. It'd be a waste, after a 4 season-long arc of becoming a better supe. And the Boys could really use a speedster on their side. And maybe Sage will join up with the Boys too. She's the smartest person in the world, maybe she could work with Frenchie to hone in on the specific virus they need.

Man, this season just feels like a bunch of stuff thrown together. It’s like they had an intern binge the last three seasons and try to come up with a Greatest Hits to put together into the fourth season, but without any of the context. “OK guys, we gotta do it really violent thing, and we gotta do a weird sexual thing, and we gotta do the thing where nobody wants to work with butcher, but then they work with Butcher anyway. And we definitely need to do a breastmilk thing, and then. New stuff? I don’t know, maybe Frenchie goes to prison? OK but that’s kind of lame so maybe he’s just out like two episodes later or whatever. Maybe we kill off Kimiko? No, that’s too big of a commitment, we’ll just scare the audience for about 10 seconds. Maybe Annie feels conflicted again about stuff for some reason? And then there’s like a virus that can kill superheroes, but they lose it. But then they find it again. But then the guy says there’s no way I could make this without killing everybody. But then he makes it anyway without killing everybody, I guess, and now we have it, I guess. Something something, end on a cliffhanger.“
The biggest mistake was not finishing off the deep in black noir a train was there he could have went back down grabbed the black noir brought him back up and they could have killed the black noir and the deep together right there keeping a train's cover intact while getting rid of two soups I am dumbfounded on why they didn't finish the job I don't understand

I would say that Sage saw MOST of this coming... Sage is truly a 3-D Chess player. So sees 10 possibilities and has 5 contingencies for each one then 5 contingencies for each of the contingencies. Then she sets her best course through with alternate courses based on what happens. All while honing in on her goal. Where as Homelander just sees the prize and makes his way to it like a charging bull. So she planned for all of this. As she said in the first episode. "I am rarely surprised..." It is not the ideal path she chose but I guarantee she has at least 5 workarounds in place at all times.

And yes, I think we'll see A-Train again. I'm just not sure if next episode or even next season but I would expect him to show up if we'd see some sort of big showdown happening at the end. But he now got a taste of what it means to be a hero and with his talk to MM it would be weird if he ends up chickening out after giving him that speech.
I am pretty sure Sage planned for all of this, including Homelander firing her. I would not be surprised if she has some other grand plan this whole time. But it is hard to tell, I doubt she'd threw her notebook like that and the camera focuses on it if it wasn't intentional though. It's just hard to judge how smart she really is. Like, is she just very very clever, or is it at some ridiculous levels where she can almost see into the future by calculating all sort of possibilities as if it were a chess game?

I've heard a few people complaining that this season lost it's edge, but I know the comics, and all I will say is that this season has set up it's finale better than the comics did. It really bothers me that Hughie and (not)Annie just went back to their own apartment to sleep like normal after Homelander sent the Deep and Black Noir to kill them all. Like, A-Train apparently took his family and went into hiding, MM sent his family out of the country... why the hell would Hughie just head home like it was any other night?
Also, the shapeshifter apparently has the power to know things that only the person they're impersonating should know, since she referenced conversations that the real Annie had with Hughie and also knew the safe's combination.
I always find it interesting to watch different reactors watch the same programs to see what they feel necessary to edit or censor regarding visuals or dialogue, particularly with a property like The Boys.

I think Starlight is going to get a massive power-bump and become the big weapon against Homelander instead of Ryan. Wouldn't be shocked if Homelander ends-up killing Ryan somehow so Butcher goes full psycho and gives into Kessler for the final season, too.

I think everything is still going exactly according to plan for Sage. I think she's working with Newman even before they met in the previous episode. How did Newman know about Hughie's father's death? I think because Hughie's mother works for Vaught and Newman has her on her side. I wouldn't be surprised if Hughie's mother poisoned Hughie's father on behalf of Newman and then gave him V, which didn't end well. So unintentionally led to his death, which is why Newman is sorry. She needed someone in Hughie's life and brought his mother back to keep an eye on him. Newman also wanted Hughie's father to live as a Sup because of the virus, so that the boys wouldn't use it, because it could also kill Newman's daughter. I think all of this is part of Sage's plans. I think Sage is working with Newman even before the first episode of this season and Ashley in some way as well. Ashley was the one who brought Sage to Homelander's attention. The collaboration with Newman or Sage could therefore also be the reason why Ashley cannot go away with Atrain. I think she is being blackmailed. Maybe with the fact that she let Meave go. When Sage blackmails her, Ashley also knows that she can't disappear because the smartest person in the world would have no problem finding her.
So Sage her weakness is not being listened to and getting shot in the head

Tbh I thought Firecracker's story would go a different direction. That, because she's comparatively underpowered Homelander would have her start using compound v and A-train would have to warn her against it.
This season we have tentacle monsters, skinwalkers, and things that the human mind should never learn... It's almost as if someone behind the scenes kinda wants this show to go full Lovecraft. 🐙

Tilda was on the bed a few episodes back for at least several minutes, so not sure why she suffocated so quick. IRL octopi have been known to walk around outside their tanks.
The closet scene was funny/tragic though.
Kimiko still feels the pain, she just gets over it quickly. Just like some other short girl with super healing from TV. Least Kimiko has super strength too.
Careful about leaning sideways in those chairs. They are great, but too much can mess your back up big-time.
I know a lotta people are saying "Welp, A-Train's gonna die soon," but I really hope they're wrong. It'd be a waste, after a 4 season-long arc of becoming a better supe. And the Boys could really use a speedster on their side. And maybe Sage will join up with the Boys too. She's the smartest person in the world, maybe she could work with Frenchie to hone in on the specific virus they need.
From what I've seen I think A Train wins a fight against Homelander.
Annie still has her super strength; however, she is shackled in manacles that are designed to restrain supes.

The biggest mistake was not finishing off the deep in black noir a train was there he could have went back down grabbed the black noir brought him back up and they could have killed the black noir and the deep together right there keeping a train's cover intact while getting rid of two soups I am dumbfounded on why they didn't finish the job I don't understand
