I baked it last night and it taste so good!! I just realized how important it is to follow recipes in "Grams" and not in "Cups" coz it really gives you and exact measurement for each ingredients and you know you won't fail

Hii, did the bread turn out moist or was it more to the dry side?

  • @allishbamiano7638
    @allishbamiano7638 ปีที่แล้ว +372

    Notes For Myself:
    Dry Ingredients:
    •All-purpose Flour 1 3/4 (210g)
    •Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon
    •Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
    •Sea Salt 1/2 teaspoon
    Wet Ingredients:
    •Butter 1/2 cup (113g)
    •Sugar 3/4 (150g)
    -Granulated sugar 70g
    -Brown sugar 80g
    • 2 Eggs
    • Vanilla Essence 1 teaspoon
    • Cinnamon powder 1tsp
    • Bananas 3 medium
    Bake for 60 minutes at 350 F or 177 C.
    Mistakes To Avoid:
    1) Over mixing the flour: doesn't give the fluffy bread texture, instead you'll end up with a chewy texture.
2)Over mixing/ Under mixing the butter: You want to get a fluffy textured butter.
    3) Mis-measuring the ingredients, especially flour.

I have made 3 of these loaves so far.
I did exchange the flour for whole wheat flour.
    It didn’t create a problem.
It had a nicer texture to it than my other recipe.
We have decided that this will be our go to banana bread recipe now.
    Thank you for that.

Thanks so much for the tip on baking the bananas. Years ago I read to put brown bananas in the freezer to save for banana bread instead of throwing them out. I have been doing that for years now, when they thaw they are very liquidy and make the bread super moist. Going to try the baking method, so we don’t have to wait for brown bananas anymore ❤

If you have older bananas you can throw them in the freezer and take them out when needed. When you take them out, let them thaw for a bit and then take scissors or a knife and cut one end off and then squirt the banana into the bowl! It may look gross, but it will taste great in the bread! It will have such a nice, rich banana flavor!
I also use sour cream in my banana bread. I'm telling you, my friends have started asking for the chocolate chip banana bread over the plain banana bread. I use the same recipe for both, except adding in the chips for the one.
What's odd is that I was talking about banana bread at work right before I clocked out for the night and then came home and this recipe was here!

But if you bake them brown, can you still use the skins to make the essence of banana flavor? You know the way Sara Lee made the banana cream cheese frosting for the famous and my favorite banana cake ever? The Sara Lee Banana Cake, for those that haven’t heard of it, the cream cheese frosting has a bit of banana flavor that comes from boiling the peels and then gets added to the cream cheese frosting at the end. Once I had that first piece, it became my favorite. Even though they rarely offer it, I’m thankful that the Townsends made that dive into keeping that recipe alive! Someday I’m going to have the counter space to make it myself! But I would love to see you do with that what you will! Cupcakes, layers, sheet, maybe add some caramel sauce…. I really wish I had more than a foot of counter space… unfortunately, I can only live vicariously through those of you that do. So, if you would be so kind, that’d be truly appreciated! Btw, they’re here on TH-cam. And so is the video.

Have you ever tried what America’s Test Kitchen do with their “Ultimate Banana Bread” - microwave the bananas, drain the liquid and reduce it down to ¼? It makes a banana aroma bomb!
