As a Singaporean, I can tell u that if u are a foreigner then DO NOT go and eat at the hawker centre in mbs. Instead just go to a local hawker centre. The food is way better and much cheaper. I think this is the reason people find Singapore so expensive.

It's actually really cheap with converting currency. That pepper rice is very tasty btw but I think you ordered poorly. Other food at the same stalls are magnificent.
Dude that's the most expensive mall to eat at in SG of course its going to cost more than other places. That's extremely reasonable prices considering that's the luxary tourist shopping district.
This is why u don't eat at marina bay sands. U can get all those that u ate for cheaper at local places. That hawker place u ate is meant for tourists, hence the cost is higher compared to how it normally costs in a normal local hawker.

Yea holy shit a 25 dollars hokkien mee is crazy.
If you got time go to alexandra food village, many delicious things and way way cheaper. If you want some zichar with chilli crab, there’s keng eng kee nearby as well. It has like 5k reviews on google from mostly locals and has midnight hor fun, chilli crab? Coffee pork ribs. Mmm yum.

$1 SDG = $0.71 USD so it's totally worth it it you're from the US or UK

@Susanne Grabowski if you look at conversion rates it would be a $0.71 USD wing if it's a $1 SDG plus the wings I've gotten there are bigger than the ones I typically get in the US, plus better quality and flavor

$2.50 for one chicken wing?? That’s robbery, I live in Singapore and although I’ve never been to this food court (too broke 😭), this price is ridiculous.
Most normal Food courts are most definitely NOT this expensive 😭😭

If you want to eat in Singapore, make sure to check out the restaurant first. If many people come, it must be cheap and delicious. If the customers are only 4-5 people, it must be tasty but expensive or not tasty and expensive.

No Singaporean would step into that hawker centre. Too expensive and the food can be described as lacklustre. At that hour, hop on the downtown line to Chinatown or the Brown Line to Maxwell.

Not crabs though, they're about the same throughout Singapore.
But, crabs taste fabulous and are considered a high class dish.
Just know that you can eat all of those at a cheaper price and probably taste the same or better elsewhere in sg
as a local I must say that hokkien mee is usually not that watery and the prices are not that expensive

Omg Pepper Lunch!! We used to have a Pepper Lunch restaurant here in the city but they shut down :( I miss that place
i visited mbs a couple of times when i was little. every morning, i used to eat and spend at least 10-20 singapore dollars in one yong tau foo stand in there, the chef was a nice old grandpa, i think he also brought his grand child (or his kid, im not sure. but i remember the one who helped him around look really young) to work with him. i havent been visiting singapore these days so i really hope the grandpa is doing okay

As a person who goes to Singapore every holiday I suggest to not eat at mbs foodcourt because it's expensive. I suggest eating elsewhere but it's ok if you eat at MBS foodcourt too!

you could go to many other hawker stores and get much cheaper & way tastier local food elsewhere. marina bay sands and places that are filled with crowds are for tourists that’s why chicken wings for $2.50. the hawker centre near my house the chicken wings costs $1 for 2 wei🤤

I am from Singapore and we shun MBS Rasapura food court. Economical rice can cost you $15 or $20.
I do recommend R&B which is near the food court and I would definitely recommend the mango something I forgot the name but it includes crystal boba and a new drink and which includes many other drinks in the bottle i ordered the lemon tea which was delicious.
I normally go to the wonton noodle shop, they are amazing

As a Singaporean, I advise u to NOT gos to the food court at MBS is expensive and not always very nice maybe u can go to the hawker center at "old airport road" there is many good food there definitely better than the food at MBS
Btw if u are visiting Singapore do not go to the hawker centre in mbs the food there is so expensive just go to a local hawker centre you can get things there cheaper

Fellow singaporean here. Never go to malls for local dishes. Always go to the hawker centres more out of town or just try asking one of the locals.
