    Just got my wife the x5. I was looking at getting her the x3 m40i instead of the x5 or x6. We test drove all and ended up with a 2023 x5 40i with M sport package and 22" wheels. We absolutely love it and are obsessed with the B58. She had the B58 in her previous 340i. So we know how great a motor it is. The x3 m40i was quicker by far but we just couldn't get over how much cheaper it felt and it just didn't have that feel good factor when sitting in it doing regular day to day activities. Additionally, she also has a side job for decorating. So, the trunk space made a big difference. The weird trunk shape of the x6 ruled itself out for what she needs.

    Great comparison review. I would opt for a low spec X5 vs high spec x3 due to all the factors you covered. Plus, the 6 cylinder B58 engine is legendary. Thanks!

    Very informative. Surprised that the X3 and X5 are that close in size. In person, the X3 looks noticeably smaller, but BMW did a nice job in the seat positioning.

    Comfort, drive and performance is what matters w the BMW. I’m def leaning to the X5, coming from a 535i xdrive I don’t wanna loose that performance

      Very true, that's what BMW has built it's reputation on! In your case, if you've become accustomed to the performance of a 6-cylinder, you'd be best suited by either the X5 or X3 M40i. Once you have the performance, it's hard to give it up!

    Recently bough an X5. The X3 is nice, although I prefer the look of the Audi Q5 over it, but the X5 was just better in every way. Like this guy said, it's just nicer. It feels nicer. It rides nicer. The interior is nicer. Although it should be since it does cost more.

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly. They're both very nice and premium feeling cars, but the X5 just feels a bit more solid and refined, as it should considering the price point.

    Decided in 2019 for x5
    However, tested both and the room in the x5 is much more and more comfortable as maybe some data let you think

    You forgot to mention the difference in the screen size and the tailgate on the X5

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว

      Both good points! The split tailgate specifically is a nice added benefit of the X5. For those that don't know, the X5 has a split opening tailgate. The lower 1/4 opens separately from the upper 3/4. This provides various options for opening the tailgate, as well as a place to sit in the rear of the car.

    What didn't you compare same engine specs; would have been fair. My 2020 x3m40 has 90% features of this x5 and wins in the performance dept with ~385hp. I also get 28mpg consistently with mostly hway driving at 60mph.

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is a very fair question... however, we wanted to go base model vs. base model because those are the models that most people shop for. Also, dimensions, space etc. will be the same regardless of trim. That said, I do like the idea of doing a higher trim or performance lower model vs. a base, higher model. Maybe we'll try that in the future!

  • @UltraTaco223
    @UltraTaco223 ปีที่แล้ว

    in concrete terms, what does the X5 have thats more luxurious than the X3? The dash and seats look basically the same. Are the seats exactly the same? I thought the X3 was just a slightly mini X5. Also Im still confused at how the X3 has more legroom and headroom despite having smaller dimensions

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว

      The X5 has softer, plusher seats that are more comfortable. It also has a significantly more supple ride, contributing to the more luxurious feel. The steering and handling is smoother as well. There are also luxury options available on X5 that aren't available on X3 (e.g. massaging seats, multi-function seats, heated/cooled cupholders etc.).
      Regarding the dimensions, it's all about packaging. The X5 is larger, but it's additional size mostly contributes to increased cargo space, rather than passenger space. Additionally, the engine bay has to be able to fit a V8, which isn't available in th3 X3, so some of that additional size contributes to that as well.

    • @BN-ku7br
      @BN-ku7br ปีที่แล้ว

      Can only comment on the seats, more specific the comfort seats available in the X5. They are terrific and makes the X3 and X5 very different imo. This is no competition, X5 any time imo. Just buy it and enjoy!!
