    For the sprint mode there is a button on the bottom of the accelerator. What you must do is just fully press the accelerator then push it a slight more until you feel the accelerator click and the car automatically goes into sprint mode.
    I believe that this feature is standard in every BMW

    Great video! The only one I didn't know about was that you CAN in fact close the windows with the keyfob. I've tried it before but it never worked and I figured it was due to safety concerns. I remember it did work on my 21 SQ5 but maybe I was close to the car every time I did it. I also love how the sunroof controls are based on how many times you press the button. Single tap to open shade, double tap to open shade and roof. I also have a 2022 GLC43 and if you double tap the sunroof button it will stop on the second tap.
    Also, not pumping your own gas is the weirdest concept to me.

      One more cool trick with the keyfob, if you press the Lock button three times while the car is locked, it will automatically start the engine for you just like if you had done it with the app. I believe there's one other setting you have to enable in the car to do that, but it's a great feature if you want to let your car warm up/cool down and you're within range of it.

    What if you want the driver’s side mirror to tilt down? I think it was in our Acura that the middle position was neutral, and then the mirrors tilted if you slid the button left or right depending on which mirror you wanted to tilt.

    Thank you for this informative video. You mention at 1:21 if you use the manual key it will set the alarm off. What is the point of that if you are using a manual key? How do you turn off the alarm when the key fob isn't working? Is it done by holding the dead key fob next to the steering column and starting the vehicle?

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome, glad you found it useful! Correct, that's how you would turn the alarm off, by starting the car with the dead key by holding it to the steering column. As for what the point of the alarm going off is... that's a good question which I don't have the answer to unfortunately. I'm sure someone at BMW has a good reason for it, but I'm not sure what that would be.

    • @iH85CH001
      @iH85CH001 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say that in most circumstances other than personal preference of using the physical key, is that, if youre using the key to get in, its likely the car battery is dead, and in which case, the alarm wouldnt work either. However, you would be able to get in, to allow the vehicle to be towed, or to pop hood, etc. That would be my guess, though i can understand the annoyance and need for an option in iDrive for this to be disabled if preferred. Options for everything is always a good thing imo.

    Hi ! I have a question here from Germany. Does this (1:12) work the same on my BMW M440i Coupe too? The car in the video has a button under the door handle to press. But on my car there is no button to press under the door handle. Thank you !

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello from New Jersey! It works similarly on the 4 series' flush door handles, but even easier. Instead of removing the small plastic cap as seen on this X3, you simply open your door handle completely and peek underneath the open handle. On the very far right side of the door handle, you'll see a place to insert the key. Let us know if you'd like further clarification!

    12:50 The reason the sunroof only opens most of the way is because of wind turbulence at speed. If it goes to the second position then you will hear much more noise so it is best used for low speeds only.

    Question for you. I have a 2015 F15 and I see that later models have a toggle switch that puts the car in “jack” mode, deactivating the air suspension. I’ve swapped shocks and airbags already by myself but I wasn’t aware of this jack mode feature. So far I haven’t observed any issues but I’m about to rotate my tires whereby I’ll be jacking up the front and then rear of the car. So - does the F-15, 2019 have a jack mode and if so how do I engage it because I do not have the toggle switch I’m observing in newer models. Thank you!

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว

      As you noted, newer air suspension equipped models do have a jack mode, activated and deactivated by toggling the air suspension adjustment switch forward or backward for approximately 7 seconds until the LED indicator turns off. I'm not sure if any similar feature exists on a 2015 model. If it does exist, I'd guess it's in the service menu (aka secret menu as referenced in this video).

    You can remove the safety with a coding application like BimmerCode.
    I find that safety feature redundant; if you have to stay standing next to the car, you might as well get in and use the one touch option that comes with the windows and sunroof buttons, especially if it’s starting to rain.
    Since I’ve removed it from my X3, I’ve used the key fob several times to close my sunroof or rear window left open by my kids, right from the confort of my mom’s living room.
    Edit:
    12:33
    I also removed the automatic start/stop option AND selected sport mode to be the by default setting when starting the car.
    I also activated the rear fog lights and have my rear lights as running daylights option.

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True on both accounts! Coding opens a whole world of options on how to alter factory, non-customizable settings. I've heard that Bimmercode is great, but of course as a dealer we can't do these sorts of services.

    I'd say Dyno mode is something a lot of customers would want to use, especially since the B58 is known to be underrated. I know my X3 M40i is going on the dyno as soon as its broken in (700 more miles).

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely! For our more enthusiast/tuning oriented customers, dyno mode could definitely be useful. We didn’t really get into it for the sake of time, and because *most* customers probably won’t use it, but it definitely has a time and place for certain people. If you can remember, come back to let us know how much power your X3 puts down after it hits the rollers! I suspect that you’ll find the factory figures to be a bit conservative as you mentioned :)

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the newer X3M40i, X5/6/7, M340i etc. (all the cars that use the 48v mild hybrid system and lack the hard button to turn it off), switching back to comfort will re-enable the start/stop, so it's only disabled when sport mode is active. However, a workaround is to configure your sport mode to have all comfort settings, so all it effectively does is disable auto/start stop when engaged.

    Hi, I think you left off one of the best "hidden" features of BMWs - and that is the ability to code functions of the vehicle to the radio preset buttons. For instance, you can code to navigate home to your address just by pushing whatever radio preset button you assign....or access the sound options with just a press of a pre-assigned button, etc. Also, you can (almost) completely turn off the vehicle stability control but a long depress of the DST button.

      Interesting question regarding your G42... as long as the mirror adjustment switch is toggled to the left, the passenger mirror should tilt down when reversing. Are you able to move the mirror for normal adjustments? If not the motor may be broken. If so, I suppose it is possible that certain G42s didn't get this feature. If that's the case, here's a trick you can try: set your #2 memory setting to all the same parameters as the #1 setting, only have the passenger mirror tilted down for reversing. This effectively gives you the option of manually tilting the mirror with the press of a button.

    Having the shifter move back when pressing the parking button isn’t really a party trick. 😊
    For those of us who live in a colder climate, driving a “e” model, moving the gear shifter to the left with the ignition on, will start the engine. Pressing the parking button will then obviously put the car in park, but more importantly keep the engine running, heating up the cabin, while you can exit the car and scrape the frost off the windows. Quite useful if you’re not lazy and have time to wait for the cabin heat to defrost the windows for you.

    Is there a way to quickly switch to Sport Mode without looking for the sport mode button or switching to manual? Audi has a feature to pull the shifter back to alternate between sport mode and normal mode. It really helps in defensive driving and needing to overtake while maintaining eyes on the road. This is a feature I love and the only thing keeping me from getting a BMW.

    • @arijano82
      @arijano82 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just move the shifter to the left

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
      @bmwofmorristown9038  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not super familiar with Audi's system, but BMW offers quite a few ways to enter either the sport transmission mode or sport drive mode. They are: 1. hold left paddle to engage sprint mode. Re-engage "normal" mode by either switching shifter to left then right OR by holding down on left paddle. 2. press sport mode button. 3. Switch shift lever over to the left. This will engage the sport transmission mode (for quicker passes) without engaging manual model. Manual mode can be engaged from here if desired, by clicking a paddle shifter, but is not mandatory in the sport transmission mode. Disengage this mode by putting the shifter back over to the right. Hope this helps!

    When you do a video like that one, be sure to go through what you need from the camera person for each feature. For example, on the first one, namely what one does with the dead key fob, the camera should be been focused with the camera person opening the passenger door and doing the close up from there. When you had to tell him what you wanted, it became apparent that you did not review each step with him or that you just pulled him off the street.

    As for the sunroof being fully opened I do not recommend this. Once you’re at normal driving speeds it will buffer like crazy hence is why it stops at a certain point by the manufacturer. Nice if you want maximum sunlight but bad if you want to have a pleasant driving experience.

    • @bmwofmorristown9038
