I prefer the 2024. The new design seems too radical for myself, especially the interior. The older design has a sleek appearance. Seems like the trend the last several years is for manufacturers to put huge truck like grills on cars. They get bigger and bulkier and uglier on every new model. (not just BMW) However just my opinion, others may love it. Thanks for posting!
The diagonal strakes in the front grill of the redesigned 2025 model remind me of what Volvo did with the new 2025.5 XC90. I think I like the exterior design of the 2024 X3 better than the 2025 X3; the 2025 has a generic look that reminds me of the iX, especially the side profile. The 2024 model has more character, IMO. I love your comparison reviews - keep them coming!!
I have the 2023 X3, premium package, tecora red interior with alpine white outside. Its the body style up to this latest POS that they made for 2025. Ive test driven the new tech and EVERYTHING is in the infotainment! Including turning on your AC quickly on hot days. They took a SUV Ive loved for years and turned it into a Buick or something? I had an X1, got the X3, and will not be buying another now and I LOVEDDDDD BMW. What a shame what they did with this monstrosity….
@@VagabondBuildsimo no, it comes down to esthetics, yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there are generally more pleasing lines to the eye (think supermodels, nice suits, etc), the new one is just ugly
I had previously 3 X3s. For the first time I saw a downgrade in quality and even the absence of some nice features. Unfortunately it all comes down to shortening the overall cost of the vehicle. So I’ve moved to an X5 and I’m quite pleased despite not being as fun to drive as the G01.
If you are willing to overlook the additional use of plastic in the new X3 and the non split sunroof it is objectively a better car. It actually has noticeably better ride quality (smoother base suspension, more noise insulation, a more fluid steering response and more reactive sports mode (as much as a B48 can be anyway). The exterior has a lot more presence and makes it look like a larger car (particularly from the side profile) yet you do still have the nimbleness of a X3 (it scores a higher drag coefficient as proof of that). The grill is a head turner at night with the illuminated grill (seeing it in person is a different vibe). The seats on the X3 are miles better, more cushioning, larger base and fun more pronounced side profiles (seriously I have tired sitting for prolonged periods in both). The gas mileage on the new 2025 makes the 2024 look thirsty, based on my personal use case I am getting between 20-25% more mileage per gas fill vs a friend a who owns the last gen 30i. The ambient lighting is vastly more noteable on the front and actually doesn't look like another generic implementation. The rear backlighting is a shame on the 2025 though, they just illuminated the inner door latch slots and called it a day (they deserve the heat for that one!). You also have more cargo space beneath the floor carpet btw. The X3 still has the classic BMW traits that most people buy X3's for. That extra clamp of plastic is not going to steal your sense of luxury lol. None of this is to say the 2024 isn't an amazing car. I just feel people are comparing a whole generation to a newer car that's barely been out a few months. This car is far from perfect and plays it safe for sure but it has improvements where they (often) count the most (drive quality, drive comfort and tech).
The tech and ride wasn't enough to persuade me over to the 25. The 24 exterior just looks more aggressive and in some ways more modern to me, being new to BMW. The features that are now gone are pretty disappointing! The overall quality and more plastics are as well. Even the H/K sound system is inferior, according to DM Sounds. I'd much prefer to be seen and to be in the 24 M40i. Even though the 3rd gen B58 has more power and torque, the vehicle is heavier, and the 3rd gen engine still has kinks to work out. BMW states 0-60 as 4.4 secs for both vehicles. I hope the LCI has some significant changes, or I won't consider another X3 in the future.
Hello, on the new model, I see that the LED headlights are the original headlights and not the adaptive headlights. Could you tell me for sure if the new BMW has light animations at unlocking? Because I don't know if these light animations are related to the IconicGlow Pack or the AdaptiveLight Pack. Thanks
@ 1. Hate the new kidney grilles with vertical & diagonal lines & it just looks worse than old grille from some angles. 2. Detest the back side of the car. Shape and look is worse. The smaller rear window and the lights. I do not like at all 3. Do not like the single massive screen. Or center console 4. Hate that ac controls are now touch screen.
I love the 2025 on the outside but the 2024 on the inside, i still like the outside of the 2024. I keep hearing the new inside is cheap. I am not a big fan of the overall car industry trends of big screens on the dash, i can’t wait for that trend to die. I sat in a BMW i7 and i found that pushing the buttons on the door, on that led ban, felt so cheap, is that a BMW trend??
Where's the dash vents? The side vents look tiny and the center vents are almost nonexistent. Would like to read owners comments in hot weather about cooling in hot climates. Another miss by designers at BMW.
@VagabondBuilds not feeling the redesign, unesthetic grill and exterior, disco lights, door pulls on interior and exterior look cheap, etc. the only thing I like is the engine performance

Thanks for the opinion! I’m a fan of the big grills. But again all preference 😅
Ya the cheaper interior materials
On the 2025. No thanks
The new one is hidious. Old one is beautiful
I hear ya… I think it comes down to preference
Just got the 24. Better looking inside and out. Too many features gone in the 25. It was easy.
Oh… glad you like your buy!
It is not. 2024 X3 is lame.
@@ragnarlothbrok2782Sure. Make your case.

Thanks for the compliment. I can’t blame you for your taste, I’m currently in the middle and I understand what you’re saying.

Thanks for sharing but sorry to hear so honestly.
The 2024 is a thing of beauty. This new one is horrid
Would you say it comes down to preference?
@@VagabondBuildsimo no, it comes down to esthetics, yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there are generally more pleasing lines to the eye (think supermodels, nice suits, etc), the new one is just ugly
I'm liking the exterior but still on the fence with the interior. Thanks for the comparison.
Fair enough! Glad we can help! We hope you the best!

I have to say many are saying the same thing.
The new one looks like a swollen rhino omg
Haha I’ve gotten hipo haha
O 2025 realmente virou um novo carro muito mais bonito e elegante. Parabéns pelo review.😊
Thank you! Appreciate the support!
They could’ve made it so nice - like the new Q5, which is a stunner.
Hmmmm. Are you going Audi? I would say this doesn’t compete with q5 but maybe q3 or q4
@ Well the X3 is bigger than the Q5, longer than 3 or 4 inches
Excellent review!!!
Thank you kindly! Glad we can be of help!
Excellent review guys. You should be at 100k in no time. Would take the 2025 .
Fingers crossed! Thanks for the support!!

Hit the nail on the head. Explained it perfectly.
I appreciate your detailed review! It’s good to hear about the pros and cons you've experienced.

Wow, the old model has a sooo much better quality interior. Shame as the exterior looks fairly interesting.

The headlights do have adaptive technology.
appreciate designers going bold but they missed the mark badly on this one.

I immediately got distracted when Galantis started playing in the background.
Sorry, we couldn’t control the music back there haha
I sure miss the interior amber lighting of BMWs and analog gauges.
You can always change the colors back to the original color that bmw always had, but I do hear you with the regular cluster and lightings
I’m sure what you meant to say was, the “previous model” as opposed to, “the old one.”
Haha 🤣 sorry!
In Canada heated seats are option and the charge is 1000. This is really stupid 😮😮🤔🤔
Oh. Make sure to get them!

Well it’s an overall manufacturer trend. It’s what is coming in on these new cars. I feel like the old tachs

Hmmmm… interesting point out… I have to pay attention to that.
Shame they stopped producing the X4 line-up , it was the best looking smaller suv line-up BMW ever did. This new X3 looks hideous.
You and many others are saying the same thing. Would you think it grows on you?
The rear lost the suv look, it looks more like a hatch
I see it… is that all you think about the new one?
Interior was better on the older one. Otherwise new is good
Nice. Thanks for your perspective!
looks like they tried to make it look like those electric cars. no for me.
Yea... it does have an electric vibe to it. What would you buy otherwise?
Specifically no sunroof 😢
I hear ya…
I was in 2025 , looked and felt really cheap plastics ….
.i did not like
So what would you buy otherwise?
🤣🤣🤣 just hilarious , design brand destroyed
What don’t you like about it?
No need of spare tire you have run flat tires
Yea… if the hole is small… always love my spare tires.
The new one looks like a hippo face 🦛
Haha haha I mean, I didn’t see it but now I kind of see it haha
❤
❤️
Radiator grille stolen
from Volvo XC90 🤦🤦🤦🤦
What??
Love the new
I like things on both styles….
The previous model will start to look outdated as soon as more of the new models hit the roads.
I can see that.
The old one isn’t a beauty but the new one is hideous.
So you wouldn’t do either?
My G01 looks better imo
Comes down to preference and that is the beauty of options.
I bought the new one. 2024 X3 is lame.
Why do you say it’s lame?
Yikes
What is the yikes for ?
@VagabondBuilds not feeling the redesign, unesthetic grill and exterior, disco lights, door pulls on interior and exterior look cheap, etc. the only thing I like is the engine performance
Design new BMW 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Why do you say so?
