When a bunch of people say these are amazing and put them number 1 then another bunch of people say they returned them immediately cause they suck it makes it really hard to buy a damn headset
Here is an honest review from me, I've had them for nearly a year now...:
SPECS: Sound is very good. Mic quality is not amazing, but does the job for gaming, talking to friends, etc. The buttons and features are really good. Surround sound is decent for hearing footstep locations in csgo and fortnite etc. The wireless sound really is lag free. If you leave them charging every night when you go to sleep, you will never ever have to charge while you play.
COMFORT: I was skeptical about the headband, but it's amazing. Most headsets I had before, the frame hurt the top of my head after a while, but this band is genius. The ear muffs are breathable so you never get hot ears. My ONLY complaint is that the material that seperates your ear from the speakers is quite thin, and for the first few weeks my ears did hurt after a few hours. That said, I was playing for like 5-6 hours a day easy.
I am very happy with them. There are some cheaper solutions if you don't wanna dish out 150 dollars, but if you want a headset that is gonna last, get this. Also get a little headset holder that clamps onto your desk, they are like 10 dollars, means you don't have to leave em down on a table and risk damaging over time. 8.5/10 glad I bought
How are these for movies do they make it feel really good?

Charles Gill they are good for movies, the sound is really crisp and not overly bassy. But you'd want to be using them for a lot of other stuff too to justify the price in my opinion
Hayden Cline A lot of the features on steelseries headsets aren't available on console. Surround sound, the chat/game volume mixer, stuff like that doesn't work on console so maybe stick with the brand you had, especially if they treated you well. Four years is a good lifespan too
I have the Arctis 5 and I love it. The mic is great and so are the drivers. The chatmix dial is fantastic, the only complaint I have I'd that it's a little big for my head.

what bout simultaneous audio inputs? can you, for example, plug USB into PS4 and use the line in on the wireless dongle to plug aux into a PC and listen to both audios at the same time?

I have used Astros a50 for the longest time but recently purchased two Arctis 7 headsets - one white & one black for son and I as we do game a lot, very happy with them bought them from Arctis website they had a flash sale about 2 weeks ago from $150 to $120 also they came with a free bonus extra leather head cushions + free shipping... FattiMcFattin would you say steelseries headsets are more comfortable than astros? i personally hate sound cancelling headsets and astros allow me to hear myself talk which i prefer, how do these compare? my a40s broke after 4 years and im curious to try a new headset
Hayden Cline I would recomend to not get a headset but headphones and ModMic 5 if on console and a stand by mic if on PC. I am on console and use ModMic 5 and Sennheiser 598 SE. It will beat any headset and i really recomend it if you have a budget arround 250$ :)
And btw if on console you will need an antlion Y adapter as well
Hi, looking for a wireless headset mainly used for gaming, movie, and music from a pc. I’m looking into this and audio technica ath g1wl, do you have any experience with the audio technica? If so, which one would you recommend?
I have an external mic setup currently and i was wondering if these would still be worth getting? Can i just have them hooked up to pc without constantly making sure my mic is muted? Currently i’m using a ps4 gold wireless headset, but i need to upgrade due to comfort problems and i want better sound quality.
I've been using these for a little under a week now. Moving down from the siberia 800's. These use the same drivers but they've been tuned really weird. Once you install the SSE software the sound stage goes to shite. It's not perfect to begin with because they lack power but the software makes them really shitty.
My advice for anyone who gets them. If you have to, install the software, then uninstall it and uninstall the headset drivers from the device manager, but I would suggest to jut not install the software and using your own favoured EQ program. Using windows Loudness EQ and bass boost I find helps a fair amount but your mileage may very.

Hey I know this video is a few years old but I was wondering if anybody has any input on cleaning these headphones. Are these easy to clean? Since they're white and I am human, I'm curious if I'm able to wipe them down for just a standard cleaning, etc. Some headphones I've had in the past have a kind of gummy rubber material that seems to absorb anything thus they can look grimey no matter how hard you scrub and try to keep them clean and fresh.
I'm fine with getting the black pair, but the white ones match my set up so I wanna know how easy it is to maintain their sparkle because I'm clumsy and need to be able to have headphones that can clean up nicely ^_^

You most likely got the 2019 edition. Not the original 2017 edition (there's also 2018 edition) both of those are a lot better than the 2017 edition

Ive used many popular gaming headsets but this is one of the best if not the best gaming headset I’ve ever used. I recommend investing in this headset.
It’s too low and sound is muddy. Basically garbage I wouldn’t even use this headset as a paper weight

Hmm... I dunno, I put those very same Arctis 7 to the test with the mic and placement according to SteelSeries tech support is close to the corner of your mouth. While I've done that I'm yet to discover how in fact they do the background noise cancelling as they do claim they are able to do it. The wait of those things do get to you over time, therefore, they aren't good for a larger than 4 hours gaming sessions without breaks. I tested them at work and they honestly suck badly.
Man they are fucking weightless thanks to that headband and aluminium frame. They hurt my ears after like 6 hours, but damn the weight is not an issue at all!

I just bought some and I can’t get the chat and game mixer to work correctly. When ever I move it, it lowers the chat and the game volume instead of balancing the two where I want them. I’m using a PS4, anyone have any suggestions?

my friend bought one and is having issues with his like its not allowing the voice to work like the voice aint showing up in the pannel on the pc like the bar doesnt move when you talk into the mic any one know a fix for that

hey you should start uploading in 4k it will make your 1080p quality even better
I did test it out a bit. Upscaled my 1080p footage to 4K but had to bump up the bitrate as well. And when I do that the file size becomes massive and with my 1Mbps upload it will take the entire day :(

They work with PC, PS4 and Nintendo switch.. for xbox you have to go wired
May I ask how you can set up the mixer between voice chat and game audio?
Your computer picks it up as 2 separate outputs so you can set it up like you would normally and then with the channel wheel on the right earcup you just slide the wheel to what you want to be louder.

I'm not sure if the Wireless works for consoles. Also the chat/game sound balancing wheel doesn't work for console. If you want one for just console, look at Turtle Beach

My review is strictly for those looking to buy this headset to play pubg on the ps4 console. I will begin by saying do not buy this headset to play pubg on the PS4. The reasons are: 1) it is so hard to hear enemy footsteps; enemies will sneak up on you and kill you. There is nothing you can do to the equalizer setting to fix this issue. I tried everything. 2) The chat mix dial does not work for the PS4 while playing pubg. The voice chat from your teammates will come in extremely loud and you will be begging everyone to turn their mic volume down. This gets extremely annoying. 3) The 7.1 surround sound does not work on PS4.
* I do not know how good this headsets work for computers or other games on the PS4; but if you are looking to play pubg on ps4 with this headset; then get ready to be extremely disappointed.
I loved how confortable they were so I was so disappointed that I had to return them. PS: Pubg is the only game I play.

trash mic test atleast move the mic around close and further away, mic is way clearer on most videos and you can also edit sound and mic settings which nobody mentions

for sound whoring THEY ARE TRASH... AVOID... for console playstation gold (new version) ...not the platinum... or astro a 50. on PC there are many better options... audiophile headphones with amp is the way to go... these headsets are just for looks.

I had to return them because the SOUND QUALITY SUCKED!! They sound like a cheap 30$ headset, they where so terrible that i had to return them just for that reason, seriously imagine explaining the warranty guy that the sound sucks, when i tried everything i have found fixing it on the internet. Usually they don't take devices for that kind of reason, but they said that i am not the first, and i got my money back... Bought logitech G933, MUCH BETTER SOUND QUALITY, and the software, but much worse build quality, tho sound is more important to me. Do not make the same mistake of buying them as i did. Allot of the reviews are paid.
