Just wanted make sure everyone knew that the Hyperx Cloud Flight does have a software called NGenuity that can be used to view the battery level and adjust eq of the headset just like the arctis 7. Other than that, great review.
thanks I didn't know that. I had been using Cloud Flight with VoiceMeeter Banana and using that for chat mix and using EQ there. Ok I installed NGenuity and while i can see battery levels I dont get any EQ settings there for the cloud flight

Adam Hey, the Cloud Flight's mic is great for a headset microphone. I actually recorded the video that has almost 20k views on my channel with it if you want to hear it. That was with almost no editing to the audio being one of my first videos. It however just break for me after 3 years I believe. It was a great mic while it lasted but when it finally quit on me I decided to get the new ModMic 5 and it is even better. But back to your questions, the mic is great and has no static or whitenoise as you can hear in the recording. good review. I ordered the flights yesterday. the big point of criticism on the internet was always that the microphone is very bad. I think it's completely sufficient and isn't really worse than that of the steelseries. precisely because the flights currently only cost ~80 euros and the steelseries have remained at the same price level as they were back then.
You are definitely giving a more in depth review than most, and I really appreciate it, I do have SOME criticism in testing perimeters. Honestly, hearing through crappy headphone will make any sound crappy and I understand this dynamic. My point is mostly that while recording the sound being played from the dummy's mouth, the microphones were not in a remotely similar position. Having mic'ed guitar cabinets, THIS MAKES A GIGANTIC difference in what you are recording. Microphone placement on a speaker is doing so much of the choosing of which frequencies are amplified. I know this is hard to standardize. Maybe a small block that is a marker for distance AND position? The sound from the speaker test is spot on. I don' want to sound ungrateful, just want to improve the quality of review. The microphone placement was VASTLY different. A final note, I am a tattoo artist and musician, I do NOT work for any headphone company.

Awesome review. I have both and I can confirm this review is almost spot on. You really can’t go wrong with either headphone. Me personally I prefer the Arctis 7 ever so slightly more mostly because I feel they are more comfortable because of the headband and also the visual mute led indicator on the mic where as the flight only has an audible beep that you can barely hear.

But ultimately I would go with the arctis 7 because of 2 small reasons. 1st is the arctis 7 is more comfortable over long periods because of the fabric cups plus very little pressure on top of the head. 2nd is the dongle has a line out which auto switches to your speakers when turned off. I guess you can also tell when you use your mic mute thanks to the led light in the mic.
The quality of this review blew me away! The video popped up after another review had finished playing and I almost skipped it to move onto some gameplay or something. I am so happy that I didn't, this was an amazingly well done comparison and I will certainly be watching some more of your videos!

I had the steelseries arctis 7 and currently using Hyperx cloud flight I prefer the flight cuz i felt i could hear the enemy's better in gaming unlike the arctis 7 i had no clue where they are and flight feels way better and lighter on the head
MBA x I thought I was the only one who felt like this lol playing cs go was difficult at times cuz I couldn't hear footsteps and now with these I can hear way better 👍🏽
@@YonkersDolphin @MBA x For both of you, I would suggest for footsteps you would turn off the extra h whatever option as that gives more detail to the location awareness, along wth playing with your settings for sounds like that.
It really impressed me that with the hyperx you could play for 30hrs without chargering once.And that it only takes 3.6hrs to get to 100% And also a great review👍

@@dzzzeno5231 It feels really great very comfy for my big head, but there is a price to it tho, the cloud flight has static noise comes out of it if it is close to wifi router, it only happens when you're on Windows but on mac there is no static noises at all, I use it with my Dac/Amp FiiO K3 and it's super good in critical hearing department. Also no static noises when attached to FiiO K3.

I first booked the Bose QC35ii, but after learning about the firmware issues I canceled the order and went for the Artics 7. It should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully, it won't disappoint ...
Great review! A heads up, however The Hyper X Flight works on the Switch wirelessly with a new firmware update! It’s also a shame Microsoft doesn’t allow USB audio devices on the Xbox for no good reason..

I'm shopping for a new headset for my son, who has an Xbox and a Switch. He currently has the HyperX Cloud II set which he has been complaining about not working properly. He wanted a new wireless HyperX pair. Thanks to this review, I now know that it would not be compatible with his Xbox gaming. I did like the sound quality a bit better for the HyperX... PSYCHO plug the 3.5mm jack into the x1 controller That’s the only downside. its not truly wireless with the x1 because you are tethered to the controller
I have the SteelSeries Arctis 7 which I really like for the separate chat channel but I don't really like the muddy low mids, even messing with the EQ I could not get it the way I like and always a little either "boxy" or muddy. Recently I got the Hyperx Cloud Flight and while I agree there might be a little too much on the high end it has an overall better sound that can be fixed with EQ With my aged and hearing loss in those higher freqs, it sounds great as is. I do like to boost the bass some more though and that is what I can not do with Arctis 7

I very much prefer the sound from the cloud flight but the Arctis 7 is good for gaming. Has that second channel for chat volume control and a better and louder microphone. I use the Arctis 7 for multiplayer games and cloud flight for other games and everything else.

If you like the sound out of the hyper cloud 2 you might be disappointed with the arctics 7 sound. Cloud flight is kind of similar to cloud2. maybe abit weaker around the lower end. Arctis 7 sounds very different. I take out a lot around the middle and boost the lows on the 6 band EQ but it still sound a little boxy and muddy and never has much depth on the very low end even when boosted. It will sound ok though just not as nice, in my opinion.

He didn't mention that the Flights have a mic mute button on the side of the left ear cup which I love. He points at it but only mentions the power button.
I wanna see the fequency responce of the arctis using the standard earcups and then the leather ones! I assume that graph will change a lot! Results will be interesting though for all the types of headphones to see what changes can be seen using leather earcups rather than the normal ones!

Here's a tip for Cloud Flight owners, the headset accepts the V-Moda Boom Pro, I'm not a console player myself but it seems like a good option to have, also to use it with mobile phones or tablets.

I have both. Arctis feels built better, looks nicer with less plastic, and has more features, especially the chat volume rocker. Flight can also have some reception issues even when close to the receiver. The wired dongle of the Arctis seems to perform better despite being more cumbersome.

Great review, my G930 has finally fell to bits so I've now settled for the Arctis 7.

I got the Arctis 7, and the steelseries equalizer kinda sucks, so i got peace equalizer, and now the audio is beautiful after adjusting to my likings

How exactly? The Steelseries website doesn't mention Xbox One compatibility.

@@naimnajmi3489 If you don't need the separate chat channel for chat volume mix then I;d go cloud flight. If you like the sound out of the hyper cloud 2 you might be disappointed with the arctics 7 sound. Cloud flight is kind of similar to cloud2. maybe abit weaker around the lower end.
Arctis 7 sounds very different. I take out a lot around the middle and boost the lows on the 6 band EQ but it still sound a little boxy and muddy and never has much depth on the very low end even when boosted. It will sound ok though just not as nice, in my opinion.
This is a fantastic review and you guys produce a lot of awesome information. However, I am a little puzzled that you have so many headsets reviewed on your website, but do not have the official playstation gold or platinum headsets. Why is that?

mute button on the side of the left ear cup which I love. He points at it but only mentions the power button.
I wanna see the fequency responce of the arctis using the standard earcups and then the leather ones! I assume that graph will change a lot! Results will be interesting though for all the types of headphones to see what changes can be seen using leather earcups rather than the normal ones!

Here's a tip for Cloud Flight owners, the headset accepts the V-Moda Boom Pro, I'm not a console player myself but it seems like a good option to have, also to use it with mobile phones or tablets.

I have both. Arctis feels built better, looks nicer with less plastic, and has more features, especially the chat volume rocker. Flight can also have some reception issues even when close to the receiver. The wired dongle of the Arctis seems to perform better despite being more cumbersome.
