  • Hello everyone and welcome!
We have finally got a warm enough day that I can take Lucy with me for a Hike in the woods. We hike to a nice spot and set up to get a first look at my new knife and do a bit of testing. I have never had a carbon steel knife and I wanted to try one, at the same time I was looking for a budget friendly one. I came across the BPS knives Adventurer. The Adventurer sells for $59.95 Canadian dollars, It's a Ukrainian made Knife and comes with a small ferro rod and Leather sheath. This is the same company where I got the sheath I use for my Morakniv Bushcraft knife. We do a bit of batoning , light a fire, make a few feather sticks and try a bit of carving.
Please, join us to see how it goes!
    Thanks for watching!

First time watching your videos. It's nice to be in the forest preparing and having a campfire with man's best friend. I also like Mora knives because they are sharp, comparatively light, cheap and dependable. That knife you're reviewing looks like a great knife. Take Care and Be Safe.

Thanks for bring us along! first time watching and subscribed. I ordered the BPS Adventurer from Amazon for $34 US dollars and prime shipping before looking at any reviews, other then the Amazon reviews, I have since watched a few and I am sure I will love it. t comes today (9th) can't wait to play with it. I think I will pull the scales off and soak them in Boiled Linseed and either cold blue or force patina the blade, throw some mineral oil or non corrosive grease under there and blue lock-tight those screws back in place?!
Buy the way, looks like you might be using the Stanley Adventure nested cook set?? I LOVE mine for the price, have one in every bag..And I just love Lucy, such a good girl, looks just like my late "Tasha" sitting there chewing the snow from between her pads..lol..Thanks again and be well my friend!

    Great video in the woods.
I have the BPS Adventurer myself and I have had no problems with buttoning wood.
It's absolutely razor sharp out of the box as you mentioned.
Its a fantastic knife for the price point.
    Cheers

I’m a very big fan of the BPS adventurer. I use my Garberg when it’s wet an nasty. But I like the grind on the BPS better. I really can’t believe the Canadian mark up. The BPS adventurer is $38 on Amazon. My mora Garberg I got when Amazon dropped the price to $55 with the multi mount.
I’ve had my BPS over 2 years now. I don’t believe thickness matters as much as the knife crowd wants you to believe. I believe many things are marketing. Outdoorsman used thin knives for years . I believe it’s more important to know what your doing.

The more I use it, the more I like it! Our Canadian dollar is low compared to the US so everything here is more expensive. I agree... the more you know how to use your tools the less important it is for them to be perfect. Thanks for watching!🤝

I also have this knife. Mora is great but leather and wood handles just seem to go with Bushcraft more than plastic sheath and handle. I put Vaseline on my carbon knives since I always carry a small bottle everywhere. It sticks better.

I just ordered one from Amazon for $44 USD and I got 3 day delivery for an extra $10, I'm like you I dont really baton anything over about 2-3" in diameter, I've never had a scandi grind so I'm hoping I don't have any trouble sharpening it when that times comes.

    • @Anndyinthewoods
      @Anndyinthewoods  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hope it works well for you. The scandi grind on this knife is fairly easy to maintain. Every time I go out, when I get home I clean the knife and stop it a few times.

    Where do you live?
I have the same knife and I took off the handles and cold blued the blade, 3 coats. it looks amazing and is one of the best deals to be found for the money. This steel is decent for the price, 1066 takes a good edge and is easy to sharpen. Great piece of gear.

I am in Ontario, Canada. So far I really like this knife. Thanks for watching.
