    Excellent methods! I usually see people making hydrosols at home putting the plant material right in the water and simmering it. Also I have seen information that the hydrosols last 1 year in the refrigerator but you must watch for mold. The thing is the mold forms before you can see it. Anyway, thanks for the great info!

    • @OPTFORORGANIC
      @OPTFORORGANIC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes certainly! For Any diy’s we need to be very careful about the mold,fungi,etc.
      don’t store it more than 10 days. Even by this Method there are a certain amount of water particles remain in the hydro sold which attracts mold.
      And Thank you so much for the appreciation. 😊🙏

    What is the difference between the hydrosol and steam infused herbal water which you collected separately ? And how the steam infused herbal water can be used at home and can they be used to make face creams and toners , shampoos etc ???

    • @OPTFORORGANIC
      @OPTFORORGANIC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steam infused herbal water and hydrosol are same. What you are talking about is infused water or infusions. They have very short life span as compared to hydrosol so make sure you use a broad spectrum preservatives to secure your products. Yes you can use it in making my all the cosmetics just make sure to store those products either in the refrigerator or secure them with a preservative. With hydrosol we don’t have to worry much. (*as compared to the infused water or infusion)

    Just a silly question.. didn't the top container collect both essential oil and hydrosol..how did you separate them?

    • @OPTFORORGANIC
      @OPTFORORGANIC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As we are using these home utensils there are less chances of getting essential oils. Sometimes you can spot a few drops or a thin layer of oil in these hydrosols. If it is derived from the professional distillation equipment then we can derive proper essential oil.
      If you wish you can try to extract these tiny droplets through a dropper and keep it in another container and let it sit for sometime. And again repeat the same method until the oil part remains.

    • @OPTFORORGANIC

      You can use both similarly in every beauty product. The only difference is hydrosol when added to any cosmetics or used alone can last longer than the infused waters. Plus hydrosol is a pure and potent. And contains more essence of any herb or flowers than the infused waters. ☺️

      Lisa Deb Barma Hi Lisa! ☺️ Even I had the same dilemma regarding both essential oils and hydrosols. I had tried many brands available on amazon. But then I found out a nearby local manufacturer and seller and started purchasing from them. Hydrosols I prefer to make my own or buy from this local seller. You can check once. Or you write me a msg on my Instagram page and I would try to send you your desired product from my local manufacturer. 👍🏻

    Very nice method. Few doubts 1. Can I make it with rosemary? And should we need to refrigerate these? What's the shelf life for these hydrosols? Are hydrosols & toners are same?

    • @OPTFORORGANIC
      @OPTFORORGANIC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can make with Rosemary too. ☺️👍🏻
      Infect you can make hydrosols out of all the dry herbs, flowers, steams, roots and leaves.
      You need to refrigerate them as water based herbal products are susceptible to bacterial growth.
      No, hydrosols are pure distilled products while toners generally contains hydrosol as one of the contents.

    • @OPTFORORGANIC

      Probably because of the cooking time. 🤔

      Thanks a lot for the kind words. Appreciate it. It was only after falling prey to so called natural products, I started making my own for personal use. As you rightly said, there is too much of adulteration in the market and that do concerns me. Though not all are corrupted , the industry is not as transparent as it should be. And thus I like to keep things natural as much as possible myself, if not 100%. :)
