I am really happy because I saw this video. I was struggling to find an improvised or do it at home distillation for our research study. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!❤❤❤ It will really help us‼️💗
Thank you so much for this. I'm an earth witch and just starting to dabble in essential oils for healing and aromatherapy and I just dont have the money for a distiller in this economy right now. These things I already have alot of so that saved me money I didnt need to waste in the first place! I cant wait to do this! I truly appreciate you so much! Thank you, thank you!
I tried this method with my clary sage harvest as I'm not in a position to purchase a proper distiller. I cannot tell if any oil was extracted using this method though I know I cannot expect much as I've seen on other videos. I got about a cup of liquid in total after brewing on medium heat for about 3 hours. I did see some steam escape from the lid which may have impacted the final product. Any guidance on length of time, temp or ratio of plant matter to water for next time?
Also, remember the oil should be floating on top of the water collected. If u look closer, u should be able to see where the oil is floating. Also, it takes a lot of material just to produce 1ml of pure oil, so depending on how much u used, it may have only produced like .3 ml, which would be difficult to see on top of the water. U can use a small dropper to suck the oil off the top and squirt it into a separate vial. If anything that water collected should still smell pretty nice and have enough oils to use as a spray. Just use half and half water mix and use as a spray or whatever u want.
All u have to do is buy a dropper. This process he is showing will produce the water oil mixture in the little bowl. Then, just take a small dropper and suction out the oil. The oil stays at the top of the mixture, and if u look closer, u should be able to see where the oil and water meet to gauge when to stop. Just remember, it takes a lot of material to produce a very small amount of oil, so it usually is only about 1ml of pure oil at the most.
Distill can make distilled water and it can remove most contaminants like heavy metals. Sulphur is one need to use carbon filter because they can be vaporized during distillation.

Yes! Excited for this!
I always wondered how people did this in ancient times when no one had a distiller. Thanks

Thank you. Very well explain.
Great tips; thanks for sharing
Thank you for this video 😊
Just asking po.
Is the first tip a way of separating the water and the oil??
Ingenious ! Thank you ! Gonna give it a try now. :)
Thank you for sharing the knowledge Doctor 🙏
Thank you. Good explanation
This was excellent, thanknyou
Can you make essential oils from dried plant material? I don’t have a garden and buy my herbs online from Mountain Rose.
Yes. Dry herbs can make more oil and more concentrated hydrosol than fresh.
thank u thank u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I use a water distiller to make herbal essential oil?
Thank you Mr ,but my question is in the bowel are we ready to collect oils only?

Dr when should we stop?
Very nice video, my father he make grappa like dat
So this is the method to do the hydrosol (which is the toner right?) . Can you please do a video to make essential oil at home without the distiller

@bink9113 okay thank you
The flower must be fresh or dry
Can I distill my well water? It smells like sulpher. Will distilling remove contaminants?

@LeTimeLeo thank you LeO LeTime
Excellent tips. Thank you.
So helpful! Thank you!
Thank you so much!!
Brillant!!!
Worth trying someday
I failed to get essential oils out of this. Is it normal? I only got hydrosol. But maybe its because I was using fresh narcissus flowers?
I believe that’s normal yes, you probably need a lot of plant material to yield any essential oils from something like fresh narcissus flowers.
Thank you so much
Cold vacuum may work magic without boiling
Please demonstrate with real materials
Thank you Mr ,but my question is in the bowel are we ready to collect oils only?
Hydrosol and oil will be produced at the same time. When there is oil, it will float on top of hydrosol which can be separated out by a separator.
