    Trash find. Top of the line. All it needed was a new tub seal, a thorough cleaning inside and out, it now looks and works great!

    These washers do get the job done. I had one gave it to my neighbor. My new house has a kenmore and It does a good job. My wish is to find an imperial whirlpool washer and dryer set that has been fully restored if needed. I miss that good ole belt drive and the woo woo sound and etc.

    Water pressure is low in my neighborhood too. Most likely because everyone is working from home remotely, zooming ,and streaming 24-7 due to a much worsening PANDEMIC!

    I have this washer, but different agitator. Plastic tub. Works better than the non agitator tubs that barely move the clothes. I have the paddle type agitator. This model is gentle on the clothes compared to my Whirlpool which has lots of rollover and works faster, but cleans better. This one is perfect for delicates.

      Good to hear that yours is still working. I know these older Frigidaires were kind of unreliable. But these were built on the cheap side. I don’t think these got the best reviews either.

    Because these washers have indexing tubs. They do better with straight vain/ single action agitator

    • @coolrobuxgaming
      @coolrobuxgaming ปีที่แล้ว

      But these washers are definitely not great tho. They just seem cheap in quality and are pretty unreliable. These also lacked tub breaks and suspension?. These also had plastic inner and outer tubs. Also these did not have the best rollover either. The Whirlpool direct drives and the older GE washers had a much better rollover than this. Although the older GE washers were also kind of built on the cheap side but they seemed a bit more reliable and they also have more powerful agitation so that’s why I think the older GEs were better.

      The indexing tub was a Westinghouse thing. When GM sold Frigidaire to White Consolidated Industries the 1-18 rollermatic was discontinued. WCI aquired the Westinghouse appliance division in 1974. The Frigidaire from that point (1979) was a Westinghouse machine with a Frigidaire control panel. They kept the ramp style agitator for the White-Westinghouse. The ramp agitator was best for this type of machine.

    • @jonathanashbeck3740
      @jonathanashbeck3740 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I agree. The tub brake would be better and the turnover would be better without the indexing on the tub.

    • @Ififitzisitz
      @Ififitzisitz ปีที่แล้ว

      That would make it worse only, the agitator needs to turn in the opposite direction of the indexing tub.

    • @lmal8207

      amberlynn6914 with a stationary tub the rollover would be more effective for sure. I had one of these and sold it because I felt like the turnover wasn’t so great because of the tub

    • @Ififitzisitz
      @Ififitzisitz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never really liked the indexing tub either, but it’s what makes Frigidaire’s different.

    • @MicklowFilms
      @MicklowFilms ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How is it awful? The tub is ribbed and helps wash the clothes better.

    • @BAFVintage
      @BAFVintage ปีที่แล้ว

      the tub spinning causes the water to just swirl around and in turn the clothes only turn around in circles and don't really have a good turnover. If it oscillated left and right that would be a much better design IMHO.

    • @MicklowFilms
      @MicklowFilms ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BAFVintage It does turn them over when it’s not overloaded with clothes. Plus you don’t need turnover to get clothes clean, when the tub does half the work. This washer just does it in a different way. The clothes rub against each other and the wash tub to get clean. Similar to a front load washer but in a top load form factor.

    These plastic tub Frigidaires were not good machines. If this dies, get a direct drive and that will last over 15 years. For brand new, get a Speed Queen. These also lacked tub breaks. Older doesn’t always mean good. You can also buy a really old Frigidaire. 2000s Frigidaires we’re not good machines. No modern Frigidaire washer is good. Frigidaire is only good at making kitchen appliances, not laundry.

      WCI era Frigidaire air conditioners were great, idk what was with their washes. I'd still take this washer over a new machine any day. I have a Lady Kenmore Series 90 (just a fancy Whirlpool direct drive) that gets anything clean I can throw at it.
