I dont know about its internal mechanical components longevity , but with its corkscrew agitator and no nonsense bottom agitation stroke. I say im satisfied with the machine for as long as it lasts that it will get what i have in there clean.
Those older scrubbers are really good and do good scrubbing. The hydrowave washers had same scrubbers but the scrubber moved so slowly that all it did was toss the clothes back and forth without doing real scrubbing. Current GE washer scrubbers are better preforming than hydrowave washers but not as good as older models.
None of them are good. All they do is swim the clothes around. You're expected to do the stain removing yourself. In the old washers if you put muddy jeans in there it would come out good and new. Guess that's the consequence of letting these climate crisis nutjobs dictate our lives. Oh and don't tell me it's "SuRvIvOrShIp BiAs" because the reality is that old appliances were better.
The older electronic controlled GEs had spray rinse while the standard mechanical ones didn’t. Direct drives also had a spray rinse. Of course since this is an older GE, it does a full rinse too. This was made years before the rinse and soak setting came out. While on new washers, they think one spray rinse is good and then it just goes to the final spin. It’s an eco thing for newer washers.
One things for sure, those clothes are clean at the end of that cycle. Some of the best agitation I’ve ever seen with a top loader. I’d love to find one.
I always thought these were nice machines when they were out. I like the upswept control panels on these. Only recently on youtube have I ever seen one of these wash .
The chug chug ge washers are on suspension rods thats why i cant believe you guys dont know this already it is really pissing me off that a lot if people dont know this about chug chugs
@@ScantPear What does your reply have anything to do with what I posted? I never opened up one inside to see what was in it and I never had a desire to so there is that....
Awesome! A little bit of a story to tell. I used to have this particular washer until 2019 when the transmission and the tub seal blew out. It worked flawlessly every wash and the Spot Soak is like the modern GE water station. Now we have a 2019 GE washer and dryer pair, the dryer has already had repairs for a worn bearings but all in all, it’s ok but it will never wash as good as this beauty.
Also I really like that control panel a mix of touch active buttons and the good ole knobs🤓. Also is it me or does that drain pump sound different then other chug chug GE’s?

This one was mechanical
It's a super capacity plus washer with a v8 motor.

You can fine these at Lowes or Home Depot and they do the same as in the video. :)
