Actually that is one of the stupid parts about the machine, it does not have a braking system. Our Kenmore direct drive machine and all other Whirlpool built direct driven models have the braking system on top of the spin tube above the clutch. You should check out the vids of our machine. ;)
liz boz If the machine does not have a locking lid, by law it must have a braking system. Also the wash basket is indexing causing the machine to not wash properly.
eddieg780 Well you're saying the exact point, that Whirlpool has hired these younger inexperienced techies. They're not anything compared to the older EXPERIENCED people that know exactly what they're doing. And yes, it actually does have a locking lid on it that will not unlock until half a minute after the tub has come to a complete stop....Stupid idea, no brakes with lid lock, hmmm, I think I'd take our machine, or an 'old skool' Whirlpool belt drive, or even a 1950's Frigidaire Unimatic washer over this crappy machine.
Video Lover (I ♥ Videos) Well he's just a very clean and organized guy, I was actually visiting him while he was still living by himself because my parents had separated for a while due to him having *rage* issues and bringing in *demons* into our household, (mostly from his childhood, but partly from his "hell hole" of a job), but since then he's worked things out with the Lord, and we've reconciled our family back together and things are good. :) He just doesn't like water messes to clean up, so I'd rather respect his wishes and prevent that from happening. If it was my house, I honestly wouldn't care unless the floor's sensitive to water damage.
