How long and often should a person take antiviral meds.. An what is the antiviral meds?
You can take them when you have an outbreak, if you want, but it's not necessary. It will clear the outbreak faster.
Some people choose to take it daily, as it's one of the best ways to prevent transmission to your partner.

I'm a diabetic, I prick my fingers to check my blood sugar. My girlfriend has found out that she has hpv2. It passes through open sores during an outbreak with skin to skin contact, u can get it on any part of the body that comes in contact, but only during outbreaks. Pricks would probably make it more likely if she was having a outbreak.

Can you please make a specific video about kissing? I met a girl with oral herpes and I don't know how to deal with that. I feel like if I want to kiss her she can think that I'm reckless, and if I don't she can think that I don't like her enough... But the truth is: I like her and I want to kiss her.... More than 60% of the population has oral herpes virus (hsv1) by age 50 or so. It’s no big deal snd so long as she doesn’t have tingling (prodome) or an open legion chances are you’ll be fine. What she can do is take an antiviral as a prophylactic to reduce the duration if she gets them ; it will also prevent them to begin with. Something - a device called a “virulite” will get rid of them in a day or 2 if not prevent them as soon as the first tingle. I have them and only get 1 for a day every year or 2. Very mild, it’s no big deal and I’ve never given them to anyone. There is a lot of miseducation and disproportionate fear about the oral variety.
That being said without knowledge or caution they can spread. It’s really simple. If she suspects she has one coming on - do not kiss her; if she has an open legion definitely do not kiss her until 2 or so days after completely healed.

I’ve been In this situation a couple times I don’t have any herpes and I dated women with hsv-1 who got cold sores I got freaked out but I did like them they didn’t disclose right away it actually came up in casual convos that they get cold sores they got them since they where kids ..I dated them for months I did kiss without them having outbreaks I never tested positive just use caution but it is very hard my I stress myself out waiting for symptoms even tho I know we were cautious …it’s very hard you have to really like that person to stick it out ..

Hey Alexandria, I have a question, I hope you answer, I just wanna know if this is accurate or not according to you and your knowledge of herpes, since I've had hsv1 cold sores a couple times in my life since I was a kid, haven't had one in six years and probably never have hsv1 symptoms again at this rate, but this is a quote I got from the world health organization, let me know your thoughts, "Individuals who already have HSV-1 oral herpes infection are unlikely to be subsequently infected with HSV-1 in the genital area." What you're thoughts on this? Hope you can answer as soon as you can thank you
I suppose that's possible - but you can also get the HSV2. I also had oral sores as a kid and still ended up with genital herpes - but I don't know if it's HSV1 or HSV2. does that make sense?
@@ciarazabolotney3998 most likely hsv2, I read sources online from someone named Terri Warren, a doctor that has been studying hepres for 30 years said that she never seen someone with established herpes infection, like hsv1 get it again, that's telling you something. But hsv2 infection even with preexisting hsv1 infection is very much possible
I have had hsv1 cold sore since I was 16.. I'm 53 now & was recently diagnosed with genital hsv & the only strain showing in blood panel is type 1

Just be honest and tell what has been going on. If you're calm and not accusing, you have the highest chance of learning if she actually knew, or she did not. Be honest and ask her to get tested together.

You will be less likely to transmit if you are taking daily antivirals. The risk of transmission while on daily antivirals is about 1%

If the person is from Brooklyn it's a huge red flag. I wouldn't date anyone from a highly populated area like that. Too many people sleeping around with random people. The risks are huge

It's all about what works for you and your partner. As long as your partner is aware of the risk and doesn't care, or is willing to accept that risk, you can do all you want.
