  • In the thirty-eighth episode of "Assassin's Creed: The Real History" we take a look at the faction that inspired both this series, and fear within the hearts of men, the Assassin Order.
    This series will be a way for me to shed light on the real history behind characters, groups, events and locations that are showcased in the Assassin's Creed video game series. Throughout the video I will be comparing real historical moments to those represented in the selected game.
    If you have any characters, groups, events or locations that you'd like me to cover in the future, please be sure to leave it in a comment below.

    The ancient Hashashin didn't kill innocents. They only killed those that they believed needed to be brought down. Oh, and they only killed their targets in public if it was a very important person, like a politician for example. I've done HOURS of research. And the Templars literally never fought the Hashashin as all, lol.

      max rant They usually did kill in public, but not always. For example, one of the two Caliphs they killed was found dead, stabbed multiple times, while he was reading the Quran.
      But they preferred to use psychological warfare anyway. Notes and daggers under pillows and such.

      max rant The Templars did fight the Hashashin briefly I believe, because Richard the Lionheart came very close to attacking Masayaf, and templars were a staple of his army.

    I'd like to see more episodes about the history in assassin's creed

    • @OnlineKnights
      @OnlineKnights  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if you are referring to the series as a whole, or the first Assassin's Creed game specifically... If you mean the series as a whole, next week will be our fiftieth episode and I plan on keeping up my format of a new episode every week for as long as I can. Therefore, hopefully you'll find enough content that interests you on the channel.
      If however you were referring to the first Assassin's Creed game specifically, then by all means please suggest any of the characters, groups, events or locations shown in that game that you'd like me to cover in a future video. Thanks for the comment.

      ***** Ok then, well if you have the time be sure to check out the "Assassin's Creed: The Real History" playlist on the channel's front page. I've covered most of the big-name historical figures found in AC 1, 2, Brotherhood and Revelations. If there are any I missed that you really wanted to see, let me know in a comment.
      I'm wrapping up the last few big-name requested figures from Unity and Rogue and once I'm done that I'll be continuing with featuring characters from all the games.

    I love episodes like this.
    As far as new episodes, would you be willing to do specials on aspects of particular time periods seen in the games. For example, I'd love to hear something about whaling seeing as it's in ACIV. Or is that too broad a stretch?

    • @OnlineKnights
      @OnlineKnights  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. As for your request, it's definitely possible. I'm just now opening the spectrum of possibilities for this series and am therefore open to any suggestions. I'll see how the next few episodes go, but I will keep the idea in mind. I also considered perhaps doing episodes on the time periods or locations based on time periods, for example; Renaissance Italy.

      If you do have time to do a Templar history video (I'm not rushing you. I understand that you are busy and need your time) then could you please find out and research if the Templars are illuminati. It's sounds weird but I've read about it many times and Ubisoft have also made many ties into it too 😄. (Hope your studying well too)

    • @OnlineKnights
      @OnlineKnights  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kiran Javaid Between studying I've already done a bit of research for that episode. I won't get into too much detail now, but from most historical records I've found, the Templars are far less associated to the Illuminati as opposed to the Freemasons. Also, since most of that information is speculative, I'll probably mention it, but not spend much time on the topic, rather allocating my time towards the factual historical records since it will be a long episode.

      Having read it before I got into Assassin's Creed, I found it extremely interesting, but after immersing myself in the series and going back to read it again, I found the book even more enjoyable. I would definitely encourage any fan of this franchise to read it, since it offers a very different perspective on the Assassins.

    I have a theory on eagle vision. Eagle vision represents the main character's intelligence. He knows what to look for. For example, if you want to find a warlord, watch the others. See who becomes timid and who is in their line of sight. That's why eagle vision was introduced. to assist the players and give us an understanding of how the character thinks. It makes sense

    Just to point out though very late with this comment. That though "Eagle Vision" isn't real there is a neurological phenomenon known as Synesthesia, that could possibly be related to this. There are varying types of this condition, but one example is that a person can see a person or that person's personality as a color. Sound familiar. :) But other than that I enjoyed these videos, very informative and educational. Keep it up.

    • @visionplant

      +JJAG3
      They most likely didn't make it until 1500's but who knows? The last act of the Assassins as an organization was attempting to recapture Alamut Castle in 1389.
      The famous Arabian traveler and geographer Ibn Buttuta wrote about the Assassins who worked for the Sultan after the Mongols destroyed all their castles in the early 1300's. He called them the Sultan's arrows.
      "When he desires to send one of them to assassinate a foe of his, he pays him his blood money. If he escapes after doing the deed, the money is his, but if he is caught it goes to his children. They have poisoned knives with which they strike their victims but sometimes they fail and they themselves are killed".
      So yeah, some Assassins did have children and they may have taught them how to kill but I find it unlikely. No father would want his son to have such a dangerous job.

      Survivors of Friday the thirteenth did escape and continue the Templar Order in secret, many fought with Robert the Bruce at the battle of Bannock burn in 1314. The Templar Order probably came to an end in the early seventeenth century. The Assassin Order in the fourteenth, when the last Assassin died.

    The Assassins Soon disappeared after the war the assassins were unknown to the Templar Knight cuz of a disguise of the Face whereing a Hood it's also said assassins where good at leaping roof top to roof top whereing some sort of gliding tactic on the back of their robes similar to AssassinS Creed it's said to help gliding when leaping to a roof top The Base of the Hashshashin was called al-Faysam which if you look at it closely it's Masyaf spelled backwards so there's some new evidence that Assassins where legit

    just so you know before even the video game came out I read somewhere that "Mirza Reza Kermani" was following the "assasin" order or perhaps could have been link to the so called creed or they call them "fadaei" because they didn't have evidence of who he was following and why they linked him with someone else just so they can have an excuse to kill him too but there is no evidence of them linking and it remains mystery. also there was then a different groups called fadaei ( which were actually very bad guys) and and carried out various assassinations . look up Mirza Reza Kermani :)

      When the French were invited into the Assassin Castle of Masyaf there was an Arabic speaking Friar who wrote about the visit. His name was Yves.
      Yves had evidently found, in the living quarters of the Grandmaster, a short Christian treatise which contained some sayings of Jesus addressed to St Peter. Delighted at this evidence of interest in Christianity, Yves had told the Assassin Chief to read that book frequently, "for, small as it may be, it contains many excellent things". The Grandmaster had reportedly replied that he did in fact read it frequently, adding that he held St Peter in high esteem, because
      "in the beginning of the world, the soul of Abel, after his brother Cain had murdered him, entered the body of Noah; and the soul of Noah, on his decease, went to the body of Abraham; and after Abraham it entered the body of St Peter, who is now under the earth."

      They survived Haku Khan's attacks in Syria. In 1260, the Mongols under Hulaku conquered most of northern Syria and briefly occupied the Assassin Castle of Masyaf. However, following the Mongols' rout at the Battle of Ain Jalut at the hand of the Bahri Mamluks later that year, they withdrew from Masyaf.
      The Assassins worked for the Mamluks until 1272.
      In 1275 AD and again in 1389 AD, small groups of Assassins who had survived the Mongol invasions attempted to recapture Alamut Castle, but their attempts were short-lived.

      In Sirat-i Jalaluddin (pp. 232-3) Nasawi described the gifts an Assassin Grand Master gave him when he visited him to balance tribute.
      "Generosity to such a man is never wasted. The value of what was bestowed on me, in cash and in kind, was near 3000 dinars, including two robes of honor, each consisting of a satin cloak, a HOOD, a fur and a cape, one lined with satin and the other with Chinese crepe"

When the game introduction stars they write that any historical events were taken from real history and that there once was an assassins in france if Im not mistaken with a HIDENBLADE which did not comited any acts of suiside after killing its targets as he was hirred to do this kind of job. If you do not belive me search it yourself then. 🎧📱😎

      Um, sorry dude that hidden blade never really existed. Many of the facts in the game were based off of myths and legends European writers created. I'm currently doing a research paper about the actual history of the Ismaili Nizari "The Assassin Order" and acquired tons of books just to do this damn paper. And they didn't kill themselves the just didn't fight back and accepted their fate. Try not rely heavily in internet source and try the library if your really interested in the history.

    The hachachine was an Ismaïl sect separated from the fatimia (shia) and fatimia was separete mouvement from abbasid and found another city in nord africa (Mahdia in tunisia)
    The hachachin was found as a result of political diffirence in abbasid empire wich cause a division in the empire
    They rival was abbasid , seljouk ,zinki , and crusaders but all of this country has failed to eradicate the hachachin
    The military stratigy was based on assassination they managed to assassinate important person minister seljouk , abbasid caliph, and king of holy city Jérusalem conrad'
    The downfall the assassin was eradicate by mongol empire in 1256

    As confusing as it may have been I really wish both factions went under different names throughout the series. As one of the fundamental elements of both factions from AC1 was religion. The Templars being devout catholics and Assassins being shia muslims.
    But the game depicts something more permanent and elemental about the two sides.
    It's chaos vs order freedom vs control two secret societies with opposite opinions of what is best for the people.. Nothing to do with religion whatsoever.

    • @visionplant
      @visionplant 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      darthkahn45 Correction: Ismaili Shia.

    • @matthewpettipas8233
      @matthewpettipas8233 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Templars weren't devout Catholics, they were more Judaic in their beliefs, which isn't surprising, since the Templars were created by families who traced their descent from ancient Israel, and secretly kept the Jewish traditions alive while outwardly conforming to Catholicism. The reason why the Templars were created was to protect the descendants of Yeshua and Mary Magdalene, who were being hunted by the Church. So yeah, the Templars weren't Catholic, more like Jewish Christian with a mix of the Occult thrown in.

    The history of assassins is true don't U no anything- The Templars also known as the Templar knights became a holy group in 1307 which in 1186-1235 is where the Templars orgined the Templars were a Group of Holy ness and evil taking place in the Cruesades which was a poor time which the Templar knight came into power and over threw Muslum Then a Rebellion took place which caused the War but an organization gathered of 10 created a secret order called (Hashshashin) meaning Assassins which fought against the Templar Knights. The leader of Hashshashin was Purjabi who lead the charge against them it is said that only 2 Assassins were the owners of the Hidden Blade those were Purjabi and Singh Purjabi had 2 weapons in his inventory that Was the Hidden Blade on his Right right arm with a missing ring finger and the the Kirpan a small blade dagger Slided into a blade holstered on his back Purjabi hidden blade was 5 1/2 almost the same size as Altaïr which Singh hidden blade was 4 inches his weapon was
