Couple I’ve been around the cowl will leak at base of wind shield and water runs down in to the spark plug tubes and will get a mis fires on cylinders 5/6. Might not be so common, but have had it happen couple of times.
Thank you for the video. I have a 2019 transit and my heat shield along the muffler you showed in the video has cracked all around both brackets. What a dumb design not reinforcing that more than that. I fell like putting a new one on will just be a temporary fix until I breaks again. I'm thinking about figuring out how to secure it more. I do a lot of highway miles and I guess the wind is catching it

I have clunking going on in the rear of my transit but the few shops I’ve taken it to tell me they can’t hear anything or try to blame it on something else. Every bump on the road at lower speeds. Entering and exiting driveways, dirt roads are the worst. Nobody seems to want to help. Idk if I should just rebuild the rear suspension bushings or leaf springs or what to do.
I have a 2015 ford transit for my buiness had 116k miles shifts a little rough at times , but the turbo spools a bunch never had a turboed vehicle by ford is that normal? It kinda just spools a bunch
My EcoBoost transit was making alot of turbo noise and down on power was fearing the turbos were going....nope all but one bolt on both manifolds broke off the head. Crazy it was just hanging on for dear life. The drive shaft thing is annoying had in done twice and its doing it again just hit 130k on it. Over this van is a beast fast as hell hauls weight well. I have a 3.2 L, 5 inline diesel. I live in texas. Constant rattling on bumpy roads, quiet as hell on smooth. Sounds like a metal tube just rattling away.
I live in Wisconsin and before my 2017 ever saw road salt, I coated the entire underside with fluid film, and reapplied it each year before winter. I have no rust, and my heat shields are not cracking from metal fatigue.
2019 T350 SRW 3.7l - while driving slow I hear a thumping noise from the rear end. Its a rhythmic noise, so I assumed driveshaft. I lifted the Van and started spinning the wheel. The noise is there and driveshaft hasn't even moved. So its coming from the rear end. It is not a whine, or a loud clunk, its a muted noise. It sounds like something touching the rear axles (or just one) and makes noise through the drivetrain. Its getting louder. At 20-25 miles its very slow but when going 70-80 its making a continues noise and driving me nuts. I have recorded a video and will upload to youtube soon.
ive always been a ford guy since i was a kid back in the 50s,,but they have built some stupid stuff in the last decade or so,,like doing away with the 4.9 I 6 motor
HELP needed please! I’m looking at a m6 tipper 159k miles Took for a test drive , needed to start it with a small starter pack , had a squeal on start up , took it out to drive and from the minute i accelerated to low and high RPM sounded like a harmonic whine which got louder and louder and only stopped when was stationary .. what could this be ? Thankyou!!
I get the same noise as the video pretty loud if i try to coast at 25-45 mph but if i let off the gas or push gas harder the sound goes away what do you think tha could be? Its like a grindy rattle it only happens when driving not in park and no noise when turning
My transit connects 2010; when stepping hard on the gas pedal, it makes a whistling sound and loses all power on the transmission. If I start slow, it works as long as I don't push the gas pedal too quickly. Have you seen this before?
I just had all front end suspension ball joints upper and lowers changed all and still riding like crap and when on mest up terrain man it's worse sounds like marbels on 1 side
my trans (6r80) in my transit has 370k miles and shifts rough.did the ford service every 50k miles but never had filter changed because of how difficult it is to get to.would you recommend having it rebuilt or a ford reman and why? thks in advance!!
I was just talking to the transmission guy and he said it's time for a Ford reman and they typically don't even last three hundred fifty thousand miles
I’ve got a 16 f150 5.0 and there’s a very loud whistle under acceleration. Cannot figure it out. Almost sounds like there’s a pinhole somewhere in the intake. Any ideas?
I wish it was boosted but it isn’t. I’ve read some have changed the vacuum lines on the top and back of the motor, it’s sold as one part. Still no confirmed fix for the ‘5.0 whistle’
I hope you can help me out, i have the same sound with my ecosport and it makes scraping sound like that at 43miles speed and above.. just recently changed my wheel bearings and all mounts are new.. when i hit the break and the speed went into below 40miles that grinding noise stops.. i've been with a lot of mechanics and they could not figure what is happening
Well there's either a couple things that you have going on something is wrong with the way the brakes are installed or whenever you recently did the wheel bearings somebody pushed the rotor or brake dust shield behind everything too close to the rotor and it needs to be pushed back away from the rear of the rotor it's that piece of metal that covers the back of the rotor push it away some
I appreciate your immediate response, so what happened was i've heard this grinding sound for a while but its confusing if its grinding or some wind pushing something to sound like metallic.Since no mechanic could figure where the sound originates i decided to replace the wheel bearings, yet the sound is still there.. :( and btw there is no dust shield on both front wheels
@@FordBossMe sorry for the delay. Our transit cutaway is attached to a WGO EKKO and it was in the Forest City service center. In discussing with other owners there we have found that the whining noise we have is due to the turbo and is normal. Thank you for your help.
Hey, Ford Boss me! Just got a call from my Ford Dealership. Was waiting for long block installation on Sept 20 th 2021. They said Service manager walked out today. Friday morning. Had a water intrusion on 2 and 3. He never really diagnosed the engine problem with a leak down test. I dropped it off. It was there all day. Never even looked at it or took it in the bay. So, He told my wife and I that he ordered the long block. It never got ordered either. So, I am starting all over. On the 20th. The Escape goes in for the leak down test. To confirm the water intrusion. Then they will tell me if it needs a long block or not. The Mechanic said the Service manager never did the test. Why, Didn't he turn the Service manager into the Dealership. Sounds like Fraud to me. The Dealership is trying to save face. What do I do now. Who do I talk with there to make sure this gets done? Help! Me! Shawn.
