This is a clear and concise diagnostic video. I have a 2010 Audi A3 that had an incredibly irritating rattle that was getting louder. I tried to diagnose the problem several times. I could only re-create the noise if I pushed the car side to side very hard with the wheels straight. I visually inspected everything multiple times and grabbed the tie rod for the sway bar and tried to shake it but couldn’t find the problem. Because of this video I took the wheel off another time and checked all the nuts on the shock absorber to discover that the rattle was the upper tie rod nut being loose (even though it didn’t look or feel like it was). Thank you!

@@christopher-xi2ey If you just started hearing clunking noises on your Car, it's typically one of two things, either your sway bar end links are broken or your front shocks are worn out and need to be replaced.

Great video !!, for me it was the sway bar bushings and the sway bar links. The rubber covers on the links had tore. And the rubber bushing had wore down on the right side causing movement creating that clunking sound....no more noise, it cost around 350.00 to replace links and one set of two bushings for sway bar. Start there before you start replacing shocks and suspension parts...word to the wise. I hope this comment helps because mechanics want to sell struts and major suspension parts. Find someone who is honest and have a talk with them.

Hello, In the new generation vehicles, the anti rolling bar rubber bushing and the iron bar are combined and welded. In my Renault Megane 4 vehicle, the anti-roll bar and the anti-roll bar bushing were welded together. In other words, if the bushing is broken, not only the rubber bushing is changed, but the complete anti rolling bar itself is changed. Is this true? While the bushing would be changed for 20-30 bucks, we would buy a anti rolling bar for a figure like 300 bucks. Can't this bushing pressed or welded on the iron be scraped off and replaced with a new bushing according to the diameter of the iron? Thanks advance

Was that vehicle a 'clunk-odore? They are notorious for link bar failure.
    Thanks for the quick tips.
    Good, logical process. 😊

Nice vid. One thing I didn’t hear mentioned is control arm bushings. Those can also make a similar sound when going over uneven or bumpy terrain. If you have an early 2000s Infiniti G35 (and maybe Nissan 350z/370z) this is a very common issue. It happened to me. When I replaced the control arms I replaced the bushings with polyurethane bushings and it looked like they were going to hold up much better or even solve the issue. Unfortunately I totaled the car so now I’ll never know
