So, the Volkswagen Virtus returns a better overall mileage and offers better overall performance. Would you still choose the City over it? Why or why not? Comment below!
Based on how they are priced ..4cyclinder vtec is a more sensible buy over 3cyclinder 1.0 virtus any day..no replacement for displacement & if someone really need best performance they should opt for 1.5tsi .
City is still the better choice because: 1. City is super smooth refined drive comfort in city 2. No jerking or surge for most cases except enthusiasts. Relaxed feel 3. City speeds better pulling in traffic in normal acceleration with light foot, gives good mileage as well 4. Slavia 1.0MT when revved hard gives only 6kmpl as per MID (friend's car) vs City still gives 9kmpl when revved hard. In high performance situation, city delivers better mileage 5. Virtus/Slavia is like choose between performance or mileage, while city is a balance of both Finally, the base model city has more features than mid variant Virtus at almost 2L lower price point.
Yes, because for the slightly better performance there is a huge hit in reliability on the VW; not good for resale OR if you wish to keep the car for a long time.
I had been test driving both the cars along with salvia, i test drive extensively for last few weeks , i fell in love with virtus looks, both cars are really good, virtus & slavia being a new car are a feature packed cars with 1000 cc turbo charged, Honda city 5th gen also give the a bit less interior cosmetic features in comparison with virtus, I was really confused, but in the end, I decided to go with the comfort and silence the Honda city ivtec 1500 cc engine provides, when we sat in the back seat of Honda city, me and my wife, we just looked at each other and decided this is it, Honda provides best comfort seats in the rear and in the front. Virtus is all nice but some how back seat comfort is incomparable, In the end I bought the stable reliable Honda city 5th gen 1500 cc ivtec engine petrol MT it's legacy like buy and forget 👍🏽. I really loved the looks of virtus though and base line is VW is pitching a Tsi 1000cc to compare 1500cc Honda, I would preferred to compare Honda 1500 cc with VW 1.5 Tsi, actually there VW cost is priced way to high, for me Honda came out to be a preferred option in terms of comfort and pricing and at lats I bought it last week with amazing service and support from Crystal Honda pune, Viman Nagar br, it was a fair deal 👍🏽, i am loving my 5th gen Honda city. Safe drive every one.
VW looks more powerfull with turbo engine, but have heard few complaints about Cylinder Deactivation and reliability of there service considering these would go for Honda there service and reliability is best in the segment. Though am 6'3" did feel little space crunch in Honda but that drive experience and feel compensate for little head room which i need , Honda City any day for me.
your wrong the things you are talking about are myths it is not at all the situation i have virtus 1.0 TSI Automatic and the services are very good and very reliable engine
"....and such lovely weather. " If it is any consolation, it is currently raining here in North Florida. Love watching the videos, but as a small car fan my choices are not great. If you aren't interested in trucks or SUVs you have little choice (no pun intended).
correction....the turbo starts at 1750 rpm so you get the 115 bhp power at 1750 rpm while the honda city produces 121 bhp at 6600 rpm which is impossible to get
I am new to there car specifics. Can someone explain if the City is more powerful or the Virtus? The power and torque values are higher for City. So that does that mean that a 1.5NA engine is more powerful than a 1T engine?
The Honda City's petrol engine develops slightly more power (119bhp for the City and 114bhp for the Virtus 1.0), but the Virtus develops more torque (145Nm for the City and 178Nm for the Virtus 1.0) Peak power produced by the City is higher, but only slightly more, this will theoretically mean better acceleration and higher top speed. But you also have to take into account at what engine rpm that peak power and torque is developed. As is shown at 09:05, from a standstill, the City is quicker. But when you shift to everyday driving, the better torque and power delivered lower down the rev range means the Virtus accelerates quicker.
Wold definitely go for the germans like slavia or virtus rather than all those jacked up hatchbacks 🚗 crossovers, or compact Suvs 🚙 like creta and seltos ! Space is a luxury So definitely German sedans 🚘 with their commanding road presence and practicality with turbo petrol mills is pic for me
@@amandeepbaa6978 bro it's a myth......even though there's no beating around bushes with a Honda iVTEC, i agree.......TSI engines are actually not that far behind. TDI , obviously, is a different story.
Nah mileage was kinda vague since you failed to mention stuff like speed and how often did you do a stop and go in traffic Real world efficiency of city from what I’ve tested over 2 years of ownership : City : with acceptable traffic - 14 kmpl Heavy traffic - 10-12 kmpl Peak traffic - 8-12 kmpl Highway : Upto 80-100kmpj- 20-22kmpl 120 and above - 18kmpl
They could be. Lot of factors affect the mileage. We have a set route, a set time and the same set of drivers who do these tests so that the numbers are accurate and comparable.
Good Video, the city run mileage looks like on holiday/night, in morning/evening office traffic TSI 1L will not give more than 10kmpl, not sure about honda but it might give 11kmpl.
Very bad city mileage after 1 year of driving. Driving in highway for 15-20kms plus some traffic, it never increases more than 10.5 km/L. In the beginning in highway used to give 15 to 17 km/L, and now not even 13 km/L . i dont rev above 2k rpm either
The goal here is not to extract the maximum mileage from the car. We have a set route, driven by the same driver, in similar conditions. This helps comparing cars easy and fair.
@@CarWale yes I agree but I am saying that unless you drive any car for a min of 200-250 kms, it may not be the best way to calculate fuel economy.... Even the MID and tank to tank is less than 1 km accurate so if I see 21.1 kmpl it means it will return 20.3-20.4 for tank to tank but only after a longer distance and not for short distances
I recently achieved 21.* Kmpl from Mysore to Mahabaleshwar-Lonavla and back... only dropped below 20 for the uphill climb to Panchgani and it was constantly 21.* And 22.1 once near Satara after experiencing the expressway.. Also, I was doing constant 100+ speeds and not even 80-90 kmph

One of the best Review ! And very informative considering purely Performance and mileage aspect
No city driver will pull from 20 to 100 in 3rd gear because it can do 108 in 2nd gear only 😂😂😂
Tru dat
I’m either going from 40-100 on 2nd or it’s usually 2-4/6th gear when going from 20-100

Plz do similar comparisons for city Honda CVT and virtus 1.5 GT
There's an almost Rs 3 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) difference in the prices of these variants, would you as a buyer even consider these as rivals?
Good video. What would be the figures in city driving bumper to bumper traffic. Virtus 1.0 Automatic versus Honda city automatic

That’s torque bro at 1750 rpm, Virtus produces power at 5000 rpm
what a great review please compare the new city to the virtus 2.0
How about automatic mileage figures? TC vs CVT?
Could you please tell at what speed your highway mileage tests are taken? It would be helpful if you mention those same in the videos. BTW nice video.
@Bilal Firfiray Thanks for the info👍
thanks for the video, how different do you think the mileage numbers will be for TQ vs CVT?
