    The dark horse isn't supposed to be tunable either unlike the Mach 1 which is.

    I will happily keep my 21 mach 1 with handling and appearance package. The mach 1 is underrated when it xomes to horsepower and has more personality than the dark horse. Plus after you add options, will definitely be way cheaper. I do love that eruption green. Had that been available in 21 I may have gotten it in that color.

    I've seen a 2024 Mustang in person at an auto show, and of course I've seen plenty of the 2018-23 Mustangs. I think the S550 looks better. It looks much more interesting, with more strong lines in the sides and the hood. It's just more cohesive, and the grille looks much better. So far, no one outside of Ford has driven a 2024, but unless it has a huge performance advantage over the S550, I'm getting an older one lightly used. I don't think the performance will be all that much better with the S650.

    • @rembo183
      @rembo183 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to,agree but it’ll be interesting to compare and test drive a dark horse with 500 hp and see if there’s a big difference justifying a $65k price tag. That’s about $10k more than the GT version. A lightly used model is ok but you can’t know how it’s been used! These cars are driven hard and they still look good! I’d get a new 23 model now and know it’s NEW! Used car prices are still high so that’s not that much difference with the discounts for last years model.

    Love that shade of green. My license plate would read, BADFROG. I don't see the Mach1 or next gen Darkhorse as a big enough jump up from the vanilla GT. It feels more like a pricey option package on top of GT instead of limited edition model without a major powertrain upgrade. Above 400 HP, the 5% HP bump is almost meaningless.

    Hefty discount…not at my dealer, yet, but it’s at MSRP. $63k for premium Mach1, without the HP. Nice car! Fun with the manual.

    I’ve had an SS 1LE 2017 , a C6Z in Lemans Bkue with that horrifyingly nasty LS7 and a few Mustangs. I love American V8 power. There is nothing like a V8 and there’s nowhere like America. Blue Oval or Bow tie? I can honestly say I don’t care. They both offer world class vehicles. FORD GT, Focus RS/ST, Fiesta ST(Probably the American performance cars adored the most by Europeans would be these 2 which is high praise since Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear shit onAmerican cars as often as he could) and then the Shelbys in the 500 and 350/R the MACH 1 and the Dark z horse. On the flip side there is the Grand Sport/Z06/ZR1 SS1LE and ZL11LE and the 14’-15’ Z28 with the LS7 out of my C6Z. Both have made awesome cars. Makes me sad with rhe EV push effected by Biden’s administration. Otherwise we would continue to get such great cars from these two giants of performance. The MACH 1 is a much, much faster/better handling car than people give it credit for. It shares bits from the GT350R and the GT500 for the track. The Coyote may not be as exotic as the Vodoo or Predator but it’s def more reliable. The MACH has been tested against its arch rival, the SSLE on any number of various tracks driven by Professional race car drivers and instructors who can hit lap a car and get to within .1 of a second. Randy Pobst ran these 2 against each other and the Mach posted the faster lap time. Throttle House ran the Camaro and MACH and the Dark Horse. The MACH beat the Camaro again, The Dark Horse, which IMO, is a tuned up Mach 1,,Beat the MACH and WHOOPED the Camaro. Car and Driver has conducted their Lightning lap at VIR since 2006. The MACH 1 is THEE fastest car they have ever lapped at VIR ZUNDER $75k. Ever!! That’s hundreds of cars. The MACH beat the Camaro SS 1LE by 4.6 seconds. An eternity for one lap. The MACH also beat the GT350R. A bad ass machine. The GT350 platform was released in 2015 and the R and D was prob complete in 2013’or earlier. So it’s a decade old. The Mach was released in 2021 so it’s new and has all the tech and mechanics FORD put on the 350 but also the 500 which was released in 2020. So it’s not surprising the MACH beat the GT350R. Ford have refined it so well… Well the results don’t lie. Lap times don’t lie. BTW, that made 3 NA Mustangs that beat the SS at VIR. Mach, GT350R and GT PP2(beat it by 2 seconds at that)! The MACH 1 does not get nearly enough credit and the SS 1LE, although a great car as I loved mine too. Is holding onto titles it no longer deserves… Car and Driver tested the Mach at VIR in 2021. It’s time the narrative start reflecting the truth! See for yourself.

    There is not that much excess inventory of 2023 GTs. Ford was not pushing much inventory to dealerships. There was a short order bank as well knowing that demand would slack off with the S650 on the near horizon.

    • @moviefan4life166

      Ford isn’t selling many mustangs anymore. It’s sad when an aging dodge challenger sells more units.
      I test drove one recently and I don’t know if I desensitized to quick cars, but it just didn’t feel as quick as I thought it would. The average age buyer is middle aged or retired and buying out of nostalgia it seems.
      Gas prices are high, the fuel economy sucks, the back seat is a decoration and the car is just so impractical. It’s great for wealthy households with multiple cars who want a weekend toy I suppose. It seems like the age of the muscle/sports car is fading sadly.

    • @appleiphone69
      @appleiphone69 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@moviefan4life166 well the Mustang started it’s own segment. The pony car. It is impractical if you need to transport more than one passenger. Mine is a summer toy garage princess.

    • @moviefan4life166
      @moviefan4life166 ปีที่แล้ว

      You were wise to buy used. These things depreciate terribly. I’ve owned two mustang gut’s and while I enjoyed them, I think I’ve lost my desire for them. Driving a quick car is fun but it’s almost as if it’s become embarrassing to own a mustang.. there’s so many bad Mustang jokes these days. It’s cool that it’s American, but spending 65k for a car that doesn’t have a snake on it is crazy. This color is very cool but the Mach 1 should have had a shaker like the original. A used gt makes sense for a lot of people, but a new Mach 1 doesn’t make sense for most people. There won’t be many sales period and the new dark horse will suffer the same fate. The tablet dash and odd rear end aren’t doing it any favors either. It’s also nice the it gets a ho increase but it gets heavier too so in the end, it won’t even feel any quicker. Dodge was probably smart to electrify because it’s where things are going and it will actually feel fast.

    • @appleiphone69
      @appleiphone69 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@moviefan4life166 I agree on most of your points. I would not own a Mustang unless it was a convertible. I do not have any tracks near me. So the thought of drag racing or road course, makes no sense. Dodge had to drop the ICE powertrains in their muscle cars because they either could not purchase more carbon credits from Tesla or it got too expensive for their profitability on those models. The reason for lack of a shaker hood on the Mach 1 is because of pedestrian safety standards primarily in Europe. It would not be functional without major changes that would impact handling and ride. They would have to replumb the air intake and remove the strut tower brace.

    • @moviefan4life166
      @moviefan4life166 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well said including the points about the shaker. I wonder what the price point will be for dodge’s new electric muscle that’s in development. Hopefully over time EV will become less costly to make and more affordable for the consumer. So do you have way more smiles per mile with the drop top? Convertibles really are a lot of fun!
