Thanks JT. Just purchased my 2023 Eruption Green Mach 1 last week. Absolutely spot on with all your opinions. Mine is a Tremec 6 speed manual but what a blast to drive on Vancouver Island. People yelling at me what a beautiful car it is as I travel down the road.
J.T. Great review, especially since youve put 10,000 miles on your 2021. SO many reviewers have said, like you, that these Mach1s are 'just plain fun' and 'a blast to drive'. I like how you sum up that it looks good, drives good, and sounds good all while being comfortable. That IS checking all the right boxes. I wasnt shopping for a Mach1, but while looking at F250s I saw a 2023 Mach1 in Dark Matter gray with everything on it that I would want and nothing on it that I didnt want. Impuse buy 2 days later at MSRP ($61,350) and I couldnt be happier. I even like driving to work now! I go out of my way and take longer twisty roads all the time....this Mach1 makes me smile every time I drive it and even laugh out loud at its amazing cornering capabilities. Ford engineers hit this one out of the park, Thanks Ford!
I love my '22 Mach1 Eruption Green w/HP. Picked it up last August in Iowa and drove it home to CA. It's my daily driver and has 12K miles on it, with no oil or noise issues either.
I love these! I work at a Ford Dealership, get excited any chance I get to drive one, especially the 6sp with auto rev match. I wish these had a Different Tire option, the Pilots are not good at all, especially for a Daily haha! Awesome ride my brother! PS: I have a Daytona 392 but still appreciate TF out of these ;)
I got the Jet fighter gray, non-handling package, 6spd, recaros. Dumped about $7500 worth of Steeda suspension and braces; LMR wheels (MPH1’s) look just like the handling pack wheels, except I run 285’s up front and 325’s out back. Handles even better (not that the stock car needed improvement) with the Steeda sway bars and links. The stock sway bars are actually quite robust, just not adjustable. I added Steeda camber plates too to get the front end sorted after the steeda magneride springs were added. Track ready plus!!!! Nothing about this car gets old.
Would u recommend this than. As in buying a base Mach 1, save the money on the financing side. Use the saved money on aftermarket mods to that of the handling pack like you said. Seems like that’s the smarter way to do things if u know you’re gonna track one often and want suspension adjustability
Great review! I just hit 1 year of ownership with my 2022 Mach 1 that I bought in April '23 as a used car with just 688 miles on the odometer. It's a non-HP with the Tremec 6-speed, and I love getting behind the wheel every time I drive it. Shifting gears with the Tremec is a dream compared to the MT-82 that my 2015 GT had. It looks gorgeous (Fighter Jet Grey), sounds amazing (Track mode exhaust ALL the time!), and cost me roughly half the price of a GT500. After 1 year and 7,000 miles of driving, I'd have to be pulled away kicking and screaming to give up this car.
This video is a 100% summary of my mach 1. I acquired it a year and a half ago and just hit 11k miles and I've got to say I haven't had a single performance issue with it. I still have the fender trims that I need to install and wish I would've sooner because my side decal started peeling from a rock chip that I got on the driver side. Luckily my mach 1 is black with red stripes so the peeling that is missing isn't noticeable but it still sucks. I love the car though and I plan on putting a steeda x-pipe on it soon.
Willing to be if you have it on, removing the gurney flap will help with mpg if there is concern about that. Enjoyed the review...Hopefully will be picking up one here in the next 6 months :)
Got a 2023 Mustang GT 6 speed (black with chrome badging) and I couldn't be happier. It's the base model and because of the color, looks more premium than the higher trim models. Bottom line is that the Mustang is a magic carpet and will take you where ever you want to go.
So many people add their 2 cents (this could be better, this is crap, etc), you are the first real and practical review of this car I’ve seen. I also agree 💯that cars are meant to be driven, life is short, and if you buy cars as investments…well you’re a clown. Land is the only thing they’re not making anymore. Probably should stick to that as an investment.
What voodoo magic do you posses? I drove my '21 HP M1 (without the gurney flap installed) home from ME to DC (550 miles) averaging just under 50 MPH and squeezed out 16 MPG.
@rev6859 not voodoo magic…coyote magic…😂 Seriously though…I’m not sure how I achieved it, lots of drafting I guess or a strong tailwind. I was just as surprised as you. I didn’t get as good of mpg on the way back…21.3. I will say, those wonderfully wide tires that come on the HP M1’s rob a lot of MPG.
I have a 21 M1 HP I bought it with 4000 miles on it. It has 7000 miles on it now and I just had to have the valve body in the transmission replaced. It seems to have fixed the problem but still getting weird harsh down shifts and upshift sometimes. It took them three weeks to figure out the problem and finally on the fourth week they got the valve body in and fixed it. My car was up there for a whole month.😩 I finally got her back and it’s driving way better
I've got 22k miles on my 2022 Mach 1 (No handling package), and the car continues to impress. No issues with the car. No squeaks or rattles either. I had a 2017 Mustang GT with the Performance Package that I got rid of at 32k miles. That car had so many maintenance issues, so I was hesitant with the Mach 1. Great video. You describe the experience well.
I have a Mach 1 Non HP, I drive around in D until it gets warmed up then I switch to S. I like S because it kinda has the engine braking when slowing down plus it feels like the brakes stop the car better when in S where in D it feels like the car is very difficult to stop and wants to keep going. Also D doesn't seem like it has downshift rev match, only when in S
Hi Jake, it´s me again, the German guy - living at the birth place of automobil, Mercedes Benz in Stuttgart. A lot of people around the world are dreaming to drive a car from this factory - not me. To get a Mercedes with all that features like the wild horse, you have to pay nearly the double price. During my work-life i build some historical Mercedes rallye-and racecars also with fun factor, but only less design... My BMW M635 on the little picture makes really much fun too in past, so i´m very excited for the pony next week. With smile in my face, i see you covering the speed during your driving... and thought, Germany could be the promised land for you. Ok, thanx for your vid´s and have good time!
Tremec paired with a 5.0, if only it had the 2015-17 front end, if would have been the perfect mustang for me. The S550 interior is way better than the S650. I’d still take the Mach1 over Dark Horse any day of the week and don’t get me started with the GTD. For that kind of $$, I’d take a Ferrari 488
This makes me want to save for a Mach 1. Next year, 2024, around August or so... I cant wait. What an awesome car. And i think im going for the white.... Nice video ..
I was driving by a dealership one day and saw it sitting there, just pulled over and got it. Just happened to be an auto. They had a manual but it was a non handling package and those are not what I wanted. I love the manuals too though
i have the same car same color also auto and its faster then the manuels on take off and also same thing for me drove by fell in love with the color and i would not trade for any manuel i love the auto and Also on the mach 1 it as the revised 10r80 it shift like a beast
I owned a 04 R32 which only came in manual. After eleven years of ownership the novelty wore off. After nine years I just stopped driving the car every day, I got bored with it. I wanted to swap it out to a DSG transmission at one point. I was never going to track it and most of my commute was just straight roads. I own a 18 JCW with an auto and don’t regret not getting the manual. Different strokes for different folks. One day I will get a weekend car with a manual but it has to be a special car.
I haven’t tracked it, it gets out of the hole great. Especially with the 315s in the rear. The gears are 3:55 with the 10 speed auto, 3:73 with the Tremec 6 speed manual
NICE! Looks like you have everything, except Fighter Jet Gray - though your color setup is not bad. I would have optioned the 6SPD, as everyone raves about that TREMEC tranny! I suppose the 10SPD auto is OK, it can hold a good bit of power. I have heard they are squirrly when in "eco" or "drive" mode, though you also noted it was downshifting "too fast" or "too abruptly" - which is interesting - maybe it is engine braking? That is one reason, I love a good V8!
Why would anyone get the Mach 1 with the automatic? Lol.. The whole point of getting the Mach 1 is the tremec.. automatic is more for standard GT.. But even then I would rather buy the manual. 😂 Anyway, I enjoyed the video. Currently deciding on what to do. GT or Mach 1.. Question, do you have "MyColors" option? And does it come with heated and ventilated seats in different package? I've read that cruise control is not great..
i kept searching the comments for some dweeb who would bitch about the auto tranny and here you are lol. not everyone wants to waste time shifting dude. he bought the mach because he didnt want a gt.
I have at GT with manual, my Mach 1 has the automatic with Handling package, ford upgraded the 1080R guts. No way would I get the manual now. 1. It’s been tested it’s faster, period. “Consistency as well” 2. I’m not 20 any more so I don’t need to rev my engine at every stoplight or person that passes. I already know this car is bad to the bone. 3. City driving and highway backups suck. Every manual driver can relate to being stuck in traffic on a highway and engaging, disengaging the clutch 5000 times within 2 miles.. 4. Gas mileage, and many more reasons.
I love your mach1 brother! Me in mine at 9 months and 6000 miles I can only say good things about it, they are great cars. What tire size do you have? 305 / 30 r19 front?
Love your TH-cam channel just purchased a 2021 mach 1 and I have a question, do you notice that your rare spoiler is digging into the paint on the trunk my outside spoiler are chipping the paint pretty badly and it only has 2500 miles is this something that you've noticed also, my car does have the handling package with gt 500 spoiler
okay, i think you convinced me to cancel my s650 order and have my dealer find a grabber blue premium with hopefully the handling and performance packages if possible
Nice video! The M1 HP is a GT350R with a 5.0. This is how Ford describes it internally as well. The GT350/R was engineered to attract Euro car snobs (and many owner attitudes reflect this). The Mach 1 HP is more of an American version of the same car. The exhaust tones and exterior designs reflect this as well. The M1 HP will become more and more desirable as people learn about it, and experience it. It kinda sucks that it launched during the pandemic lockdown. Have you removed the resonator yet? The M1 exhaust sounds amazing stock, but the resonator delete is just 🤌.
@@JakeTiesler I was on the fence about removing my resonator too (M1 HP), and once I did it, all that came to mind was…”Why didn’t I do it sooner..” It will still sound unique, but way better. Those GT500 mufflers, paired with the GT350 intake/CAI and the Coyote…will always give it a unique sound. Sounds incredible. Real question is…H-Pipe vs X-Pipe. I went with the H-Pipe.
I took the resonator off my 21 M1 HP and I put a Corsa double H pipe on it. It sounds amazing. Jake I recommend you do this. it’s the same tone, but slightly louder not too much louder though . I’m not gonna lie. It sounds way better with the resonator delete.
Great video, mine has also just had its first birthday and it’s been absolutely great. Done some long distances too and it purrs effortlessly along. Recaro seats have proven to be very comfortable over long distances and the boot space is the envy of any other large engined car. Drive it on a back country road and life is complete. Can’t get enough of it…😎
When I bought our fiesta st brand new the front pads were down to metal in the first 30,000km.. I was driving it super hard tho and I'm a late breaker but took me by surprise. Got aftermarket pads and rotors all round now and they last a lot longer.
Love my ‘22 Oxford White Mach 1 HP. My only complaints are the lack of ultrasonic backup sensors (how could they have left these off? My cars have had them for 20 yrs now!), lack of adaptive cruise control (again, why?), and Titanic-sized turn radius (from the huge tires, I get it). Also Ford should’ve let us substitute 4Ss instead of Cup 2s. Otherwise, perfect!
This is what bugs me about Ford. Its the common sense shit that there is no excuse for not having on a $60,000+ car. Imagine mustang gt's with piston slap- tic, tic, tic.
I have a Honda ridgeline truck with a short turning radius. Nothing to do with big tires it's just a pain in the butt to park and it has no backup sound.
"Lack of adaptive cruise control" - I'm considering buying a brand-new Mach 1, you just made me 100% for sure decide to do just that! When I set my cruise control, I expect it to maintain the speed I set it at, not slow down and speed up based on the distance the vehicle ahead of me is. If the car in front of me is going too slow, I can tap the brakes, and then pass it when I'm able to. No need for any electronic assists while I'm driving - I'M in control of my car. I'm a tractor-trailer driver, and I've got adaptive cruise on my truck, and now PREDICTIVE cruise, which makes the truck slow down going up hills (in anticipation of the downgrade) even when I have the throttle mashed to the floor - CAN'T STAND that BS!
Only thing i found odd is that with mine the throttle response in track mode is the least sensitive, almost like rain mode. Sport mode feels the fastest due to the touchy throttle response.
That's normal, so when you're on the track you have a linear throttle input. It allows you to adjust throttle input with more sensitivity. The sport plus is a little touchy for when you need to make very incremental throttle input changes mid corner etc.
@@JakeTiesler ya, I just didn't expect it to be so ded, worse than rain ded, feels like gotta floor it to just take off at a light bad.(ok..ok.. last bit was a bit of hyperbole)
Motorcraft full synthetic I'll guess. I'm running that in the winter months in my GT... summer I run redline. Hopefully the issues you've mentioned have been dealt with.. Mach1 is a special car, a keeper.
Great review and I agree! My 22 Grabber Blue Mach1 H.P. is awsome! Mine is similar to your except I don't have the Recaro seats. To old and fat😅. But this car everything you have said. What size tire did you put on the rear. I've got 1800 miles and looking to change tires!
So which mode would you drive it in for the weekend… or which mode can you just leave it on for a good daily drive instead of changing it here and there??
I have a '19 bullitt.. ive never understood why the mach is so much more expensive. Is the tremec that much better? I have 44k miles and its still tight.. maybe i got lucky.
Is anyone else having BAD inside shoulder wear on the front tires with the factory spec street toe alignment? I didnt even get 5000 kms on these cup2's... local dealership says this is NORMAL and i should plan to buy new tires every 3000 kms if im going to daily drive it...
I have a 2020 GT PP1...how much cooler does the rear diff run with the cooler. I live in the Arkansas Ozarks and in spirited driving in the heart of Summer I have seen rear diff temps hit 190F.
Pilot Sport 4S is what came on mine. I got 19k miles out of the fronts before the cords started showing. Not bad though considering how they were driven.
I'll check the dash and see if I can get some data for you, but typically the diff doesn't warm up during the winter on normal drives. During the summer it really doesn't get hot, but I'll try to get some hard numbers
it’s normal for it to down shift harsh at stop bc of all the gears it has to down shift to,to reach 1 and the slip on 3rd-4th i guess is normal too my 18 5.0 spd does that as well got an update and trans fluid change and it still does it
I also have 52k on the car got it at 19k car has be very good to me just recently got a cat delete e85 with a trans tune and man the car is very quick for the mods it has I would highly recommend a e85 tune if you love the car now you’ll love it way more
Yes it downshifts a little too hard sometimes, maybe fluid or maybe programming needs to be updated not sure I need to take it in Can upshift harsh when cold also
I feel extremely happy with my bullitt s550. The interior of the s650 is for like a minivan. Also don't like the exterior. I think these will be collectors

Premium has the heated and cooled seats and the tremec is so fun to drive.
i kept searching the comments for some dweeb who would bitch about the auto tranny and here you are lol. not everyone wants to waste time shifting dude. he bought the mach because he didnt want a gt.
I have at GT with manual, my Mach 1 has the automatic with Handling package, ford upgraded the 1080R guts. No way would I get the manual now.
1. It’s been tested it’s faster, period. “Consistency as well”
Makes me wanna get into debt for the next 5/6 yrs, cool ride
Awesome man great vid great way to do it
I love your mach1 brother! Me in mine at 9 months and 6000 miles I can only say good things about it, they are great cars. What tire size do you have? 305 / 30 r19 front?
305 front and 315 rear factory sizes
Just about to get this as I can’t get my redeye srt replaced! Appreciate this video
🙌🙌
I haven’t removed it, I’m afraid to mess up how great it sounds! I love the M1 HP as well. Something special about it.
@@coastalparasail is this what they call pier pressure? @ClickbaitMotorsports
Not sure about Fiesta but focus has a system that uses the brakes to control torque steer causing brakes to wear faster unfortunately
The pads do wear fast, I loved mine. Great ride
Okay brother you convinced me on buying a Mach 1 versus a GT500
GREAT review.. love the detail and pace of your vids.. keep them coming.
Thanks man 🙌🙌🙌
Great video.
I would get the same tires too. Michelin Piliot Sports are the best hot rod tires.
Great video thanks. I have a 2021 HP tremic. Love it!
The turning radius! Haha it’s true
Haha yeah I was surprised too
@dhyskRand They overboost the throttle in most modes, so you push it 20% and get 60% throttle, for example. Track mode is push 20% get 20%
Nice car man... what oil you running?
Factory spec
Motorcraft full synthetic I'll guess.
I'm running that in the winter months in my GT... summer I run redline.
Hopefully the issues you've mentioned have been dealt with..
Mach1 is a special car, a keeper.
cool car i have a 10speed 19 GT pp1 but i would let it go for a S650 GT350 tremec manny hope they announce it
would be cool, dark horse gets the option i think
Love my 2023 non HP (FJG) with Tremec. Fun to drive and gets lots of looks. Maybe take it to the track one day???...not having the HP.
Def do a track day especially if you’ve never
I thought I was a great driver until I did a track day and learned so much, really fun
305/315 is the same tires set as GT350R
Great review and I agree! My 22 Grabber Blue Mach1 H.P. is awsome! Mine is similar to your except I don't have the Recaro seats. To old and fat😅. But this car everything you have said. What size tire did you put on the rear. I've got 1800 miles and looking to change tires!
Awesome, went factory 315/30/19 PS4
So which mode would you drive it in for the weekend… or which mode can you just leave it on for a good daily drive instead of changing it here and there??
Normal is great as is
🎉Great video! I love my Mach1. I agree with everything you said! What a fun vehicle 🚗!
It’s so fun! 🦍🦍🦍
Long term review
one year?
All the new big 3 go fast cars look great but I'd rather drive what I grew up with. No manufactured exhaust beats a 4 barrel for sound.
Get them while you can.
Once you feel the Shelby GT500 wheel, unfortunately nothing else feels the same :(
Colour and looks alone was worth it
I will be a petrol head till I die, I absolutely love the sound of this mustang mach 1....smiles per gallon
And it's a good comparison to a fox coupe. These will maintain their value.
Nice Machine. So which is better the one
Mach 1
Or
GT
Everyone please give opinion thanks
Appreciate it 🥳
I have a '19 bullitt.. ive never understood why the mach is so much more expensive. Is the tremec that much better? I have 44k miles and its still tight.. maybe i got lucky.
9:00 should have been implemented long ago to save the bad rep leaving meets 😖
20mpg wtf. My ecoboost/beast only gets 18 mpg but i live in the city.
Yeah that’s highway
Is anyone else having BAD inside shoulder wear on the front tires with the factory spec street toe alignment? I didnt even get 5000 kms on these cup2's... local dealership says this is NORMAL and i should plan to buy new tires every 3000 kms if im going to daily drive it...
That was my experience
Nice video.
Thanks!
It wont be worth more later . Needs to be a S helby or Cobra period .
During the summer it really doesn't get hot, but I'll try to get some hard numbers
it’s normal for it to down shift harsh at stop bc of all the gears it has to down shift to,to reach 1 and the slip on 3rd-4th i guess is normal too my 18 5.0 spd does that as well got an update and trans fluid change and it still does it
I also have 52k on the car got it at 19k car has be very good to me just recently got a cat delete e85 with a trans tune and man the car is very quick for the mods it has I would highly recommend a e85 tune if you love the car now you’ll love it way more
Thanks for the feedback
hi how r u bro i have question about mach 1 2021 downshifting gear did u heard like shock or somthing like that or normal
Yes it downshifts a little too hard sometimes, maybe fluid or maybe programming needs to be updated not sure
I need to take it in
Can upshift harsh when cold also
I wish I was rich enough to afford one. With insurance your looking at $1500/month. I'm jealous
Have you made a vid about how much it costed to get off the lot monthly payment etc? Or did you cash it out lol
I have not, it was $70,000. The channel pays for half of it and I traded my 2015 GT PP in for it, got almost of half the cost for it.
Does anyone know if you can buy the handling pack after the purchase and they just install it? (like with other tunings)
Mustang !!! The car that VW DON´T have !!!
I feel extremely happy with my bullitt s550. The interior of the s650 is for like a minivan. Also don't like the exterior. I think these will be collectors
Cool carrito😊
Tennessee? How far do you live from Scotty Kilmer? LOL
Born and raised. Not sure what county he lives in, but probably not too far.
You still have your Mach 1 Jake?
@@MrMashman93 yes I do, but it’s for sale possibly
What if you get your chin spoiler’s chin spoiler a chin spoiler?
Lol
Be prepared for 36% depreciation the first year. This is not a car that you buy to keep for a year and flip.
I love a Ford Mustang mach 1
You DRIVE A manual .
You are a passenger in an AUTO .
Are you related to Cletus? Swear your his brother.. lol Thought i was watching a cletus video for the first few minutes until i looked at the name.
Awesome car!!!
You need an oil catch can on passenger side,TRUST ME.
Then I gotta drain it!!!
@@JakeTiesler Its easier to drain the catch can, than your intake manifold.
Juice ain’t worth the squeeze for me
Aww man you lost me when I saw the auto shifter 😢
Not bad but too much electronics for me. 85 5.0 LX here I bought new and for last 13 years 540/560 427 Windsor with 5 spd. 2900 lb go kart!
Man that sounds fun!!!
Yeah, Mach1 is an amazing car, but not better than a GT350R. And that specific Mach1 has only one major flaw: It's automatic.
Love it.
Still no VOODOO!
Number M4930 here.
