It is March 2022 and my car has still not been assigned a build date. Hoping it gets built sometime in early May, with June delivery. If you want one at a good price, checkout the Mach 1 section of the mustang6g forum, there are two dealers actually willing to give great deals.
I was ordering mine luckily enough they have 3 coming in exactly how I want for October in the uk. As of Wednesday this week Ford have been emailed saying they are no longer making the Mach 1 as it isn’t cost affective.
I'm late to the video. But I got my 2021 mustang mach 1 custom ordered for 7% below MSRP. I added every option and package except for the rear seat delete. 58k$ and some change. My window sticker was 63,495$ I dont think it's over priced for what I got. I'm extremely happy with it. I'm 29, I bought it when I was 28, and it's my first ever car that I ordered from the factory. I did get the 10 speed auto, because I have knee issues after completely tearing my ACL in half. I still drive a manual from time to time, but since I plan on keeping this car for the rest of my life, I figured the automatic would be better since I know I need knee replacement surgery. I'm just holding off on it, so that I might only need 1 knee replacement surgery in my lifetime. The car is so fun to drive, and accelerates so fast. I absolutely love it. So far I have gotten it up to 145mph. That adrenaline is exhilarating.
Agreed on the "Flaw" that's one of the main reasons I bought my 2020 GT350 7 months ago... Get 'em while you still can, this golden age of ICE engines is coming to an end.
For that money, you can still buy a low mileage GT350 and have enough left over to buy a warranty if you wanted it. I like the Mach 1, (the Mach E is NOT a Mustang by any stretch of the imagination), but the price point is crazy. You paid the higher price for the 350 because it was actually a special car. This isn't really. It's a parts bin car made from the outgoing GT PP2, the 350, and parts of the almost unobtainable GT500 slapped on a Mustang GT with some nice stickers. I do want the wheels though. Wonder if they fit on a 17 GT350? :)
GT350 is just sooo unreliable though, that’s why the Mach-1 is so appealing. I have a Shelby and will likely trade for a mach1 because the Shelby is in the shop every other week with something broken unfortunately

Decent car, priced too high at 63K. Unfortunately, there are very few people under 40 who can drive a stick and even fewer who know what “heel and toe” is. You’re right about the interior. If this car had the electric Mustang’s interior or a Lincoln interior, I’d buy it. I’m at the age where I’ll happily pay for a nice interior. Lastly, very few people are ever going to track their Mach One.
Definitely expensive. Most people can't heel and toe, much less drive manual. The interior is definitely getting old. It feels solid, but just cheap materials. Most people never track their cars of course, but you can definitely take this to the track.
Tons of videos of this car on the Internet, still: love the approach you took and the music you incorporated. Very clean examination of an iconic car. Thank you for putting this together for us. 🔧 ✌️
Great car. Obviously better than the regular GT in a lot of important ways, and better looking...but DAMN that's a massive price increase, and the regular GT is already pretty sweet. If they offered that Tremec in the GT Premium, I'd definitely stick with that. Since they don't....I'm really tempted to splurge for the Mach.
Honestly the 10 Speed is what I ended up going with on my PP2 premium. Hated the MT82 and that 10 speed really is the best automatic transmission on the market currently. Drive both and see what you like!
I have a 2021 GT performance pack with every single bell and whistle you can have, wondering how different this gear box feels as well as a little extra HP. Would love to get into one of these and drive it, as well as get into a GT350(r) and feel the difference. Not interested in anything not manual ;)
@@jmhutner jealous. The MT82 for the most part is fine for me. I'm not tracking my car, and even some back road, more aggressive driving it's fine but definitely would like something a little smoother and quicker.

I bought my 2017 Performance Pack GT with only 8,909 miles on her and I love this car.. I'm on a staggered set up I have the strut tower and the beef'ed up sway bar, but the best thing I like about my GT is the 373's. You need at least 305's on the back these cars and 285's to 295's up front for better handling.. I am planning on doing a new set of GT350 wheels and tires on my GT..

Personally I believe that a GT with the performance package, and maybe an altered suspension (slightly altered that is), with a pretty confident and experienced driver can do just as well even without the extra 20 horsepower than a novice. I don't know if that makes the mack one (aside from the external differences) worth an extra $15000.
You said it yourself. YOU DON'T KNOW. Let me help. MUCH better manual trans, Better aero, more power, much better cooling, much better wheels and tires, and much better appearance both in the front end and rear end with a different lower-front-end, different splitters, spoilers, exhaust, it's price includes the mag ride, and on top of that it's not just a regular GT, it a legendary "Mach 1." I optioned up a regular GT premium and it was $55k, and I optioned up the Mach 1 similarly and it was $61k. People have to look at the details of what's included, and the specific options, instead of simply saying why is it $15k more.
@@kevinbreese5739 . I get it. but bin parts are bin parts. Now if they're installed at production or at the dealer, the only thing you really get is a VIN number that supports the fact that you have what you have. But you're going to pay a price for that. And that's what I wrestle with.
The thing is a loaded GT is 53k. A well-optioned mach 1 is 58-59k. I don't know about you, but to me that's really not a huge difference for a better looking car with a better transmission and such heritage.
Jim can you tell me why you like it more than your GT350R? I’m shopping both and can’t decide! I love Shelby’s but I know the voodoo has issues but it’s also unique and might hold its value for that and the Shelby name. But I also really like the Mach 1
We looked at the Mach e and the Mustang Mach 1 back to back. Both stickered at $53k. The Mustang Mach 1 interior was vastly superior to the Mach e. The driving experience was complete with the Mustang Mach 1 which included the V8 sound and feel. The Mach e was sterile.
They are not even remotely comparable. A much more desirable variation of the Mustang would be a European body style called a "shooting brake". Keep the v8 and manual transmission. Lose the backseat in exchange for a flat cargo floor and add a rear liftgate.
I have a 2022 mach 1 10 speed auto and i love it .has everything fighter jet gray recaro leather elight package magniride digital dash. Brembos breaks.
No matter what you may personally think of Dodge's Hellcat lineup, you have to admit that the current muscle car craze wouldn't have come to pass without them. By investing so heavily on an overpowered, almost overwhelming platform 6.2 liter, supercharged Hellcat HEMI V8--then doubling down by stuffing their INSANELY powerful engine into anything that engine would fit, they forced other manufacturers out of the comfort zone and into a Muscle Car Arms Race, where technology is combined with good old-fashioned brute strength to create some of the best, most powerful, much celebrated and it almost goes without saying, fastest cars on sale ever. While I'm a Mopar fan, through and through,I certainly wouldn't kick the Mach 1 out of my garage.
Ford nailed it with this “parts bin” car they definitely used all of the right parts especially the tremec 6 spd, why couldn’t they have built the bullit in the same manner for us who prefer a more understated styled Stang.

I'll keep my Manual 2018 GT. It's not a 20 hp increase over a stock 2018 GT. It's only 10 hp over a 2018 GT. Definitely not worth the price to upgrade from a performance perspective.

Yes, this is a Mustang to get. The cost to upgrade a GT to this level will cost more and the resale value of a modified GT may disappoint. Currently, the Dark Horse took this slot in the brand lineup. Personally, I’ve become a bigger fan of naturally aspirated V8s over time, and (don’t tell Ford) the Coyote has performed well. Leave it to car manufacturers to complicate things and mess things up. So, time is running out to get a car that runs the “do it all” muscle car formula as well as the Mach 1.
I'm on board with fighting climate change and not against electric cars However I'm not wealthy and it's taking me a long time to finish a project car. If you want one at a good price, checkout the Mach 1 section of the mustang6g forum, there are two dealers actually willing to give great deals.
Unfortunately delays are everywhere
I was ordering mine luckily enough they have 3 coming in exactly how I want for October in the uk. As of Wednesday this week Ford have been emailed saying they are no longer making the Mach 1 as it isn’t cost affective.
I like the new Mach 1. They timed it perfect by cycling out the 350’s and made them cheaper in the used market so now I can buy one. 🤣
21k to swap the engine at FORD (if you’re out of warranty) and the 350 is NOTORIOUS for oil consumption issues which require the swap.
All I’m saying is make sure yours is good or under warranty. Mike sat for 3 months while the dealer swapped it. (Perfect with the gen 2 motor though).
Ridiculous comments about the turn signal stalk. It works and feels fine.
My '79 Fiesta S had an awesome turn signal stalk! It was made in Germany. It would go 90 all day long...on 12" wheels.
Get the great cars now. Rare vehicles will be worth a lot down the road.
The one I configured was a Mach 1 premium in Twister 🍊 Handling & Elite package $62,540!
Excellent review
For that money, you can still buy a low mileage GT350 and have enough left over to buy a warranty if you wanted it. I like the Mach 1, (the Mach E is NOT a Mustang by any stretch of the imagination), but the price point is crazy. You paid the higher price for the 350 because it was actually a special car. This isn't really. It's a parts bin car made from the outgoing GT PP2, the 350, and parts of the almost unobtainable GT500 slapped on a Mustang GT with some nice stickers. I do want the wheels though. Wonder if they fit on a 17 GT350? :)
You're paying for the Tremec basically... If you are buying an automatic then might as well just get a GT Premium
GT350 is just sooo unreliable though, that’s why the Mach-1 is so appealing. I have a Shelby and will likely trade for a mach1 because the Shelby is in the shop every other week with something broken unfortunately
great vid, thanks Eric, considering buying one of these in France (with crazy pollution tax over here - the car cost 105,000 euros) ...
Excellent review! You’re right about the heavy nature of these brutes. A light weight 2500 -3000 Mustang like the original would be terrific! We can expect an all electric Mustang one day… that really looks like one not an SUV!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Gotta love the shifting sounds recorded in a car with an automatic 😁
Sorry! My editor took some liberties with the audio that I missed. He's a great editor though and this was one of our first videos.
@@revmatchtv I get it that audio is tricky and everyone wants perfection in the finished product. However I subscribe to the rawness of the moment and prefer some character! Enjoyed the segment Keep on keepin on!
@@revmatchtv Oops, my bad! :\
Love mine and got it with 1,200 miles on it for $49k and couldn't be happier.
Awesome. It's a fantastic car. Congrats!
Nice work. One of the best reviews I have seen on these Mach 1’s. Thank you for posting!
Ps. I’m buying one this month ; )
I've been thinking about buying one since I made this video
I have a 2016 GT350, a real gem, I will keep my car!
Glad you enjoyed it! I love the Mach 1.
Manual for the win, for sure. Especially on a car like a mustang! The tremec is incredible and so fun, worth the money imo
I have a 2021 GT performance pack with every single bell and whistle you can have, wondering how different this gear box feels as well as a little extra HP. Would love to get into one of these and drive it, as well as get into a GT350(r) and feel the difference. Not interested in anything not manual ;)
Having owned more than one MT-82s and a 2019 GT350, I can tell you the transmission is sooooo much better.
@@jmhutner jealous. The MT82 for the most part is fine for me. I'm not tracking my car, and even some back road, more aggressive driving it's fine but definitely would like something a little smoother and quicker.
Same here. I love my 2020 Bullitt, but would like to drive either the Mach 1 or a GT350 to fell the difference in transmission? I wonder how much to upgrade it in my Bullitt?
Wheels on the handling package (featured in this video) have 19x10.5 in the front and 19x11 rear. Base model Mach 1 is 9.5 front and 10 rear
On the scales at my local track Mach 1 auto's are around 3920-3950 and 6 speed car are 3840-3870. There's about a 70lb difference between the auto and manual.
I need this car!!
One of my favorite cars I've driven this year!
well go get one
Thanks for this! Are all modern V8 Mustangs 32V now? When did that begin?
Super fun to drive. Powerful. Squeaks and rattle interior.
Headlights are from the s550 gen 2 not the gt500
I love manual transmissions and would feel more confident driving the mustang with the tremec 3160 over the MT-82
Sure hope these kinds of cars are around when im able to get one. 22 in college, still got a lot of work to do
Save up and become an entrepreneur!
EV's are not going to sell, already they are not selling.
The end almost made me cry. :(
Your sound bite engine sounds in some of your accelerations are from the auto trans aren’t they? I can hear the difference….
100% correct… why they did this makes zero sense because the Mach 1 sounds great in “Track”
I don't know why but it was awesome when you poured one out....Literal LOL. Subscription earned!
I love my used 2019 Bullitt with 5,000 miles and I saved major $$ over a new Mach. Amazing cars! The more I drive it the more I love it!
Great car!
Kinda like a Sport Touring motorcycle. A bit heavy but fast and stable. I love mine.
It's a neat car, but for $65k, I'd personally stretch a bit more for a C8.
All good in theory, but a C8 is $100K right now for a used one. The car market is all upside down!
@@revmatchtv True! But C8 prices will come down eventually (esp base models once the Z06 is released). And I wonder, is the Mach 1 going for sticker? Or is it a hot commodity as well?
@@RetroCarsForever Hot commodity too. The fun cars are lately unobtainium 🙁
The foglight covers are removable and ramair to the airbox and transcooler.
Put that 5.0 in the Bronco to compete with the Wrangler 392.
And the gt500’s 5.2 sc in the explorer to compete with the hellcat Durango just for s and g’s
Solid review. I had a '19 Bullitt and, having never owned a Mach 1 in my long Mustang career, would've preferred it over the Bullitt. It's the ultimate of the S550 gen.
Why'd you get rid of the Bullitt?
@@JimS870 I too had a 19 Bullitt and sold it with 900 mile .I also have an 18 10 Performance pack which i kept ..the bullitt was a dissapointment in performance due to the gear ratios in the MT-82 D4 it just cant hold a candle to the A10!!!!
FORD please put the Tremec into the GT and sell it for 35k !!!!! For us peasants
The problem is most people born after a certain time, don't know how to drive manuals.. It works out perfect for the people who want and love driving manual's because they end up being cheaper than the auto's.. I bought my 2017 Performance Pack GT with only 8,909 miles on her and I love this car.. I'm on a staggered set up I have the strut tower and the beef'ed up sway bar, but the best thing I like about my GT is the 373's. The only thing they should have done was go widder on the wheels and tires.. These cars make to much power for 255's and 275's tire's.. You need at least 305's on the back these cars and 285's to 295's up front for better handling.. I am planning on doing a new set of GT350 wheels and tires on my GT..
When you can no longer buy an internal combustion engined car, the price of the old ones will skyrocket. Especially V8 powered performance cars.
I think the S650 will be the last fully ICE Mustang. We’ve got about 10 years is my guess.
Crazy how expensive cars have gotten these days. Especially Mustangs. ☹
Tell me about it
I've been a Mustang fan for years I remember roaming the Lots at my local Ford dealership back in the late 80s early 90s you could get a fully loaded Mustang GT five speed car for around $15,000. Car prices are absolutely insane these days! Along with everything else.
@@davedave2882 I hear ya. I remember looking forward to buying one someday but inflation has outpaced my income unfortunately. I was closer to being able to buy one 20 years ago than today. 🤷♂️
@@Icebergslim333 man I understand completely. After paying outrageous amounts of Child Support on 2kids for about 15 years and living in a small apartment. I work all the overtime I could. Finally after all those years of working all that overtime once my child support was done about five months later I was able to purchase a nice home and then kept my eyes open for a year on a dream car. I had to go out of state but I found a mint 13,000 mile Shelby GT500 Track Pack car. White with the dark blue racing stripes. 662 hp completely stock. Make sure you shop around. And in my opinion these new s550s are not worth the money people are asking for them.
@@davedave2882 Yup! I had a Fox body back in the day.
Is it fun? You mentioned you can't really spin up the wheels in 2nd gear. Can you get the rear end to move around at all? I enjoy a slight drift off corners here and there.
It's a fantastic driver's car. Super engaging. You can't go wrong with a Mach 1. Definitely recommended.
Thanks for the review. I have the 10 speed automatic in Velocity Blue. I was disappointed that Ford did not offer the leather with the accent seats. They only offered the cloth standard or cloth Recaro. No leather. if you, or any the viewers, have a part number I would love to up grade to the leather seats with the accent line on the top part of the seat. Thanks. 😎
I got leather in mine…
@@davidhesse6847 can I ask what interior package number you did? Mine was the 600. Thanks
@48reb
Not sure I’ll look but I think it’s with the mach1+ or mach1 something with the orange line on the seats but they are completely leather. The car is in a garage I rent in another town I drive 18 wheeler the window sticker is in the glove of car.I’ll look when I get home & tell you.
@@48reb sorry read below sir
@@davidhesse6847 Thanks. I don’t know why the seats are not universal for any rendition of the MACH 1. I’ve seen photos of the white trim in leather. I’ve contact my dealer and the referred me to Ford and they in turn referred back to my dealer. I know there has to be a way. Thank you for your time. Drive safe.
Excellent review!
Thank you for pointing out the interior on these mustangs being underwhelming.
Thanks for the video
Totally agree. I own an identical one and I love it over my 20 GT350R and 20 GT500. Great car.
This is a car I've been thinking about since I drove it!
Jim can you tell me why you like it more than your GT350R? I’m shopping both and can’t decide! I love Shelby’s but I know the voodoo has issues but it’s also unique and might hold its value for that and the Shelby name. But I also really like the Mach 1
For that price you can basically get a ZL1. Game over at that point
Question. Driving in different "modes", does this change the MPG?? ((Driving normally of course in all modes))
It's a great looking car but is there enough of a difference from a GT to warrant the extra cost? Love the appearance package though
Quite different vehicles with a rather similar name.
You are comparing apples to oranges. First clue, one makes noise and the other one doesn’t.
They are not even remotely comparable. A much more desirable variation of the Mustang would be a European body style called a "shooting brake". Keep the v8 and manual transmission. Lose the backseat in exchange for a flat cargo floor and add a rear liftgate.
EVs suck !
@@mr.wilson8340 Ford considered them comparable when they applied the Mustang name to the new ev product to hopefully inspire confidence. Sad.
long live the horse
2:49 was that engine sound was really the manual shifting ? Sounds like the a10
Same on 5:14 lol
I have a 2022 mach 1 10 speed auto and i love it .has everything fighter jet gray recaro leather elight package magniride digital dash. Brembos breaks.
American muscle is the best. V8, rear-wheel, manual transmission, 2 door.
The Hellcat engines are absolutely bonkers and I love that Dodge puts them in everything!
Ford nailed it with this “parts bin” car they definitely used all of the right parts especially the tremec 6 spd, why couldn’t they have built the bullit in the same manner for us who prefer a more understated styled Stang.
Maybe the Bullit will return with the S650 generation in a couple years?
@@revmatchtv buddy from your mouth to Dave Paricak’s ears. That may return a little of the respect he lost for calling the Mach-e aka Edge-E a mustang.

Main problem with this car is its price . Theres no way id buy one of these when you can get a brand new nicely configured SS 1LE for 47K new . I dont understand why the GT premium is so expensive in the first place vs camaro .
I'll keep my Manual 2018 GT. It's not a 20 hp increase over a stock 2018 GT. It's only 10 hp over a 2018 GT. Definitely not worth the price to upgrade from a performance perspective.
Is anyone else having BAD inside shoulder wear on the front tires with the factory spec street toe alignment? I didnt even get 5000 kms on these cup2's... local dealership says this is NORMAL and i should plan to buy new tires every 3000 kms if im going to daily drive it...
This is absolutely one of my favorite Mustangs, and personally I'd take this over a Dark Horse because it's now less money, and you can tune it.
I'm on board with fighting climate change and not against electric cars However I'm not wealthy and it's taking me a long time to finish a project car. I just hope I'll be allowed to drive it by the time I finish it.
I doubt there will be a complete ban on driving gas cars but the fuel will be pricey and possibly limits on when you can drive it.
I just hope to enjoy it in the summers one day.
