    Totally agree! Love my 21 mach 1 with handling and appearance package. I think these cars are underrated in appreciation and horsepower. Also, you pointed out the Bullitt, well the mach 1 has the Tremac not the getrag, so that will only help it. The new mustangs don't have the personality. I hate that dashboard, just an iPad slapped on there.

      Yeah, definitely the Tremec will help the Mach 1 hold it's value. It's the first coyote mustang to ever be paired with the Tremec Transmission and the only S550 with a really good manual (besides the GT350)

    If I was choosing between a S550 and S650 I’d take the S550. I think I they are styled better being either the GT, Mach 1 or GT350. I also can’t get over the huge screen on the interior. I have seen the S650 in person and it is nice but just think the S550 is better. Great points made

      Both cars are great. I like you, can't get over the big screens but I also understand that Ford had to move on to keep the mustang relevant with today's trends.

      ​@@TheMGChannelI don't think they needed tablets lazily glued to the dash and not properly integrated to "stay with the times" I know that is a trend of all auto makers these days and they followed it they should have done it right unlike all these other makers. Imo it isn't changed enough from the s550 for an all new car it looks more like a refresh and even rides on the same s550 chassis. Idk why they even call it an s650 at this point. I knew pretty early on it would be a disappointment. Soon as I seen the first spy shots I was like hell it's another s550 lol. Only difference is this one has ugly screens inside and a locked ecu. There is no way I'd consider an s650 over anything honestly. There are much better options in the used market from Ford. Like MUCH better. Especially for the money spent.

    My not wanting an S650 started that night of the live reveal in September '22 also. I was shocked that poser Stangmode was part of it, and after seeing the car I was not very impressed. After that I decided I'd wait and not order one to replace my '21. And within a couple weeks decided I'd just do a custom order on a '23 and build it exactly the way I wanted, and that is what I did. So glad I did, I don't like the new ipod dashes, I'm not a fan of the rear body styling of the S650, I'm not impressed with a locked ECU or the price increase. After the S650 was out and reviewers started sharing driving impressions I realized other things like "numb steering" and other driveabilility issues existed too. Feel like I dodged a bullet, saved money and still got what I really wanted.

    Made same decision after selling my 2016 GT350. Really wanted to like the S650, but the 2021 Mach 1 6MT has a certain rawness to it that makes it more fun to drive.

      You can’t go wrong with gen 3 coyote and a tremec 6 speed, all in a great package from Ford. GT350 I feel like it’s the more raw experience and offers more drama, but the Mach 1 gives you amazing reliability and about 80 percent of that 350 experience.

    S650 owner chiming in. I would probably take the Mach 1 over the S650. GT for GT, though, I would absolutely take the S650. The S650 is a more refined car, IMO (I've owned two S550s). And the screens? I know I'm in the minority but I love them. I was so glad they got away from all of the tradition and moved the car forward instead of harkening back to the past.

      Thanks for sharing your input as a S650 owner and congrats on your new car btw. Yeah, I agree with you, Ford had to keep the mustang relevant and move on with modern times. I don't hate the screens, I really dislike the integration of the screens into the dashboard. It honestly looks like two tables sticking up in the dashboard (mainly the base cars). The screens themselves provide awesome information and great graphics. I also wish that Ford would've made physical controls for the A/C controls and not everything be so screen dominated. Besides that the cars looks awesome and sounds great from the factory.

      Why do people think tech is so great in a performance car they sell em with gimmicks these days it's become less and less like a drivers car and more like a tech filled modern car where the price has gone up and performance hasn't improved maybe even got worse. Just because it has a higher hp rating doesn't mean it's actually a faster car lol. It literally rides on an s550 chassis with minor tweaks. It's supposed to be an all new mustang. Oh it's more refined (that isn't always a good thing) big deal all they gotta do to make it more refined is give it more sound deadner and a better ride quality and it'll feel more "refined" Ford got lazy with this model and everyone just accepts it because it has fancy cringe screens and a drift brake. Smh

    I have a 2021 Mach 1 handling pack car. It's an automatic. I drove the manual at the Track Attack. Hands down the automatic was much faster all day long at the track. Enjoy your car, the Mach 1 is superior to any S650. Still, I'm glad Ford is keeping the V8 around in that platform.

    The only way I would choose the s550 over the s650 is for the mach1. Other than that the s650 is so refined.

    You made the right choice… No question… Imagine the regrets back in the day when people chose an 05 GT over an 04 Mach 1.. Totally different situation but similar..

      Yeah, that's a great point. Many people traded cobras for 05 GTs, pretty sure they regret that decision at some point.

      ​@@Awkwamanwitdastangyea people choose them over the boss but they shouldn't the boss is way more unique and a much better drivers car. It has just as much potential as any of the newer coyotes when it comes to how much power it can take on stock bottom end. It will hang right with a performance package s550 in the twisties with a good driver behind the wheel. The boss is far more unique but people get the s550 because it's newer and has fancy tech and other useless crap. I like tech and all but in a performance car it's not that needed. You can put an aftermarket deck in a boss and have android auto and Apple car play just like newer cars outside of that none of the other crap is really needed. Cars are getting too far away from what we all loved about them to start with. The boss was one of the last true drivers cars that was truly special and unique and great bang for the buck. Those days are long behind us now they offer dark horses for 70+k when they're at the same spot in the lineup the boss could keep up with a dark horse in the twisties and prob beat it in a straight line and it costed 40k prob wouldn't even be 50k in today's money. Now they load it down with more tech and less performance for alot more money. The bang for buck days are long gone.

    My reason: the 2023 Mach 1 was $7000 off list of $64k; the 2024 GT had to be ordered and was the same list price, but without any discount.

    Don’t like the new stang. Interior is horrendous with a giant screen. No more analog bezels and gauges. Fml. No thanks. I bought a 2021 Mach 1 and I am super happy for it!

    I had a chioce a 2022 mach 1 with 4k are a dark horse without HP IT WAS A STICK BUT THE PRICE DIFFERENCES WAS 56K FOR MACH 1 ARE 83K FOR DARK HORSE DEARLER MARKUP IS 10K

      There is no way in hell I'd buy any s650 over anything before it. It's a refreshed s550 with a bunch of useless gadgets added and a locked down ecu. 83k for a dark horse lmao. And people actually pay that shit. It's comical. A 2012 boss 302 could keep right up with it and it was literally at the same spot in the lineup and it's over 10 years old! Yet people are dropping 80k on them when a boss wouldn't even be 50k in today's money

    Many of the same reasons Im buying a 2022 Mach I in one week with 4900 miles on it over a dark horse and its $37k which doesn't hurt.

    Sorry but you shouldn't compare the Mach 1 with the S650 GT, you are not coming apples with apples. the Dark Horse replaced the Mach 1 and they should be compared. Having said that, the Dark Horse has more in it like from the GT500 among other things. I went to buy a used S550 2023 Mach 1 here in Sydney Australia and they are selling for $99.000 AUD, so i opted to get the new S650 Dark Horse at a similar price as it is better value. Having said that, i do really love the Mach 1. Also, I would rather listen to someone who has driven and spent time in both cars.

      Well this video is about my thought process months ago when I considered the S650 GT or the Mach 1. These are my personal reasons why I decided to go for the Mach 1. I never really considered the Dark Horse, I knew that dealerships were going to ask crazy mark ups that I wasn’t willing to pay.

If you like rolling round in stock cars have fun. For those of us who wanna mod and increase performance the s650 is not even close to the optimal choice for that

      @@TheMGChannel yes, the mark ups by some dealers in the US is close to criminal, there should be some kind of law against it or at least Ford should restrict them from marking up so much or they face no car deliveries, or something. like i said, the MACH 1 is an awesome car & i would have really love to have gotten one, but, here in Sydney Australia, i can buy the new S650 Dark horse at the same cost, hence why i went with the Dark Horse. Also, our mark ups are much higher than yours in the US, for example, to buy an old 2013 Shelby, they are approx $299,000.00 AUD, a used 2023 Mack 1 is anything from $110,000 to $120,000 plus on road costs on top of that ( i just looked them up to see what they are selling for now ). A new S650 Dark Horse is between $110,000 to $120,000 for the top model. It would be great and very interesting if you could possibly compare the Mach 1 to the Dark Horse sometime in the future though. Keep up the interesting content.

      @@mariamosca4468 hi Maria, the $99k plus on road costs is for a used car, the 2023 S550 Mach 1. Mine is the Dark Horse and is about $122K including on road costs and everything else with it as i ordered the appearance package. So, i was better off getting a new Dark Horse at the similar price. When i checked out the Ford website on pricing, they were saying that the Dark Horse starts at $103k plus on road costs and inclusions, so that would take it to the $120k mark. if you need anymore information, please let me know as i am happy to help.

    You chose the 550 Mach 1 because the new 650 looks like absolute Shit! I’m a mustangs fan and it’s not growing on me. It’s shit, period! You made the right choice💪🤙✅
