Dodging is also different in Jedi: Survivor. Cal dodges more skillfully and concentrates as he's doing so. No, I'm not talking about precision evade. In Survivor, Cal actually closes his eyes if you do a standard dodge in the backwards direction. He also seems to become somewhat see-through and transparent while in the act of dodging.

It funny how smooth the frametime and framerate of Fallen Order is when cutting between the footage of both games. You can tell frametime is inconsistent on the Survivor footage (even with the brute force of the 4090).
For me, the respawn time improvement for Jedi survivor is a big plus for me. I don’t like when games have a long respawn time. I really enjoy playing on hard difficulty so I definitely need the time to respawn to be quicker. I had to stop playing jedi fallen order for that reason.
it's mainly a next gen vs old gen thing. you don't really appreciate next gen games until you play an old gen game and see the load times. I remember trying to play TLOU2 and was sick of waiting for the loading screens despite it being like 30 or so secs

Both games are great but for the moment I do prefer the first game, yeah overall it has less content and it's fairly linear compared to the second but I liked that a little bit more. Most of the side content you get in the 2nd game is great and I love completing it, everything feels a bit more alive compared to jedi fallen order but I struggled knowing when to explore and when to carry on with the main story. I really liked that in the 1st game you couldn't really stop moving, you had a very small crew and the only real safe place you had was the mantis,it made everything feel a little bit more tense. In jedi survivor some of the characters that you've come to know have settled down and started doing other things, that's not a bad thing in any way,it's good direction for the characters to go in I just preferred the approach of the 1st game.

dude faller order is nothing in front of survivor the force powers are crazy in survivor, i never replay a game once i finish it but jedi survivor is the only exception, this video didnt even mention all the combat differences theres a massive difference in combat, survivor is way ahead of fallen order, in fact you can combine different force powers l
Awesome Video, btw theres no such thing as a "Lead Protagonist" cuz a protagonist is already a "lead" person, as far as i know. What CPU do you run to play that game on that resolution with that settings while capturing next to the 4090?
The game looks really good, I do wish there was a little more done with the textures, like with the water, and the movement of the plants. I think the audio of the lightsaber in Fallen Order sounds more like the original trilogy, but I think all the other sounds Survivor are an upgrade. Really looking forward to it, I hope the few things get tweaked and upgraded with patches. Also improved upon. Honestly the scenes of walking through water look like something straight out of a 2019 game, very pathetic. I'm a huge Star Wars geek so I will probably get it for the story and canon of it, just hope they eventually update some of those little things. Thanks for the side by side! I love it when you do these! ❤️
Pretty sure the difference in audio comes from the two different color crystals. They have different sounds per crystal in FO, I expect the same is true in Survivor. A proper comparison would have matched the color in both games.
I would've preferred force slow to be grouped with confuse, lift and slam as more specific force abilities. Companion assist could've been contextual/prompted presses of the focus button.

There's plenty that I did not share. These are just the fundamental basics of the game itself. Most gamers haven't even played Fallen Order and want to know what this game actually is.
PS5 and Series X have ray tracing as well, though locked to 30fps. In the original release both options had rey tracing weirdly, causing dips in performance mode, but after updates performance drops ray tracing and is a buttery smooth 60fps all the way through.
3:59 Merrin the only new model i kinda dont like ... such a weird change and she looks more "dead" than she did in the first game. Like the overall less makeup makes the grey skinton not standing out that much as before imo

I'm tempted by Ray tracing Jedy Survivor, and later I'll try playing Jedy Falen on the PS4 console. I've never finished any Star Wars game before, but Star Wars Jedy, all the visual aspects look good.🙂
I found it odd they removed or just never added slow motion objects like the fans n platforms cal used slow on in fallen. Idk seemed like something that looked good that wasn't hard to implement but maybe they are
From the previous one I missed the cool cinematics and flashbacks when learning a new ability. Survivor didn't focus on that, it's like they just added a new ability to Cal with no context.

Great comparison video and review. Earned a subscriber
I´d rather play the game in fallen order engine and sacrifice the miniscule graphic improvements and sharper textures if it means the game actually runs as its supposed to.
I don't know why but I find your videos so relaxing.
are the PC version still bugged?? Since the lauching? No patchs released yet to fix this optimization issues?
I heard that there will be a big patch coming out for all platforms soon
@@InvalidUser_ i'll believe it when i see it.
I would say I prefer original sound of Fallen Orders lightsaber, but everything else sounds better in survivor.
He is using a different blade colour for each clip (blue in the first game, magenta/pink in the second one) the different have different sounds and the pink has one of the highest pitch scratchy sounds of all of the blades
In xbox and ps5, there are problems with the implementation of hdr, I suppose in pc will be the same.
just finished fallen order and i really wanna buy survivor right now but have to wait a few days for money to come in. but i'll survive ;)
dude faller order is nothing in front of survivor the force powers are crazy in survivor, i never replay a game once i finish it but jedi survivor is the only exception, this video didnt even mention all the combat differences theres a massive difference in combat, survivor is way ahead of fallen order, in fact you can combine different force powers l
that trooper at 7:39 was having none of that, thank you
Awesome Video, btw theres no such thing as a "Lead Protagonist" cuz a protagonist is already a "lead" person, as far as i know. What CPU do you run to play that game on that resolution with that settings while capturing next to the 4090?
Level Environments is big difference, like small area without details vs big with details
Been trying to not watch anything leading up to Friday because I know im playing it either way... but man this just bumped me up to a half chubber 😂
Idk if its the same in Fallen Order, but in Survivor, the color of the saber slightly changes the sound that the saber makes which is a neat feature
12:00 what are you talking about. Fallen Order had way more and better looking particles. I barely notice any in Jedi Survivor
I’ve just watched this and now when I play the game when it comes out I feel like the shin will have been taken off of it, I know so much about the game (stances, customisation) I’m not saying it’s this channel alone, even the developers gave away so much, I know the game needs to be advertised and marketed but stop giving so much away! Excite us, not bombard us. Rant done
There's plenty that I did not share. These are just the fundamental basics of the game itself. Most gamers haven't even played Fallen Order and want to know what this game actually is.
@@Nick930 Fair point, I guess the whole story premise isn’t told and plenty more like skill trees and equipment!
Bro you chose to watch a direct comparison video, what are you expecting?
Thank you Nick !! Good comparison as always !! :)
PS5 and Series X have ray tracing as well, though locked to 30fps. In the original release both options had rey tracing weirdly, causing dips in performance mode, but after updates performance drops ray tracing and is a buttery smooth 60fps all the way through.
18:45 this alone should make cal a jedi master god damn 😳
3:59 Merrin the only new model i kinda dont like ... such a weird change and she looks more "dead" than she did in the first game. Like the overall less makeup makes the grey skinton not standing out that much as before imo
16:22 each crystal has a different sound so comparing blue to purple wasn’t much help
For the lightsaber noise you should have chosen a blue one as well, in survivor you can hear how different they sound when unsheathed
Nick, your unbiased review of this stellar addition to the ever expanding Star Wars universe was spot on…I enjoy how truthful you are without being to harsh or to lenient while reviewing games…I will def be subscribing to your channel. May the Force be with you….Always.
2:53 well... I can se a lot of fiferent scratches and diferent texture despite of the same paint scheme.
Another great comparison video for another PC game that we wont be able to play properly until he GOTY edition. Maybe not even then.
FSR not working = CPU limitations
Crashing when using RT= VRam limitations
I’m getting to the age where they need to put numerical numbers behind these games so I know which one came first and which game is the latest
I've never played fallen order.. should I play it first or can go directly to survivor and have good fun?
That's a hard one it's on sale for 10 bucks wait for sale and definitely get it worth it for the star wars vibes
You did a good job at making this video liked and subscribed
I'm tempted by Ray tracing Jedy Survivor, and later I'll try playing Jedy Falen on the PS4 console. I've never finished any Star Wars game before, but Star Wars Jedy, all the visual aspects look good.🙂
Survivor is my favorite Star Wars game ever!! Gonna be super hard to beat! Looking forward to the third game 😄
Glad to see Dave chapelle in this game
😂
You missed ilum for the level environment section
Hope for Dead island 2 vs ead island 1 or Dying light 2 comparison video D
I found it odd they removed or just never added slow motion objects like the fans n platforms cal used slow on in fallen. Out of all the things you did to traverse the environment i felt the slow motion was unique and simple enough it didn't take up lots of time. Idk seemed like something that looked good that wasn't hard to implement but maybe they are
From the previous one I missed the cool cinematics and flashbacks when learning a new ability. Survivor didn't focus on that, it's like they just added a new ability to Cal with no context.
he didn’t learn how to do all the new things when he was little, what memories would he have to go back on
Exactly what the guy above me said, why is this a complaint
