Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
I enjoyed this video immensely! You kinda see old wheels like that just stacked up to rot and to see how it’s possible to restore them to brand new is inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful job. Turned out great. Helpful. And THANK YOU for not putting electronic dance music on while you showed your repair (like the 7 million other wheel repair videos on youtube.)
When first setting the bead of a tire always let the air all the way back out before filling it to the proper PSI. It lets everything settle and helps a great deal with balancing the tire.
Justin Fisher what? Letting air out then airing back up has nothing to do with letting the tire settle. Your federal courgias always balance like shit and your mastercraft are the best at balancing. It just depends on the tire and where the heavy spots are on the wheel. If you get cheap shit tires then they’ll balance like shit, I’ve had them before, they were amp tires.
I do not like this, I LOVE this. Base on how and what you used to do it, its obvious that you are an experienced professional. The time and resources that you spent on this could easily worth a full set of four new ones, or more. The fact that you did this shows how much you appreciate your material, your job and you must be really proud of the result. For that, i salute you.
Excellent excellent work. Love the fact you're restoring and reusing. If it were me because I don't have a shop, I'd just buy a new set. I'll send your my old rusted steelies.
outstanding! quick tip to make old tires look like new: mix 50/50 dawn dish soap and water, wipe it on the tire with a cloth and let it dry, repeat, then rinse and dry with a dry cloth
Me: No way I'm gonna watch a tire restoration. Also me: Can't believe I just watched a tire restoration and enjoyed it. :) Great job as always, even if it was just a "tired wore out rim". :)
Да это настоящий пиздец. Даже у нас в быдлорашке можно купить зассаный штамп за 40 рубасов (20$), чем ебаться с 1 (одним!!!) штампом столько времени, а ведь ещё 3 впереди)))
Great video......I'm probably going to just go the rustoleum route with mine....it rides under the bed of my truck and gets subjected to salt spray from the crap our DOT puts on the roads in the wintertime. If I were restoring a classic car- THIS would be the method I'd use, lol.
Nicely done as usual. Step One: Get Tire Machine or take it to a shop to get the tire dismounted/mounted. So no balancer then? Look forward to the next project. Complex sounds good..still hoping for a Full Body Off Car/Truck Restoration or maybe an ex-military prop aircraft! :-) Cheers!
Funny you are showing a restoration of a tire rim. I just had to do four of mine. Mine were a bit more.difficult because there is a pressed in chrome trim and I could not take it off. Thanks for sharing. Nice job.
Красота! И результат и процесс. Шедевр просто. На машину поставят, а диск восьмеркой. Во досады то будет. Вы б чё доброе восстановили. А то поди выкрасили и выбросили.

@@RRCRestoration Brilliant! I've got a set of scabby alloys that need a refurb but my local place want £80/corner. I fancy having a go myself, need some inspiration! :)

The sounds were really helpful. You could tell when he put the wheel on the table, because you could hear it. Nice use of sound! So glad you didn't ruin all the bonks and clicks by trying to SAY WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
That is a lovely job, you don't say what grit the wet & dry is not what's in the 3rd tin, I'm assuming it's paint thinners &?. Only thought I had was to put a little lube on the valve before fitting as I think it would help seat easier.👏👏
Say for instance you had aluminum wheels, and you wanted them painted all black like this, except the outer ring you were to polish very well. -- Could you paint a clearcoat over that polished part to protect them?
That was BRILLIANT!! I enjoyed every second of that process. Alas, I've not got a fully equipped workshop like you but, this just proves how something beautiful can be made from something ugly. Great job! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I run the car maintenance TH-cam channel in Korea. I'm always learning such a great ideas on your channel. I hope we have a chance to be together. Thank you.
Hi, No no damage is done to the rim as no part touches the wheel except the clamps that hold it in place and they have rubber pads on them so no damage can be done.
@@RRCRestoration Oh nice, so it is safe. I was planing to do the entire rim but i was wondering if that clamp will ruin the paint on the edges. Thanks for the info bro!
Hi,You can reuse the sand lots of times before it breaks down and just becomes a fine powder rather than an abrasive at this stage you need to swap it out for fresh abrasive. A 25KG bag of abrasive will last me easily 3 or 4 months depending on the severity of the blasting im doing.
A REAL PRO'S VIDEO!!! Not able to remove tire. Will have to do with tire still on car. What is a good mixture or product to clean rust and paint off wheel w/o hurting rubber? Also, what is the primer mixture you used? Can you advise the best way to clean and paint while wheel is still on car? Would appreciate greatly.

It’s not hard to do the same exact thing this person did with a wire brush sand paper wire wheel and 20 bucks in spray paint
If that wheel had feelings it would probably be crying out of joy right now😀
Goddddddd😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
or screaming of unbearable pain while being sandblasted and sprayed with etchant
Fantastic . My patience would crack at the very beginning . Well done
Awesome job can’t believe it’s the same wheel

Say for instance you had aluminum wheels, and you wanted them painted all black like this, except the outer ring you were to polish very well. -- Could you paint a clearcoat over that polished part to protect them?
Hi,Yep you certainly can just be sure to clear coat the edges well to help prevent the clear coat peeling.
@@RRCRestoration I would say polish the outer part , tape it all off, and then paint the rest black. Then untape and clearcoat it all at once?

He Struggles to get a spare tire
but i got a watermelon tire to keep me on the road!
Is there any product to avoid corrosion on a new one? What do you recommend for take care of them
What was the purpose of putting on the filler? It could have just been sanded. Some of the filler got into the gab and then it looked inconsistent.
Devi's advocate question here but would new rims be far cheaper once you consider all the time and effort?
Some people have the time but not the money. I respect videos like this. But you’re right.
the purpose of the video isn’t to save time or money it’s entertainment
Sometimes wheels are hard to find or unavailable.
Some cars you can’t find wheels for
Does the machine that puts the tire on damage the rim? Does it have any contact with the rim while it is turning?
Hi, No no damage is done to the rim as no part touches the wheel except the clamps that hold it in place and they have rubber pads on them so no damage can be done.
@@RRCRestoration Oh nice, so it is safe. I was planing to do the entire rim but i was wondering if that clamp will ruin the paint on the edges. Thanks for the info bro!
Is it better to Spray Pain or Powder Coat? Or does it depend on the item/ finish you want? Lovely job as always
powder coat is tougher, but, 2 pack is pretty tough too, perhaps more colour choice though
That's all good and well when one has that kind of equipment but if one like me doesn't any easier way of restoring wheel rim??
Well done. But for what exactly you need only one wheel?
As a spare wheel.
Can you reuse the sand in the sandblaster or is it one use only? How much do you go through in a single pass?
Hi,You can reuse the sand lots of times before it breaks down and just becomes a fine powder rather than an abrasive at this stage you need to swap it out for fresh abrasive. A 25KG bag of abrasive will last me easily 3 or 4 months depending on the severity of the blasting im doing.
