  • I've made an Airless Tire like Michelin UPTIS, using windshield sealant
    • I've made an Airless ...
After Michelin revealed the Demonstration of this new Airless Wheel Technology, I made my own Airless tire.
In my first attempt to make a car tire out of silicone, I used 40 cartridges of acrylic sealant, and the experiment failed :))
In the second attempt, I used a windshield sealant, one cartridge cost 9.99$, and I've used 43.
If you wonder why I did this, the answer is just for fun.
In the first attempt to make a tire, I put the Acryl on the rim in 2 hours.
In the second attempt, I put just 2 cartridges a day it took 20 days to put the silicon on the rim and another one month to let it dry.

An idea similar to this might be good for spare tires. So you don't have to worry about checking the air pressure in the spare and then if you forget to check it, you aren't surprised the spare is flat when you need it most.

C’mon man, he knocked it up using ‘black acrylic’ I have just seen the Michelin test, now if you were to do a more precise job using a more measured approach, then this could seriously work, for someone, just ‘having a go’ I am amazed, as far as the comments of it not being round enough, just think of the increased contact patch. Get a tread pattern bonded to it and you have a winner I am massively impressed by this even working. I mean a burnout and it didn’t fly apart!

9:25 wow, really impressive, got yourself a winner here; that airless tyre sprung up like a real air one. Maybe an idea to design a 3D printing program for this to save yourself time if you'd ever go big market with this one. I'd say, somehow stick a tyre tread around it, that'll take care about your wear and your dealings with wet conditions and whatnot.
In the future also off road tyres like these available??

Sika 221 is a moisture cure urethane product. Urethane under the top layer may not be exposed to enough moisture to start the cure or the humidity in your work area may be too low. Urethane not sufficiently exposed to moisture will not cure and you will have gooshy, squishy pockets or layers with no strength and will separate from flexing and heat. (A tire would peel apart as it rolled down the road.)When applying several layers you will need to mist the air around it with hot water or have a vaporizer providing additional moisture. Don't spray water onto the urethane as that will cure the urethane un-evenly creating a skin which will inhibit cure. Add moisture to the air only. The work area has to be warm enough to keep the humidity high or it will just settle out like morning dew. I am going to build some off-road tires for my 4X4 after seeing this but I will build a fixture which will keep them slowly rotating as they cure.

Use it as a spare tyre, cuz at least you don't have to remember to inflate it like most of us forget to.

Your idea is amazing but you need something to protect the last layer like a normal rubber tire
