Today I’ll be setting up 2 key fobs to my 99 ford ranger. I got these off amazon for about 15$ and it’s very easy to do. I hope you like the video and hit that like button!

For anyone having trouble getting into program mode, this is what worked for me. I came across this fix on the Ford forum: I tried the windshield wipers on and it did the trick. I simply opened the driver door, unlocked the rest with the button, left the door open, turned the windshield wipers to the first setting, cycled ignition 8x and it went right into programming mode, allowing me to program both my new remote and my old one. Hope that helps someone!
i have a 2008 ford ranger and it does not have any buttons to unlock the doors, it’s simply manual key, how would i go about that. I have tried the video and your comment
Thank you!!! This windshield wiper tip worked for me! I have a 2010 Ford Ranger XLT and it immediately went into programming mode after following the steps above and I was able to reprogram my old key fob. Thanks so much.
For 2005 ford focus, you only have to turn the key four times. However, your car has to be unlocked and you have to fasten your seatbelt and NOT push the brakes. In the first 10 seconds, you push buttons on each fob that you want to work with your car, and in the 8 seconds after that you push buttons on each fob again to program them. SEATBELT ON BRAKE OFF basically. oh, and you do have to program all of your fobs at once (I think). my first fob stopped working after I programed the second one, and I had to do it all again with both fobs.
Fob Worked just like this until I turn the ignition off. Then no longer works. Is there an unswitched power fuse to the module perhaps? Edit: fixed. disconnect battery for 30 seconds after programming and fobs work now.
I have ford ranger 2009, bought the right key fod from amazon, issue is I can turn my truck to the program mode, no lock/unlock cycle when 8 times on/off stop at 8. Tried to research many times/ videos/ instruction, ..... but cant make it turn to the mode to hit button on the key fod. Any idea. Im not sure we need to use the original key from ford or not? But I have 2 spare key at the moment. No orginal key from factory. But read and tried many ways they did not mention about have to use the factory key to program. Stuck here. I was so exited when I know that we can program but now kind of stuck. Thanks for any comment to give me more ideas to try
Same here! I have a ford mustang same year as my ranger and it worked just as instructed. Not sure why my ranger isn’t locking after the 8th turn. Tried the door and windshield wiper trick but nothing. Help!
Will the Ranger still start if I have a NEW key cut as well? I lost one of my keys and FOB for my 2001 Ranger and I need to get another for a spare. . Thank you.
You have to have 2 working chip keys in order to program additional chip keys. If you only have one working chip key you'll need a locksmith to make #2.
Without power locks there’s no way to hookup a remote this way. There’s no motor to trigger. There are aftermarket kits you can buy which iv installed. Work quite well
Are you allowed to have more than one fob programmed. I have two fobs and when I program one it kills the other one. I tried moving the programmed fob way the hell away from the vehicle when I programmed #2 fob, but it still killed #1 fob. Maybe the vehicle generates a unique code each time??
2011 ranger gets into programming mode and reads remote fine but when I turn off vehicle the locks cycle, but remote doesn’t work when i test it. Does anybody know any fixes to this?
@@monkeynuts456456 I had the same problem and finally fixed it. 1) When you enter the truck, leave the driver's door open (ensure all other doors are closed). 2) With the driver's door open, press the unlock button on the driver's door. 3) NOW follow the instructions from the video. Note: make sure you flip the ignition switch 8 times within 10 seconds and leave it on RUN on the 8th.

For 2002 mazda b3000..didn’t work until I read a comment that mentioned windshield wiper on; I also open the driver side door. Works now!

I’ve got a 97 ford ranger stx, 4.0 w/ 5 speed 4x4 and it has 2 fobs connected

It worked great. But when I got out of the truck standing close to it it wouldn't work. Oh I have new battery. 2011 Ford ranger.

Depends on the model. But most fords have the same process just different amount of key turns.
I've done that and only driver side door works.
Even when you double click the unlock? If so then there’s something wrong with the actuator

If you followed the procedure and it didn’t work. You do not have factory keyless entry. Or the remote doesn’t work.
Would this work with no power locks starting out with?
