    I appreciate the very valuable information and the time and effort you took to make this video. I wasn't able to get through the first ten minutes before i got too frustrated with off topic content that didn't relate to the actual brake job. I know a lot of people like me are out there that are short on time, and perhaps in a rush even to actually get the job done. I just wanted to point that out, that straying off topic might frustrate some of your followers. It's completely your channel and you should make your videos exactly how you want to make them, so take my comments with a grain of salt. Thanks for your time and effort again. I appreciate you going out of your way to even do this video.

    Awesome repair on your wife brakes. That lube is for the sliders pins that your caliper slides on. Sure saves a lot of $$ to do it yourself. Keep up the fantastic work bro!

    Henry, I did front brakes on my dads truck that he drives in the winter, and it went from a 30-40 minute job to an 8 hour job!!!! New England rust really sucks. Luckily that car isn’t bad. Keep the salt off of them!!!!!

    Good job Henry! I have a 2014 Chevy Impala. Front struts needed replacing. My mechanic estimated $757.00 for parts and labor. I got my own struts from Rock Auto for almost $300.00 less than what my mechanic's NAPA parts store wanted; so all told, cost to replace struts was $400.00 instead of $750.00. Moral?? Price the parts around. Of course my mechanic doesn't mind the customer getting his own parts. Oh, the struts I got were the exact same as what NAPA would have provided. I used to do my own labor; too old now!!

    I've done a drive way sealing, 5, 5 gal buckets, the drive way was longer and wider then yours, I would say 3 5 gallon buckets, and make sure it's leaf free, take your time, start it early in the morning so the afternoon sun can be can bake it good, and use the empty buckets to block the drive way, and make sure the mailman knows its wet.... LMAO..... It's very easy, start with the edges, and work towards the center, and then down towards the street..... Best advice, get the sealer spreader makes life so much easier, and most of all.... "TAKE YOUR TIME".

    Honestly I was doing my driveway myself. I spent 200 on just the paint, and it did not come out too good. Make sure to get at least 2 asphalt brushes. They ware out easily.

    Surprised you’d do pads without rotors as they looked rusty and grooved, not the right way but you got the job done, thanks for the video

    • @MowersNBlowers
      @MowersNBlowers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Rotors were not grooved and within original specs. Changing pads does not equate mandatory rotor replacement, that’s just what’s recommended by every stealership wanting to maximize profits

      @@timhiller1029 we get our emission and safety inspection at the Mercedes dealer every year, it was them who recommended we change brake pads but rotors were still under spec.

    Can you use the old brake sensor again for the new pads?

    • @MowersNBlowers
      @MowersNBlowers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only if you’re careful. You try using the old one, but if you get a warning light on your dash, you need to get a new one. You usually damage the old one when removing

    Bro next time grease your pins on the calibur so they slide even that's what causes the beak pads to wear uneven this is why one of your pads is thinner it was stuck and wearing prematurely

    Ahh down south where I am there are no inspections except emissions if you live in certain counties. And if it’s > 25 years old not even emissions.
    I have always wanted to do my own breaks but haven’t. Maybe this will inspire me. 👍
    My next thing I might try is installing a shift solenoids block into a non CVT Jatco/Nissan automatic transmission.
    Ahh not sure about the dog
    My Boston Terrier/ Dachshund/poodle is kind of hyper also and it’s a “she.” Not a “it” yet
    Let’s see if boba chills afterwards
    Hope all goes well.

    Buy Boba neuticals fake balls. They cost like $75 bucks but then when he runs it sounds like the old toy Clackers ! Like everyone else said you put the grease on the unthreaded part of the caliper bolt so the caliper slides freely when hitting the brakes and releasing. The one pad that was wore out was probably dry and not fully retracting and was dragging..

    FyI. You MUST replace rotors or turn them. They break in together. It can glaze your pads. This can cause unpredictable brake failure/fade. Did it once, never again...
