Just like scraping your board. Even though it’s a crappy job and it can take a while, you just need to breathe and take your time. And when you’re done you’ll feel soooo relieved!
Thats mainly for scraping the board. Any dimples in the base from over tightening the screws are 9 times out of 10 still going to be there slightly when you take the bindings off and you will still have to scrape into them with the corner of your scraper. So technically yes it will be a little easier to scrape but I personally don't think its worth the extra trouble. Up to you though.
@@PeterGlennSports Thanks for the info. Maybe do a tuning vid next. A lot of people including myself unclear on edge tuning. Considering some people only do the side edge and not the base edge.
@@PeterGlennSportsAfter waxing 20 snowboards and 10 sets of skis.. I literally crayon on wax, iron it in and flat base the first groomed red run commuting to the main gondola.. Lazy on my own set up. But it gets a real deep service twice a month.
It seems to be faster to heat up the bar and then rub it than just to drip it. It also seems to spread it much more even. After that of course use the iron. Is that a good method?
What can I do when the wax is not really sticking on my base on my Capita Super DOA 2022 even when I use the correct temperature for the wax and so on? Its just after 1-2 Ski days the wax is falling out of the base in little chunks.
you could try using base cleaner or even isopropyl alcohol to fully remove old dirt or residue. Make sure the base is not too hot either as that can affect the absorption of the wax
HAHA, so random. I just saw that like 2 hours ago, I'm super skeptical about how effective it really is. We have a video going live on the 31st about "easy wax methods" that are still not as good as a hot wax, but good to use when theres a time constraint. I basically do the exact same thing in that video with a $50 wax iron instead of a $250 IR machine. 😆🤷♂

Some people strongly recommend to loosen/remove bindings to make the job easier and avoid dimples from the screws in the base while hot waxing.

@@sweetj16real Don't worry my friend, weve got lots more vids coming! Theres a "de-tune" video coming tomorrow and a "tune" video in the near future!
I learned so much! Great video, thank you! 🤗
Happy to teach!
I don’t have the brush , is it ok ? My final step would be the scraper since I don’t have the brush and I’m going riding tomorrow.
Yeah, you’ll be good. The buffing is a good thing to do but not a must. Having the board completely scraped it more important 👍

Im kind of afraid to hot wax my go to board but i might gove it a whirl on my old beginner board 😂
Not a bad idea to start quite honestly. You'll find if you follow all the tips in this video that it really isn't too hard. Good Luck!
Can you damage your base by scraping with too much pressure on the straight edge of the scraper?
I suppose you could but you would have to be putting an unusual amount of pressure on the base. It doesn’t take much to scrape the wax

Depending on the heat it could be, but the time you save is minimal so up to you 👍

Me doin this shit in my carpeted living room with a tarp covering it 😆
LOL
Isn’t it just better to take the bindings off completely?
It doesn’t matter. Only reason to do it is if you don’t have a tall enough workspace for your bindings when you flip it upside down
I remove my bindings first so I don’t get base dimples over time.
Definitely not a bad idea!
Unscrew by a few turns. No need to remove or lose angle set ups..
