Man I had feeling stuff like this would happen. Werewolf was gonna be the game that would clash with itself the most. Which more annoyed cause the give vampire way more grace for similar subjects.
So I am playing the demo and I got to the scene that was odd. Illona being Silver Fang and getting leadership rather quickly. I thought at first she was be diplomatic(I'm black I have to take a slight or two to get stuff done). Then Andrew(I'm using what I assumed it would be in English) is a Shadow Lord just causing a big ass scene. Which just seemed out of character for the Tribe. They should have been staring daggers the whole time he was just attacking the leadership with not tact. Illona should have done something to him, unless she has some big plan or being super diplomatic. But even raising her voice and making sure Andrew understood this is her sept and you will respect her, with the decisions she makes.
@@yellowbelt I think they're trying to portray Illona as someone who is trying to be a wise Alpha aka not jumping to conclusions before she gets all the facts as she doesn't want to jeopardize the Sept's safety by rushing into a situation recklessly due to not having all of the information but she has the confidence and courage to put her foot down and make it clear she's the Silver Fang who is the Sept Alpha and her word is the law of the Sept making it clear either verbally or non-verbally that she's the Alpha not Andrew.
And speaking of how Andrew acting they're definitely portraying him in my opinion as a typical egotistical and possibly racist yet still cunning rich-boy Shadow Lord who in typical arrogant Shadow Lord fashion automatically uses the death of a Sept Member as an excuse to go after what he perceives in his mind to be a threat to the Sept that being the Afghan refugees despite knowing very well that Samira is one of those Afghan refugees and makes it clear via non-verbal means that he doesn't like Samira simply because she's a Afghan refugee and him challenging Illona's authority and get the other Garou sans Samira, and her pack leader Alexanzdrea to question Illona's leadership is basically him being the typical Shadow Lord aka challenging the Silver Fang Alpha who leads the Sept simply because he perceives Illona's arguably wise actions as her being weak and not willing to do what is necessary for the Sept and challenging her authority in front of everyone in order to get allies who can help him oust Illona as the Sept Alpha and replace her with him only for him to seemingly back down when she reminds him in a gentle yet firm tone that she's the Alpha not him and she's made it clear she won't go rounding up Samira, her aunt, and the Afghan refugees and punish them for that one Sept Member's death due to there being absolutely no proof that the Afghan refugees were responsible and he'll have to deal with that call whether he likes it or not resulting in him seemingly backing down but still giving the look that shows he wants to be Sept Alpha and he'll do anything to get it.
Heck in the bar when you talk to Samira's pack leader the dual Polish/Korean descent Garou states that he's not surprised that Andrew pulled this stunt as in his eyes and depending on you want Samira to feel about him her eyes as well a "asshole" and that Andrew via attempting to challenge Illona's authority has now possibly divided the Sept into 2 camps one camp loyal to him and will help him try to seemingly oust Illona and have him replace her as the Sept Leader and one camp still loyal to Illona with Alexanzdrea declaring that he's still in the camp who is loyal to Illona and wants Samira's help in investigating Andrew and his pack to see what they're up to and how big of a threat to Illona and possibly the other Garou in the Sept still loyal to her the Shadow Lord, his pack, and their allies within the Sept are.

@@yellowbelt Hence the reason why Alexanzdrea asked Samira to help him investigate Andrew and his pack as he suspects that Andrew along with being an asshole is trying to make a power-play and take the Sept leadership away from Illona and that by openly questioning her authority and decisions concerning the Afghan refugees situation, and the death of that one Sept member has now divided the Sept into 2 camps a camp loyal to Andrew and a camp that remains loyal to Illona and that the Sept being divided into these 2 separate camps is going to cause problems that aren't needed giving everything that's now going on.
And as a Garou in the camp that is still loyal to Illona Alexanzdrea wants to figure out how big of a threat that Andrew his pack, and the camp within the Sept loyal to them is to Illona, the Garou still loyal to her, and to Samira, her aunt, and the other Afghan refugees and if there's a way to ensure that they don't succeed in ousting Illona and having Andrew replace her in order to hopefully prevent a civil war within the Sept itself and he wants Samira to help get the info he's trying to find that way if Andrew is plotting a coup against Illona it can be stopped before it can be put into motion.

I don't personally mind things like racism etc being used in a game's narrative, as long as:
1.) It makes sense in the lore for it to be there.
2.) It is used as an obstacle to be overcome as the narrative progresses.
The inherent racism between the various races in Skyrim I thought was brilliant. The Nords always underestimating you because you're playing an elf, etc.
These are hard real life issues, and should be addressed in the sense that it should be shown how to overcome them, instead of just skirting the issue entirely, imo.
Which is unrealistic.
Just got finished playing the demo and I love it. I am very excited for this game.
I am more concerned with the fact is going video novel instead of RPG
