Really makes you feel for Angron. Even with all that rage and power, still impotent and sad in the end. A rage so thirsty yet futile, it drinks up any other emotion. Not allowed true rest or even the ability to grieve naturally.
Angorn saw his Father the Emperor as the worst tyrant and worst abuser, but I believe he realized that the Blood God is worst compared to him and there is no doubt that he was going to be forever hated to fated to kill with no end.
My God Emperor, I felt so many emotions. Angron's original power was empathy and the ability bleed the pain and anguish from another and take it as his own. This work made me feel that heavy sadness and desperation knowing that this is only 30 mins long. The vox's nails demands more! MORE!!!!!
I love the reference to Marcus Aurelius and his line about not being like your enemy. It really cements the theme and culture as an advanced Roman Empire.
The writing is top notch and I love how it goes into Angrons motivation. How every time he even considers an emphatic response he gets pain. How would he have given word to what he truly wants and feels? If it was not filtered via the nails. Kharn, are you deaf and blind to my words and deeds? Do you not grasp it's your willingness to submit to a tyrant like myself that causes this divide. How it burdens me to know that it is of me not the nails that you would gladly enslave yourself to try and reach the heart of a monster. When I force you and your brothers over and over again into a situation where you can clearly see my actions have no merit. That it is driven solely by violence. How I myself was driven to kill for the entertainment of others. What drove me to finally rise up against the tyrants for freedom was the damned nails. That without these nails I would be like you. A dog that would gladly kill the innocent to please its master. That no matter how kicked or burned. Would always whimper and return to his master and beg for his approval. Even as it gets kicked away again. Hoping for love. That the day that brought me so much joy and happiness even in the face of death was thanks to these nails. These nails are merely a second collar placed on me. A collar that eroded the first. That drowned out the need to always search for hope and reason. Hope gives no rest no end. Hope will keep you in chains. Death is the only answer the nails allow me to reach. How I wish you slaves made in my image. Would finally free this slave. That we all may be free of all masters. That you can prove to your miserable father that he is not doomed to be a slave. That inside me, there is a free man, not guided by the nails, a man that would overthrow all tyrants. A man that would die a Liberator...
I LOVE Angron! He’s so noble in character and absolutely despises authority and subservience. The tragedy of him becoming that which he despises is such an ageless tale.
"You merely adopted the blood and the rage. I was born in the blood, molded by it. Tempered by the fires of battle and the heat of my own unquenchable hatred. Come brothers..... let me show you true RAAAGE!!!"
I love how visceral this one is. It doesn’t hold back with the disgustingly violent language just to emphasise how horrific Angron’s story is and I adore it.
I felt every emotion expressed in this lore. I must admit you are one the few content creators that know how to humanize Angron and show us how broken and abandoned he truly is.
@@Bgh583 Nope, in the Lore before Angron got the butcher's nails he was helping the other gladiators with his powers, meaning Angron was supposed to be tankly healer.
Watched this a few more times. What I really like is how the Space Marines don't sound like normal humans. They actually sound like they have extra organs like lungs and super strong vocal cords etc..
They were always described as having much deeper voices than humans. I've always gone for that approach with my productions. Thankyou for the kind words!
First time learnong about Angron. I feel bad for him, he was indeed denied a lot from the Emperor , including this massive responsibility. Well voiced and well written. Thank you.
This was an excellent tale of the red angel. I only think of him raging and angry at the universe. But this reminded me of the many facets of anger. The seething, self loathing, frustration, hostility and even fear. The narrator, a Vox in the Void, takes the work of Stephen Duxbury and really brings it into reality. He does such an amazing job really conveying the emotion and bringing that grim dark feeling to everyone's voice and atmosphere. You can hear each inflection of subtle emotion as the primarch speaks. The frustration in Angron as he battles his own emotions as palpable. The hint of sadness and undying loyalty in Kharn's voice as he opens up to his father. The sounds of Epidemic really make me feel like I am there, amplifying emotions and situations to levels that keep my brain attached to the story. Thanks to all of you who worked on this. It was a pleasure to listen to.
>world eaters video >it’s not just incomprehensible screaming and chainaxe noises Literally unlistenable, 0/10 Just playing Vox, absolutely incredible. I’m gonna need a new one by tomorrow though, got a serious addiction to feed
Angron, to me at least, always had the most compelling back story. The eldar attack, getting enslaved, the butcher's nails. Also i believe that BIG E didn't save his life but ruined his death. Such a sad story
At least Kharn decided _not_ to show Angron the charcoal and blood drawing he made after the battle, a sketch of the Primarch and Kharn slaying and smashing alongside one another, axes held aloft and identical lunatic grins on their faces. With the words 'Father and Me, kickin Highrider Azz!' scribbled near the bottom.... It wasn't Kharn's first wise judgment call... it wasn't to be his last...
"You think this abstract visceral smear is worthy to be put on the this ships Fridge?! My brothers and sisters stomachs rotted from within while they dreamed at the Mere SIGHT of a fridge and it's promise of sustenance, and you would have me obscure it with drivel scribblings?! Have the servitors plunge it in the furnace!!!"
Simply terrific. Great reading, and great story overall. Really like the stories that explore Angron's character rather than show his rage. Still stands by my decision that we got enough of agron in the last years to last more than enough. We need the noise!!!!!! The music of pleasure! The silence offends slaanesh!
The really sad part is is that angron was supposed to be the healer of all the brothers. He was supposed to take their spiritual pain away. . . !!!!!!!!! A VOX IN THE VOID !!!!!!!!
Fuck.... i actually shed a tear at the end. That's actually depressing. Feel bad for Kharn and kinda just wish that emps didnt just teleport Angron. Maybe then things could've bean different. Damn this just makes me sad. I loved it
All Angrond needed was for one of his battle brothers to come to his room like _"WE SAVED YOU A PIECE OF THE CAKE, BROTHER! THE CORNER PART WITH THE ICING, JUST AS YOU LIKE IT."_
From all the lore I've read/listened to concerning Angron, i feel like he was destined to be one of the greatest Primarchs, instead he ended up being completely tragic
Unmatched in quality by all others. The atmosphere and sound effects are spot on. Truly no greater time to engage in 40k lore than right now. Especially as world eaters fan!
I'm just adding a comment because this platform puts more weight on "engagement" actions rather than watch time and likes. I love this channel, the production work is incredible and the acting/writing is so good
I'm so glad more authors are tackling primarchs on this channel and I hope the trend continues. I really liked seeing more glimpses of a pre-Nails Kharn; primarch/Astartes interactions are some of my favorite 40k fluff. And Angron being unable to weep, or property feel any other emotion then rage, when he was meant to be the empath of the bunch, is just heart-rending. Excellent story and an excellent narration Vox
Angron truly was the weakest and most human of the Primarchs, because unlike all his brothers he was made a slave by mortal men, a demigod bound in chains and made to slaughter for their enjoyment. A fate he never managed to escape, only merely passing from one master's hand to the next, from some long forgotten planetary lord, to fickle hope, then the Emperor, and finally onto Khorne.
I have to admit, I used to hate Angron and the World Eaters; but then I read Betrayer and Slaves to Nuceria and now they are my favorite legion. This story perfectly sums up Angrons existence and how he feels about his “sons”: they are the living, breathing reminders of his fate and the embodiment of everything he learned to despise as a slave on Nuceria.
Anrgon might be my favorite Primarch, simply because his betrayal might be the most justified. He feels nothing but pain, all day, everyday, and infinite ache of pain that ranges from a full ache to a blazing pain that’s only ever slated by murder. Even in sleep he gets not respite from the pain, bombarded with the memories of the men and women he couldn’t save. I often of could have been If the emperor had been more compassionate that day, if he had fought with his son instead of stealing him away and letting his warriors die, how different the lord of the red sands could have been.
Should've just ended himself, the emperor didn't wrong him a lot it was the cowardly High Riders that cut out piece of his brain to install the butcher's nails. The Nails turned Angron and his world eaters into blood and death junkies. They're literally chasing a dopamine high 24/7 to stop the pain by killing.
Vox Incredible Absolutely Incredible You have such a truly unique way of bring life to these characters, I could feel Angron anguished, you have done something truly unique never in a thousand years would I think I would become a World Eater fan but here we are. Between this and Cry Havoc I truly have a new appreciation for the World Eater Phenomenal job Vox, truly
You and a handful of others truly understand that "lore" in 40k is meant to be transformed as opposed to being distilled into temporal fleeting factoids. Another beautifully miserable piece, Vox! I was legitimately disgusted by how animated and alive everything felt, from that grim opening scene to poor unfortunate Onemaius and that stellar ending... Holy shit that ending, Poor Angron. ;(
@@algorithmgeneratedanimegir1286Angry because of the nails Angry because of the slavers Angry because the Emperor who he hated from the very beginning by denying him his death and his family so yes its pretty much anguish.
The Tragedy of Angron. His Brothers in their brave & doomed rebellion, then his Legionary Sons in their self destructive quest to be worthy of the father they had so long dreamt of, only for their devotion to be so completely dashed. Stories like this are where 40K rises to the level of literature.
Angron probably didn't mean for them to agree with implantation with the nails is my headcanon of this, they just were so desperate they took it literally
Reading this, just further reinforces how much Angron loathed himself and the position forced on him. I get the feeling that when he was sneaking to Kharn, he wanted him to yell no back to him, seeing that might have reminded Angron more of his fallen family.
I've seen so many opinions depicting angron as the "dumbest" primarch. Not that this takes away from the intellect or oratory skills of the others, but each primarch, angron included, is so well spoken and intelligent. God damn I love this series and all of warhammer 40k!
Stephen Duxbury is an amazing writer to put ot mildly. I would read anything He puts His name on. Excellent narration, & production as well. This is 40K at its best.
Thank you so much. I'm writing an essay statement and I'm actually using Warhammer 40K the butcher nails in comparison to circumcision in the United States. Both are meant to incite frustration, anger, and alter the child's mind as well as physically alter how something works.
Absolutely Incredible video. Great voice. If Lorgar didn't turn Angron into a demon and ruined his soul, i am quite sure emperor and malcador would've brought him back in a new body. They were going to bring back Ferrus after his death if they had time. Oh i hate Lorgar
I highly doubt it, the Emps already anticipated a civil war and expected some Primarchs to turn against him. If Chaos wasn't even involved he would've still wiped any traitor legions like he did the II and XI legions because it would've fit within his plan of phasing out the astartes after the great crusade.
Angron’s my favorite primarch; everyone dislikes him and says he’s not a good character but that’s completely wrong. He’s not even evil. Thanks for writing and voicing this
Another Vox narration that is just PERFECT. Making me love Angrons character more and more. Your ability to convey emotion with these stories is unparalleled. :D
“You kept that mule Kor Phaeron. Russ kept his kin-friends. The Lion kept Luther. Humans -- brothers and foster fathers -- saved and raised into Legion ranks. But not me. Not Angron, No. Did the Emperor deploy his gold-wrapped Custodes down to help me and my army? No. Did he free the War Hounds and order them to battle, fight alongside me? No. Did he save my brothers and sisters the way he spared and honoured the Lion's closest kin? The way he honoured Kor Phaeron? No, no and no. No mercy for Angron. Angron the Oathbreaker. Angron the Betrayer!” - Angron
I think the Emperor knew he'd lose sons to Chaos. He either couldn't save Angron from the nails or chose not to. In any case, he decided then to use Angron to be his butcher until it killed off Angron and his legion, or until he could be culled. He may or may not have known exactly which primarchs might fall, but Angron definitely seemed like one he could sacrifice.
Love it like always, you have such a gift. I wish that GW would write the world eaters like this. They suffer from too much rage, and not enough despair. As a veteran, I can relate a lot with that feeling. Combat, pain, suffering, etc. makes you not have to think about the reality of your decisions. The world eaters should have been treated like that. Yes the nails make them insanely good at fighting, but they don’t make them stupid. Most of the stuff that I read about them, has them reduced to blind rage. This was really good.
this is an AMAZING piece of writing and voice-acting, i fucking love your videos, they are great pieces of fiction and always elicit emotion. please keep it up and keep telling stories!
Kharn was the biggest simp at all. And Angron is a chad. We knew how this would end. Funnily enough, Kharn was the least like Angron. All bark and no bite where Angron is concerned. Truly a dog
when kharn was appointed as angron's advisor many of the world eaters disagreed with this choice. Kharn was extremely charismatic unlike his father but he was similar in all the other ways(especially in combat). Kharn's job was to offer opinions to angron and even disobey and disagree with his commands but he didn't do that. He was jealous of the other legions because he saw that their father loved his sons. Angron wanted to feel something but he felt nothing. Kharn wanted to feel something, Kharn wanted to love his father and wanted his father to love his sons. Kharn obeyed all commands HOPPING, BEGGING that angron would start carring. Angron and his relationship with his legion was extremely toxic and it wasn't his fault nor was it Kharn's fault. It was the nails fault and it was the emperor's fault. Kharn and angron were both victims.
Idk what people are on about when they say Angron made no sense. This is very simular to how I would react were I him. The primarch with his power makes his rebellious childhood abuse fueled mistakes on a galactic level. Very human.
My favorite moment of Angron is after Kharn receives the nails and kills the surgical team. Kharn shatters his own teeth by clenching his jaw too tight. Angron then finally came, greeted kharn as his son, and guided him out of the surgical bay. I always felt like in that moment Angron recognized his sons, but also realized the horror he inflicted upon them.
If any being truly cements that the Emperor was not divine, that he was either cruel or a fool, it is Angron. A Primarch - a *son* - left broken, an entire Legion of Space Marines sacrificed to pointless mutilation, to butchery, to soul-crushing degredation... and why? Because it was more expedient? Because the Emperor didn't care? Because the Emperor was too inhuman to look on this scarred, maimed, self-loathing wretch and feel even an inkling of compassion? Basilio Fo was right all along.
The Emperor did order Angron to stop installing the Butchers Nails into his Marines, but Angron ignored him. Beyond that though I have always wondered the same thing.

And as of recent lore, he will NEVER get the sweet release of death he so desperately craves.
@@randomcenturion7264 Unless he takes some primarch ex-lax........
(oh, not THAT kind of "release of death".... LoL)
I've been on an Angron binge recently and this is phenominal!
Angorn saw his Father the Emperor as the worst tyrant and worst abuser, but I believe he realized that the Blood God is worst compared to him and there is no doubt that he was going to be forever hated to fated to kill with no end.
Khorne did give Angron peace for a moment freed from the nails freed from his Anger
The anger and hate you portray is excellent my friend feels like the actual Angron masterful work sir!
I LOVE Angron! He’s so noble in character and absolutely despises authority and subservience. The tragedy of him becoming that which he despises is such an ageless tale.
He is not noble at all, he is a savage and a radical irrational rejection of authority is not a virtue nor is it wise

Angron was once made to heal people, Now look what he has become, I f****** hate the high riders 😢

This is Amazing, thank you yet again for more World Eater Narrations. Your voice is Perfect for them!
Your world eaters episode is always a great work of art
Truly appreciated! 🤘🤘
It was a pleasure to listen to.
>world eaters video
>it’s not just incomprehensible screaming and chainaxe noises
Literally unlistenable, 0/10
Just playing Vox, absolutely incredible. I’m gonna need a new one by tomorrow though, got a serious addiction to feed
Angron, to me at least, always had the most compelling back story. The eldar attack, getting enslaved, the butcher's nails. Also i believe that BIG E didn't save his life but ruined his death. Such a sad story
Also could have just helped him and his galdiator with the revolt disguising himself like did with many otber like vulkan leman mortarion
It wasn't big E, it was Lorgar who ruined his death.
Sounds like he's been spending too much time around the blood angels
"You think this abstract visceral smear is worthy to be put on the this ships Fridge?! My brothers and sisters stomachs rotted from within while they dreamed at the Mere SIGHT of a fridge and it's promise of sustenance, and you would have me obscure it with drivel scribblings?! Have the servitors plunge it in the furnace!!!"
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 yo that's so mean
Simply terrific. Great reading, and great story overall. Really like the stories that explore Angron's character rather than show his rage. Still stands by my decision that we got enough of agron in the last years to last more than enough. We need the noise!!!!!! The music of pleasure! The silence offends slaanesh!
It's coming soon my friend!
The really sad part is is that angron was supposed to be the healer of all the brothers. He was supposed to take their spiritual pain away. . .
!!!!!!!!! A VOX IN THE VOID !!!!!!!!
What a wonderful complimentary to "CRY HAVOC."
Gona have to re-listen that after this.
Fuck.... i actually shed a tear at the end.
Amazing as always!
Wouldn't be anything without your writing sir
I'm just adding a comment because this platform puts more weight on "engagement" actions rather than watch time and likes. I love this channel, the production work is incredible and the acting/writing is so good
Thankyou so much my friend. Really do appreciate any form of support 🙏
Wow, this makes one of the most simple primarchs so complex and interesting. Amazing work as always!
Vox
Incredible

You have such a truly unique way of bring life to these characters, I could feel Angron anguished, you have done something truly unique never in a thousand years would I think I would become a World Eater fan but here we are. Between this and Cry Havoc I truly have a new appreciation for the World Eater
Phenomenal job Vox, truly
You and a handful of others truly understand that "lore" in 40k is meant to be transformed as opposed to being distilled into temporal fleeting factoids.
Another beautifully miserable piece, Vox! I was legitimately disgusted by how animated and alive everything felt, from that grim opening scene to poor unfortunate Onemaius and that stellar ending...
Holy shit that ending, Poor Angron. ;(
Spectacular performance as always. You really managed to make the pain and hatred of a betrayed son feel real
My World Eater brethren, what a gift this must be! So much blood and rage! One of the best things I've ever listened to.

Angron is one of the most tragic and sad characters in all of 40K. Even this story makes me feel the depression that he lives in.
The Tragedy of Angron. His Brothers in their brave & doomed rebellion, then his Legionary Sons in their self destructive quest to be worthy of the father they had so long dreamt of, only for their devotion to be so completely dashed. Stories like this are where 40K rises to the level of literature.
This is the moment when angron put the nails to the legion
Angron probably didn't mean for them to agree with implantation with the nails is my headcanon of this, they just were so desperate they took it literally
Reading this, just further reinforces how much Angron loathed himself and the position forced on him. I get the feeling that when he was sneaking to Kharn, he wanted him to yell no back to him, seeing that might have reminded Angron more of his fallen family.
Good background music and sudden stops has you feel the change of mood, it combines well to set the feeling and unpredictable actions of the angry boy
I've seen so many opinions depicting angron as the "dumbest" primarch.
Not that this takes away from the intellect or oratory skills of the others, but each primarch, angron included, is so well spoken and intelligent.
God damn I love this series and all of warhammer 40k!
Excellent Video 👍. Angron is My Favorite Primarch by Far, a Tragic Character yet Spectacular Character.
I just want to experience the spectacular countdown 0:00
Stephen Duxbury is an amazing writer to put ot mildly. I would read anything He puts His name on. Excellent narration, & production as well. This is 40K at its best.
Well that’s was a truly splendid start to my long weekend
Glad you enjoyed it Connor!
Imagining Angron and Conrad as better versions of themselves, like an older Kratos and superpowered Batman we never got to see.
Truly a good story 😢 Angron Never to feel love or sadness, comradeship, but anger, hatred and self loathing for what he is damn good story 👍
Was here for the premiere, great stuff!!
Thanks for writing and voicing this
for voicing it and for Duxbury’s writing

Angron and Curze got the fuzzy end of the lollipop
orks and khornate berserkers :The only sigma rage enjoyers of the universe.
Angron the Betrayer!”
- Angron
I think the Emperor knew he'd lose sons to Chaos. He either couldn't save Angron from the nails or chose not to. In any case, he decided then to use Angron to be his butcher until it killed off Angron and his legion, or until he could be culled. He may or may not have known exactly which primarchs might fall, but Angron definitely seemed like one he could sacrifice.
Your narration is next level bro, well done keep it up!
Angron really is the most tragic Primarch in warhammer
Hot damn your back!!!!! Love your world eaters videos!!!
For someone who was supposed to be a healer with empathic abilities this was the cruelest faith of all.
I always felt like in that moment Angron recognized his sons, but also realized the horror he inflicted upon them.
no matter how strong your will or body is, trauma and abuse can twist anyone into a monster.
yep, a man who was meant to be a healer. turned into a frothing, raging beserker.
I love a vox in the void. It's a great place to find these little stories that aren't part of the main fiction.
Awesomeness. Was never a fan of the World Eaters until I listened to your related vids of them. Great work sir 👍🏻
Not only was he forced to kill his father, he was forced to enjoy it

The character Agron in Spartacus the show 2020-2014 was cool...that whole show is awesome.
