    By far the best Morrison Jeep Trail video on You Tube. You guys did a great job with this. You showed a lot lot of the upper section we have never seen in any other video, and pretty sure we have watched every one on You tube. It's been on our bucket list a long time just haven't made it there yet. Good job!

      Thank you very much for watching and for your comment. We also watched everything out there and wanted to include the "full" story. We also have another Morrison video coming out in a few days that is more geared toward those planning on going up the Morrison and want to see every switchback turn in detail. The next video will really only cover the switchbacks but cover them all... Every one, turn by turn. Thanks again.

      Awesome! Looking forward to the next video. We were there June 1st because we wanted to drive Beartooth right after it opened. Pulled into the highway 212 side of Morrison but the snow was way to deep to drive the trail. We will be back in Wyoming July 4th - 14th 2022 but that will probably be to early to drive it then too.

      @@coryziegenbein2337 Even if the snow is passible in early July, there are gates that keep you from entering. This year, the gates open on the 16th of July so you may just miss it. Dang!

    I used to live in Casper. Labor Day weekend of either 2010 or 2011 some of my Jeepin' buds & I did this trail. My bunghole still puckers watching your video. I did Black Bear Pass the same year. It don't measure up to Morrison. I guess I never have takin' to ledge roads. Thanks for the video. None of all the other videos of this trail that I have watched through the years, matches up to yours. Good job! HAHA - Sometimes we still pucker at the idea of driving it. Though Elgin and I did drive up and back down on November 18, 2021. I believe we were the last to drive that road because we came down at dark, no one else was on the road when we drove out, and a major snowstorm blanketed the area that night. And guess what? I filmed it! We haven't released that show. Maybe we should. Thanks for watching and leaving us a great comment!

      @@rexxanderson1016 Here's the story behind The Chatty One: The Wyoming Jeepers wanted to inspect the top of the Morrison Jeep Trail before attempting the drive. We went out on the opening day - July 16, 2021 - and greeted the first Jeep up the trail for the season. RORA (another TH-cam Jeeper) came up the hill while I recorded. He smiled when he saw us and said, "I know who you are! I just watched your show last night. You are the chatty one." Well, The Chatty One stuck. In the first shows, I did most of the talking. Everyone else has adjusted to having a camera pointed at them since then, and now they keep on talking. I do like the "riveting drama and danger" though. Haha - There's more to come. I honestly think Sunlight Basin is even more frightening than the Morrison because those rocks roll. - How's that for chatty? :-)

We had a lot of fun, and it didn't turn out to be the scariest road we ever drove on. The Sunlight Basin Volcano was the scariest, in my opinion. If you were planning to go this year, check with the Forest Service. The road sustained severe damage due to landslides and flooding and they were going to fix it this year but then more flooding destroyed major roads and bridges in the area and they have more pressing needs now.

    • @wyomingjeepers
      @wyomingjeepers  ปีที่แล้ว

      In late July or August, most of the mountain roads are open and available to travel. The Morrison was closed all summer last summer and we have no idea when it will be open again. However, the top portion of the Morrison should be open and it is is wonderful drive. The Sunlight Basin video we have out shows a very nice trail that is near Yellowstone. Last year it was closed due to the flooding but I would assume it should be open this year. Have fun with your trip!

    what mount do you use for the dash cam, seems like it has a gimbal

    • @wyomingjeepers
      @wyomingjeepers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The orange jeep has a BulletPoint mount, non gimbal. However, the newer iPhones have a build it stabilizer that does a pretty good job. The blue jeep has basically the same thing but it is 67 designs. The main problem with this setup is that Melissa and Elgin record with iPhone 10s which do not have the stabilization. Most of the video taken from the blue jeep is actually taken by hand... The mount is used very little for recording. Melissa is almost a human gimbal!

      Im currently on a week long road trip right now and i just got the bulletpoint the day before i left. i enjoyed it for the first 24 hours until it broke. the arm became disconnected from the bracket that tightens down to the main joint. they sent me a new one but that doesnt help me now being 800 miles away from home. i rigged it with electrical tape for now so well see how the 2nd one works. kinda wish i went with 67 designs though and got the dash cross bar they have for multiple accessories. thank you for the info and i will be dropping my first video in a week or so when i get back from my trip. stay safe and thank you again!

    What is the lift in the 2 door Rubicon?

    • @wyomingjeepers
      @wyomingjeepers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dynatrac EnduroSport 2" Lift. Turns out the lift was actually closer to 3". Also added Rancho Geometry Correction Brackets as the lift was taller than expected. The brackets improved the handling a lot. Also included the TeraFlex Front Track Bar Axle Bracket for front and rear but I'm not sure it was necessary or did anything other than center the jeep over the axles better. So, it was probably worth it. Now I also have 35 inch tires which were not in the Morrison video. I have plenty of clearance for most things I need now.

      It took four hours hiking it, examining the road, and then driving it. Elgin and I drove it again a month or so later. It took us 45 minutes to drive up and 75 minutes to come back down. We could have done it in 60 minutes if we hadn't gotten a huge rock stuck under the Jeep turning too tight. Thanks for asking. I'm sure others will have the same question. - The Chatty One
