  • Last year we embarked on the mighty, "Hole in the Rock" trail in beautiful Utah. We saw that it was being offered during, Easter Jeep Safari and we jumped on it. It hadn't been a guided run in 18 years and we became the first EJS sanctioned group through in that amount of time. We throughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend doing this in a heartbeat. Our video will give you a fair amount of insight to many of the obstacles on this trail but not all of them! This trail had been rated a 5 previously but has now been upgraded to a 6, optional 7 which we feel is more accurate. Oh....and it's about 70 miles outside of town so you better bring fuel if you're thinking of going...which after watching this...you will be.

    Love the way you cover the trail. You get a real feel for what it's like. Not just another dirt road drive and see what's for dinner. 🤭

    Looks like RR4W still has the trail rated at 5 for this year’s EJS. Anyway, nice video. Fun trail for sure

      Good to know, thank you for the input! The funny thing is, its got a differing rating on nearly every trail app, personally we feel like its a solid 6

    Looked like so much fun. Out of curiosity, did you have to use the rotopax tanks anytime during the trail? How did they do on gas?

    • @twowranglers

      We did go through the fuel. We made it to Halls Crossing on fumes - We strongly recommend bringing extra fuel

    Thank you for this video. After reading about the Mormon Expedition, I have always wanted to do this trail. Thanks to you, I just signed up for this EJS event next month. I am stoked!

    Thank you for posting this trail. Have never done EJS, but this looks like a fun one to start with and maybe even avoid some of the big crowds. 😉

    • @twowranglers

      We started EJS with this trail and so we were away from the crowds for the beginning of it. It really is a fun one, its a bit challenging here and there but doable and the history really made it special, hope you get to check it out sometime.

    I'll second the question on fuel. My wife and I are signed up for the EJS run down the Hole in the Rock trail this year. And like you guys, I have a thirsty 392. I'm carrying 6 gallons of extra fuel in a couple of Rotopax cans and curious if that's enough. Will top off fuel at Hall's Crossing coming and going. Thanks!

    • @twowranglers

      Hi there - We had 4 gallons each and had to race to Halls Crossing on fumes. We did not go to Halls prior the trail head since we topped off in Blanding. The gas @ Halls is an unmanned station and we almost had one of our eaten! You do go through quite a bit of fuel in the 392’s.

    I have a question about the steep “waterfall” where he blue TJ rocketed down: It rained our first night so on the way back we struggled mightily to climb that wet rock. Finally a Jeep on 40’s made it and we winched each other up as a daisy chain. Did you have any difficulty climbing the waterfall since it was dry?

    • @twowranglers

      No sure didn’t, being dry definitely helped

      Thank you! Going back and hope not to experience the same difficulties. Hoping for better weather!

    Looks like fun. But truly the 392 is not a rock crawler. It was made for the sand dunes. The standard 4.0 or 3.6 will do everything just as well.

    • @twowranglers

      We have a 3.6 as well and it does crawl well

  • @scottfield2289

    Nice jeeps, but the 392 was really not made for rock crawling, they were built for the Dunes. because the 3.6 will walk up any of these trails...no need for 392 beans.

    • @twowranglers

      Yeah, I (Stephanie) struggled with that obstacle, I didn’t have a lot of confidence going into it tbh, I think a lack of experience kinda hurt me. In no way do you “need” a 392, but it shouldn’t stop someone better at wheelin’ than me. I blame myself, I need more time behind the wheel. Thank you for your comment, we appreciate anyone taking the time to help us✌🏻

    What wheels are ypu running on the white 392? They look gold with silver outer ring?

    • @twowranglers

      “Primm” beadlocks by Black Rhino.

      Yes, you do go in then back out.

      Would a stock rubicon with 35s and a 1 1/2" lift be efficient to do this trail? I have the 2024- 4 door unlimited. I was surprised at how easy it looked in the beginning and then it looks like it got fairly difficult.

    • @twowranglers

      @@PatheticPeasant EJS requires 33’s and a rear locker, so at a minimum I’d have those. It’s worth noting that there are more obstacles than we show in our video, some are fairly technical. We chose to do this trail with a guide to ensure that we could get through it. One bit of advice we have is bring extra fuel, you’ll need it.
