    I have owned many corollas, they are very cheap to maintain these cars. Insurance is cheaper too, because they put non expensive parts to repair unlike the competition who will put camera's that cost thousands of dollars in costs to repair. Subaru impreza had headlight bezel that cost $$2500 to fix. Simple is better if you need an affordable car, and Corolla hybrid will save you money from fuel, and last a long time. That money can help you buy a sport car.

    I purchased one with the Nightshade package in Celestine paint on Monday of last week. It's my fourth Toyota hybrid, and I'm super pleased with it. We have a long steep hill near us, and this is the only one that could/can take the hill at the speed limit without the engine going nuts. Definitely an improvement over my 2019 Prius AWD.

    This is the practical, reliable, and great gas mileage vehicle folks need if they donot have a large family. Great vehicle if you can find one. Expect to pay through the nose for one or wait until inventory catches up. They are made at the Toyota/Mazda plant in Huntsville, Ala. I hope the quality is as good as ones Made in Japan, we shall see. If you don't need a vehicle currently, get a 2024 model, which will allow for any quirks or kinks to have been fleshed out and fixed. 🤔

    I have no trouble with my wireless charger in a couple of different types of iPhone cases, FYI. It always charges. My main issue with this vehicle is the engine is a bit loud but acceptable. Suspension is good, corners well, good safety tech, warned me of an imminent bumper-to-bumper issue today... good car to own. MPG as promised.

    12:22 "Even though this car is all wheel drive" It is in name only. The rear wheels are powered by a tiny electric motor meant only as an assist, not to prevent wheel spin. There is no mechanical connection between the front and rear axle and it can't transfer torque. Stay far away from this type of AWD system if you encounter slippery roads on any kind of prolonged incline.

    • @A_A_J.
      @A_A_J. ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's certainly good enough for most AWD needs. If you have lots of bad weather, then maybe, but plenty of people drive FWD in those same locations so you could just add snow tires and be more than fine. Really bad area... get a Subie.

    I want a Toyota, but every time I drive one I hate the lack of steering feel. It makes the car feel bigger and less intuitive. That being said, they are the best at hybrids, resale values, reliability, etc.. This one beats out the HRV, CX30, Kona, etc in this category though.

    • @GiuseppeGaetanoSabatelli
      @GiuseppeGaetanoSabatelli ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's actually pretty impressive how well they emulate a normal drive train.
      You gotta remember that even the idle speed is "faked" and it simulates an idle speed. It simulates drag downhill (hence the needle dipping into the charge zone downhill).
      Tapping the "gas" gently downhill doesn't apply "gas", but rather, reduces the drag and returns the needle to "zero." xd
      Also consider that because the engine can be off while it's driving, the A/C is electric, the steering is electric, the braking is electric. The gear shift isn't shifting any gears. There's no "parking gear", so it has to engage a parking brake. All kind of mindblowing stuff.

    I bought a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid over a Toyota Rav4 Hybrid last year because of these drivability issues
    Toyota has the best hybrids in the world, no doubt. The problem is the cost-cutting and the lack of refinement is felt
    The Tucson is seamless in driving. Really feels more like an EV than a regular gas powered crossover
    The Rav4's interior isn't on the Tucson's level, the sounds coming from the powertrain are unrefined, and the extra 3-4 MPG isn't enough to make up that difference in refinement.

Quick acceleration is nice, usually leave others behind when the light turns green. Just under 400 miles per tank. With 100lb weight in the back storage you can feel in the steering the reduced weight on the front wheels. Not a heavy cargo hauler. Does fine on dirt roads but if you want to go off the road get a RAV4 or Subaru. Or maybe the non-hybrid version?

    • @scp025
      @scp025 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. They'll have hybrid options in 2025, but that's just too long of a wait for me and probably many others, and word on the street is that their MPGs on those models might not even be much higher than their standard gas models, which is a little silly. That all combined with Subaru's abysmal infotainment system (both the technology and the ridiculous iPad-size screen they're putting in all their new cars) makes me very likely to jump ship to Toyota.

    In Thailand, I guess the Corolla Cross minor change will still be 1.8 Liter engine with the new facelift. It has to compete with the Chinese EV cars which get more attention from the Thai customers.

    Can you do a full comparison vs the new Kia Seltos

  • @paularmstrong3395
    @paularmstrong3395 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Toyota really needs to get on the stick and extend its Corolla Cross Hybrid line to Plug-In HEV. They tout the Cross Hybrid as having the same power train as a Prius; however, the Prius has a 'Prime' version (a PHEV), along with its RAV4 Prime, a PHEV. A Corolla Cross Prime, therefore, makes sense and should incorporate EV-only range and equivalent power train options in line with the Prius and RAV4.

    • @A_A_J.
      @A_A_J. ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Would make it more expensive than a RAV4 hybrid, and they'd start poaching their own sales. And they'd need a much more powerful electric motor. Complete redesign.

    • @paularmstrong3395
      @paularmstrong3395 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure that squares, A_A_J. Apples to Apples, a plug in version of a Corolla Cross would unlikely out-cost a RAV4 Prime ($43,090). Also in 2024, the Venza is rumored to be coming out with plug in version; then over to Lexus, one has the NX450h PHEV. The Corolla Cross's direct competitor at Kia, for example, is the Niro PHEV; which starts at 33,840, while the Corolla Cross XSE Hybrid starts at $31,065; add the plug in feature for another $K or two and one can see there's plenty of room for PHEV options in this segment. Yes, it would need a *bigger battery* (for EV-only range), prol'ly requiring re-fit, but not necessarily a bigger electric motor.

    • @levondarratt787
      @levondarratt787 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it's not touting. It is only having a Prius engine. Being a larger SUV compared to a Prius it should have a bigger and better engine of course

    • @A_A_J.
      @A_A_J. ปีที่แล้ว

      @@levondarratt787 which would also make it more expensive, plus you lose the economy of scale for using the same engine and not having to have an extra production line. You can get ANYTHING if you want to pay for it. People looking for a corolla want to pay LESS, not more. You definitely don't need more power in this little SUV... 0-60 in about 8 seconds is more than enough.

      Large screens are also disliked by many. I was looking at the Crosstrek and the 11 inch screen was WAY too big. You can't even use it while driving (unless you want to end up driving into the back of the next car, or SERIOUSLY testing the collision prevention system.

    I also hate that “smaller” has come to equal “shittier.” Why can’t this car hv same sort of interior as rav4?

    • @levondarratt787
      @levondarratt787 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the higher it is, the lower you are in the hierarchy on the roads. Truck drivers at the bottom. Formula 1 drivers are at the top. The lower you sit to the ground the better. It's the fallacy of American car buyers , they always need to make themselves look larger.... sits higher so the next car has to be even higher , and even higher and look over the other person. They constantly compete because of their inferiority complex.

    I would buy a nicer Kia Niro SX Touring, fully loaded for $2000 more. More leg room in back seat, ventilated and heated seats, memory seats, heated steering wheel and more. Plus, it get s 55 mpg and is less buzzy, smoother engine and less road noise. No AWD but my 2019 Niro Touring has been great in all-weather situations.
