Nice. This video is the most clear & concise video on quickly flashing to SkyNet. Only 3 minutes long, without extra auto leveling or Bowden details.
However, I immediately got an "Err: Too far!" warning.
0,0,0 is the front left corner of the bed, with 220,220,0 at far right base. Meanwhile my home position is -33,-10,0.
Everything looks OK, I can't figure it out. Is there something in IDE I should change?

Has the original firmware. It's encrypted and locked so it is difficult to "backup" in any manner that would allow you to restore it.
i cant find the anet v0.1 on board help!

I have an Anet A8 that will not go to the Home Location (center of heat bed). I have been advised to redownload skynet 1.0 and start fresh. Has anyone else had this issue and did it fix it? I am fixing the printer for a friend. The current firmware has autoleveling on it but there is an autoleveler on the printer that my friend put on. I have never worked with a DIY 3D printer so I am trying to put a game plan together.
I don't know what's wrong, I bought the sensor and I installed all the right software for it on my computer but when I went to put it into the Arduino software to flash it over to my printer it didn't pop up with the Anet v1.0, I tried every other one but it didn't work. So if anyone know s how to fix my problem that would be great.
Ive followed the the video to the tee including the offset in th arduin sketch but I cannot get the hot end close enough to the bed what is the problem
My1936 there's a little switch you installed on the left side of the printer. Move that up/down to get the hotend as close as possible to the bed without touching when "home all" is selected. Then take a sheet of paper and slide it under the hotend so that the paper slides almost completely free. Do this to each corner, then double and triple check. That should work.
i just installed this cause i only get errors when trying to install marlin! And it works 100% fine for me!
Something wrong with the config. If I push the button for Z move 1mm up, it moves 25mm. If I go to change temperatures it intcements 25 degrees instead of 1 celsius. Where is the problem?
Check your file link... it seems to have been hijacked
when i try to open the SkyNet it doesn't work and i cant extract the files it doesn't work ether
so just be clear, Skynet is the cfw for A8, and skynet is a variation of marlin? and skynet alpha1.1 is upgrade version of it?

Hello, when I start my Anet A2 printer, the intro turns on and printer statistics update on the LCD. However, when I press the only button, it loops the intro. I am not able to use this printer and I am very confused. Do I need to redownload the firmware or something?
I am sorry I just have no idea what I am doing.
I reuploaded the firmware and nothing has seemed to change. The printer still does not find the center of the heat bed as the starting postition when I press Auto Home.When I go into the my Windows 10 setting, the Anet A8 does not show up as a printer. Is there a trick to get the computer to see this printer? Is there a printer driver other than the firmware I need to install?

try flipping the cables direction if you cant you just need to change a setting in your configuration h basically inverting the direction
Ahh help guys? I hot to open arduino but nothing happens. It used to say install java which I did and now when I try to open it, it doesn't work. Also when I trouble shoot it it says it's a windows 8 version. Any help would be much appreciated thanks. Great video though

I use the anet a2 plus with the LCD12864. After the upload was completed the printer makes the same noise as if I klick the button. The display doesn't show anything also blue. these noise doesn't turn off until I plug the cable or press SW1. after 5 seconds the noise starts again. please help
I have the same problem, did you find a solution or a way to go back? I'm hoping its not bricked as I am new to adjusting the variables. So far all I've tried is getting rid of the // for each screen option but no success yet. Any help would be great
Adam Davidson i can’t get it because I can’t find a fitting firmware. I got a ramps1.4 and a Arduino Mega but this isn’t that easy and till yet it don’t work fine...
JonasVonTheTuber do you know if that’s the only way to fix it now? Do you think I should try get a ramps board too or do you know if you can reflash back to the Anet firmware to have another go
Adam Davidson you can go back to the original firmware when you find it somewhere deep in the internet. The easiest solution is to get a new board but there is a lot of configuration and stuff. You also need to geht new plugs for the wires. You can also try to buy the same board with the right firmware. I think this is really the best way.
JonasVonTheTuber I’ve done lots of research and I found people have said the cable for the screen just needs to be flipped around or maybe you could do it in marlin. I will try this solution soon
I have tried a lot of times to flash this and every time it says it timed out! Any suggestions?
having the same problem even though I am connected in Cura, do you have an issue where it won't stay connected for long periods of time, ex. when just sitting at idle usb will disconnect? Ive heard it is because of the power supply, upgrading my psu and adding a mosfet for heated bed will let you know if this fixes it. Kind of afraid to try and flash the firmware while the connection is so precarious!
ok i did everything u did used all the same files and everything. uploading skynet to my printer failed about 90% thru and now my printer wont do nothing and only displays 2 solid lines on the lcd screen. how do i fix this?

If you're getting a compiling error like i was and if you're installing SkynetV 2.3.2 be sure to select the right configuration h file for your printer then copy it to the main Skynet folder.
The current release is v2.4.2. You installed the alpha release.

what's the difference?
While the Anet firmware is based on open-source under the commons license, they've closed it. You can't add different displays, configure auto-level, etc. with the original firmware. Now if you are satisfied with they machine as-built, you probably don't need to upgrade.
But I'm like a lot of printer builders, I want to see how much I can make this rig mine. For me it was a reasonable choice.
This is very well documented, the .zip includes everything you need to get it installed. Instructions, step by step, and a custom arduino ide that contains the definitions for the closed-source print controller.
Your hardware, your choice. I won't think any less of anyone who chooses to do this or leave well enough alone.
But it floats my boat and that's all that matters to me.
Quinn Lenssen It also adds thermal runaway protection, new to Marlin, but missing in the OEM firmware. Unless you're all for not making a device safer, that should be reason enough. IMHO

you can pause print on the default firmware tho, just go to SD card settings while its printing

yes. disconnect any software you connecting to the A8 (like Cura, repetier etc)
select correct prots (com5 in my case)
make sure you install the driver for A8 it is named CH341SER.EXE
im using windows10 64x pro.
the only problem i have now is the program simplify3d, i just cant get this software to connect to a8, all other software works like charm.
Oh god, the last thing people need is to install a firmware called Skynet on their 3D printers lol
