      I got the P1 V2 which is the cheapest wheel….with a 8nm base. and I love it! It is 20 mm wider than the Moza cheapest rim, and it makes a huge difference. The rubber grip on the Fanatec wheel is good, so if u are in between a Moza or Fanatec, look at the wheel size. I have not tried the Moza 28cm wheel btw, I just know it is too small for what I want.
      The upgrade of the V3 pedals was in my best upgrade, so delighted with those.
      From someone who used to race , with modest wins in one make series……those V3 pedals were the biggest upgrade, and I see no need to upgrade these pedals. Or the 8 nm base either……they are my final upgrade

      Going with an entry level fanatec was the worst decision I made in the beginning my sim race journey. Its a flawed design, as the USB data connection within the shaft often slips and disconnects. (requiring a torque wrench to properly reseat and tighten - which is only a temp fix). Plus their customer service is horrible, taking forever to respond and get return process started.
      I bit the bullet and just went with Simucube 2 Pro, so I’d never have to buy another wheelbase again (probably last the rest of my life)

    I finally went DD with this deal on Monday of this week. Getting it in next week. I did the BMW wheel (essentially the same wheel as the P1v2 but a bit flashier) for the same price. I was going for the Cammus C5 initially on the same day, and the price for both the C5 and a set of pedals was only $299US, $329 with a desk clamp. What stopped me was the hideous shipping charges Cammus was charging from China to NYC, NY---$114 (!!!) bumping the price to a whopping $443....no deal there at all. The Fanatec ended up only costing me $525 total delivered and I get the option of going from 5Nm to 8Nm, different steering wheel/pedal options, etc. It's just a better ecosystem to do this with. No regrets at all.

    fanatec might be better, but shipping is a nightmare. I can just walk into a big store in canada (canada computers or memory express), and buy a g920 off the shelf, or its TM competitor. The only DD i saw was the moza r5 bundle. It costs 524 CAD after conversion rates, plus you have to pay duties because fanatec doesnt have any official suppliers in canada (or at least ontario). Or you could go to a sim store and pay 350 cad for a mclaren gt3 racing wheel. I heard upwards of 900 CAD for a 8mn csl (they dont sell the 5). Just imagine when the wheel breaks. Just imagine the pain to ship it back to fanatec and get a replacement. Not fun. Good price though.

    400$, with the CSLDD base (great), with the most basic wheel of fanatec (only 14 buttons against 20 on the G923 and also G923 has a wheel switch and worst grip than G923), with the most basic fanatec pedals and no clutch (you'll have to spend 40$ more for the clutch, the peddals are same level than logitech ones, even a bit better) and no shifter (G923 bundles with shifter are arround 380$, and fanatec only offers one shifter that costs over 250$, which is ultimately the best shifter in the market but still expensive). So you're comparing a 400$ bundle that only offers better base, and in the rest it lacks of it or is the same quality than logitech, and yes you can upgrade, but fanatec still to expensive to be a friendly begginer ecosistem.
    I play rally games like dirt 2.0 as well as the F1 games, GT7 and asseto corsa, but I need a shifter for rally, and If I had to start on the fanatec ecosystem I would have spent at least with this bundle arround 700$ because of the shifter and the clutch pedal, and I will have a worse wheel. So I do not think this killed logitech, but I think It will make logitech lower their prices which will be a very good thing for sim racers.

      For fuck sake no. Use it , gain some experience, if you are okay with it keep it. If nah sell it and buy the fanatec, not that huge of a deal. You can also consider Moza steering wheel + bases, cause the wheels are aluminum and not plastic like fanatec. But I would recommend going for the CSL v2 pedals of fanatec, as I know moza 's pedals sucks.

    • @superdupertyson
      @superdupertyson ปีที่แล้ว

      it would be the feel of the wheel. the direct drives feel much better. i have a g27 and most the time i dont use clutch/shifter. unless im just messing about or rally or drifting. if you just want to do flat out gt racing, or iracing you dont need the clutch or shifter, and it will make you slower. but having the clutch and shifter is nice for sure. you can practice heel and toe technique. i was able to use the things i learned from that in real life. a dd wheel wont make you any faster. it might give you a bit more confidence to push harder or catch slides, which is obviously better. in the end its an expensive hobby. the load cell brakes are probably the strongest upgrade you could get which will make the most difference. i would rather cheap wheel with vr or triples personally but im not an expert either.

    • @tadtakuma
      @tadtakuma ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Direct-drive wheels are on a different planet when it comes to the force feedback and the detail you can get from them. Simply put, you get a much better feeling for what the car does.
      Fanatec also has a good eco system, so there's a lot of extras you can buy and upgrade to later on

    • @hamzerpanzer
      @hamzerpanzer ปีที่แล้ว

      The g920 only outputs 2 nM of torque and is also gear driven. This wheel base outputs 5 nM of torque without a boost kit, and 8 nM with. That's a LOT more force so the resistance will feel more realistic. It's also direct drive instead of gear-driven, so it should feel smoother. You'll also be able to feel things like the car losing traction for example, the g920 really isn't capable of that
