I upgraded to the Logitech G Pro and everything about it is FANTASTIC ! @@M-hq9xz Absolutely not. And your comment is foolish because.. what if it doesn’t work? There are horror stories on the Fanatec forum. Go for it! You get what you deserve.
I have a gt dd extreme in my basket. After reading the issues about fanatec im like hold on a minute. I want something that plugs into my ps5 without worrying about updates and having to drag a laptop out my loft to update it.
You also forgot to mention that at a price of €1300 the DD Extreme only comes with the plastic QR2 lite. The same QR2 lite that Fanatec claims can only handle 8Nm on all their other wheelbases, but for some reason they claim its OK on this 15Nm base. For that amount of money you would think they would at least include the regular metal QR2! Fanatec are the only sim racing brand with a QR tax! Here's something for ya. I did some number crunching tonight on the Logitech in the UK, US & Oz. These 3 countries are now copping a discount if both wheel and pedals are bought at the same time. A pair of racing gloves are thrown in for nix. In the US a buyer pays the equivalent of AU$2000 for the G Pro + Pedals In the UK a buyer pays the equivalent of AU$2,276 for the G Pro + Pedals In Oz a buyer pays AU$1784 for the G Pro + Pedals And those are current prices as of 19th July, 2024. AND don't drop in a utuber's code to get the %5. It doesn't work when buying both items.
You can’t compare logi/fanatec pr.. sure logi doesn’t have an eco system but that doesn’t compare to the way fanatec has ZERO customer service and basically ghosting their customers for months on end..
It wasn’t meant to be a comparison, more that I was just acknowledging the ongoing PR situation as it wouldn’t have been right to produce this video without addressing these concerns 👍🏼
FANATEC support doesn't work don't hesitate after purchasing if you have a problem it's over for you at my request they've been missing for 3 months terrible
These guys talk about spending hard earned money and don’t even do so.. I wanted fanatec but opted for logi cause fanatec has no dependability or credibility to their name and I felt more comfortable with a company with a good reputation, even if they had no eco system ..
Not sure why that Gran Turismo wheel is always included in review as the only ps5 option... pretty sure best to just get dd+ and buy a better wheel..they should all work on ps5.
You absolutely could! The GT DD Extreme is an officially licensed product, so figured it would be better to focus on this setup as a direct comparison to the Logitech G Pro Wheel - but yes, you’re absolutely correct, you can do that if you’re not keen on the GT wheel 👌🏼
@@JorgePowell I've just bought the GT DD Extreme myself, also with the v2 pedals. This is my entry into the Fanatec eco system, so I thought getting the GT wheel was a sensible choice as a first all-round wheel. I may look into getting a high-end wheel in the future. However, due to Fanatec's very recent switch to the QR2 system, getting a separate wheel right now feels bad, because they are all still QR1, so I'd have to buy an additional QR2 adapter, which adds a lot of extra cost. So my plan is to wait until all the Fanatec wheels are all upgraded to QR2, and while they're doing that maybe they will also add some other improvements? So I'd rather wait for that. But once they're updated, I may buy a new wheel. Hopefully I can then sell the GT wheel used without much loss, because it's not available separately, so I would guess there should be some demand. Anyway, good and fair review video, IMHO - well done!
Thanks mate, how was your experience with shipping etc? That’s a fair point, I ended up cutting out my section about QR2 as it felt a bit bulky within the video but I agree that it’s kind of a weird time to buy into the ecosystem atm - hopefully everything will have caught up in a few months, hope you’re enjoying your new wheel!
@@JorgePowell Shipping was fine, except I had to wait a bit longer than originally estimated by the shop - but not much (maybe a week). So I can't complain. I'm located in Germany, not sure if that makes a difference. Shipping came from the Netherlands, I think, but I can't recall right now. Yeah, it's a somewhat weird time to buy into the Fanatec ecosystem - but the DD+ Extreme bundle made it easier for me because it included a native QR2 wheel, so I didn't feel I paid extra to get QR2. And I hope at some point in the future to resell the GT wheel at only a small loss, and then get a new QR2 high-end wheel. Without QR2, I probably wouldn't have gone Fanatec, because everybody (and their mother) said that QR1 is the worst, compared to the competition. So QR2 actually is what made Fanatec viable for me again.
Simagic has better and cheaper priced products but between these two I'd go with the Logitech DD. I only have the Pro pedals and are really good. It's a shame the wheel is so expensive.
Seems simagic is better, but its also more expensive and not compatible with ps5. You need to buy a extra adapter and many people have problems getting that product to work good for ps5. Considering how much thoose products cost i would never risk it if its for ps5. If it was for pc i would get simagic over fanatec and logitech unless on a budget
These are not comparable wheels Jorge, only the maker's name is the same. Even Trueforce is done proper on the Pro. Logitech has the lower end of the market sewn up and always has imho. The new battleground is DD and I'm gonna guess & say, in 5yrs that's all there will be in the new wheel market.
Please rememver this is one bog strong dude. So for him 10 to 11nm is nothing. For average males its plenty lol. Yes it makea a difference for comfort feel also.
Between those two, I'd take the logitech pro. But if you're only on console, I would've used that money towards a gaming PC instead. Much better upgrade than upgrading your steering wheel if you ask me.
Damn $1600 vs $1450. For fake racing wheels lmao. Can buy a used car with that kind of money and get a more realistic experience cause it is fawwking a real car. Wtf. Ill stick to my $200 g29. Lmao
Buying a car that is about $1500 in this economy now a days will hardly will get you a barely functioning car and needs more work on it that will going to cost thousands as well. And the experience is nothing compared to a proper track car either... I can tell you're ignorant from this subject since you have no clue on how expensive racing is in real life by personal HPDE or full on professionals drivers. You can't take a car with panels hanging off or leaking fluid since that is a major road hazard which will get you denied on the spot if the track host even see that. And yes, I also own a G29 with the shifter that is on a wheel stand and playing GT6 for the PS3 to NFS: Heat on my gaming laptop. It's not the latest and greatest but it's adequate for my liking. You think it's stupid to spend over $1000 on a racing wheel but people who are enthusiasts about sim racing will spend that much money to get the best experience for themselves. Why do you think some people buy sports cars and take it to the track? I don't know... Maybe it's a hobby for them that they enjoy a lot? I don't speak for everyone who own sports cars but I know a good handful of them have sports car because they love to drive. Don't be ignorant like this, we are all on the same boat in the middle of a deep blue ocean.
@haaxxx9 actually you can buy a used Honda or Toyota for $1500-2000 that will last you another 5-10 years. Not all used cars are bad. Sometimes owners don't want it anymore so they sell it. No one is talking about a used race car u dummbass lmao. I'm talking about if someone gonna spend that much they can buy a used car that will take them places. We aren't pro racers why the fawwk we need to buy a $300k race car? Smh

G29 very cheap many the details gone in game and G29 not comfortable for drifting or fast drive and G29 wheel too small for me. But yeah G29 quality wheel are smooth and premium then Fanatec DD Pro. In the US a buyer pays the equivalent of AU$2000 for the G Pro + Pedals
In the UK a buyer pays the equivalent of AU$2,276 for the G Pro + Pedals
In Oz a buyer pays AU$1784 for the G Pro + Pedals
And those are current prices as of 19th July, 2024.
AND don't drop in a utuber's code to get the %5. It doesn't work when buying both items.
Can anyone recommend a chair that is sturdy and that the brakes don't move forward, like what happens with cheaper 'rigs'?
I feel like I would be happy with a T-GT 2? or is Direct Drive just the only way to go in 2024.
Bro if you got rid of the g29 i dont mind taking it off your hands. I have a dfgt 😢
Loved the idea of getting into the fanatec ecosystem but I went with gpro because of all the horror story’s I’ve heard about fanatec…
@@TheOtherJoseph you did well, it's all true, unfortunately I fell for it
and I was screwed bye
I have some discount for the Logi if you don't mind. @@AndreaGalazzo
Charging for a version 2 (qr2) of something faulty by design (qr1) is criminal
Which one will you use?
I have plans to use both for different setups - lots of videos planned in future! 👀

Logitech with new and old works, shifter and pedals
Mate what are you even talking about?
Please rememver this is one bog strong dude. So for him 10 to 11nm is nothing. For average males its plenty lol. Yes it makea a difference for comfort feel also.
Haha, thanks mate 💪🏼
Between those two, I'd take the logitech pro. But if you're only on console, I would've used that money towards a gaming PC instead. Much better upgrade than upgrading your steering wheel if you ask me.
I got high end pc+ps5. Havent found a single car game i like on PC. Only enyoy gran turismo
@alebaler I reccomend ACC and rF2. Those are my 2 favorites
May as well say goodbye to your money...
No way I'd ever return to Fanatec
The fanatec wheel looks like shit 🤮
Yep hard plastic
2.58 *subjective
That’s what I said brother ✌🏼
Fanatec is trash
Ridiculous high price....! Doesn't worth more than 500€...
Products are worth what buyers are willing to pay, has always been this way
Cheap ….. lots of people are buying DD wheels. I got simagic was £1200 without pedals
Smh
Dude what you said? I disagree. G29 not good wheel this direct drive not better then TGT-2. G29 very cheap many the details gone in game and G29 not comfortable for drifting or fast drive and G29 wheel too small for me. But yeah G29 quality wheel are smooth and premium then Fanatec DD Pro.
If you try TGT-2 you will say big difference but if you try Logitech G Pro with TGT-2 you will say G Pro more faster and smooth then TGT-2.
G29 is good wheel but not for expert driver, you can’t compare expert class with beginner class.
u do have a point but good luck with the maintenance fees if you are paying that much for a real car
