I recently upgraded to a full Simagic setup including the new hydraulic handbrake that's about to release (it'll be here friday). You need a special piece of hardware called a Sigma Cortex converter to use Simagic hardware on PS4 and PS5. This is an upgrade I purchased specifically for PC racing and drifting but it's nice to have at least one processional quality manufacturer that is available on PS5 without dropping an extra $250 on the licensing, I could care less if Sony makes money off the hardware, I'm pissed I spent $500 on a Thrustmaster T248, and absolute rip-off with the quality for that price. Unfortunately, I think that this licensing cost is why PS5 wont be getting any more racing games or much more racing hardware, the cost to buy in is too high when you can get a PSVR for nearly the same cost.

I recently upgraded from a G29 to a T300RS GT and just got the TLCM pedals, which I'm still trying to find the best spring configuration for. For anyone starting out or wanting to test the waters without spending too much, you can't go wrong with a G29. Had mine for 5 years and it got me to A+ on Gran Turismo. Only issue is the potentiometers need cleaning from time to time, which is a very easy job.

    Great video, as always.
Just my perspective, as an owner of TWO G29s, a Fanatecc DD Pro (8nm, LC), and a Logitech G Pro: agreed, the G29 (or Thrustmaster equivalent) is great value, and did me well for two years, before I upgraded to a DD Pro.
I loved the DD Pro, but your comments about the quick release are spot on. Mine clicks under heavy load, and has disconnected a few times. Shyte engineering. That Fanatec have now released updated versions only now speaks to their relationship with customers. When my DD Pro arrived, it had a defective throttle pedal. To say that Fanatec support is incompetent is understating things.
Which leads me to the G Pro. Your comments about size, cost, and ecosystem are strong, valid points. However, I ordered a G Pro for my main rig because I didn't want to wait for my DD Pro to inevitably fail at some point (the pedals already had). I could not be happier. The implementation of True Force is astounding. Another main reason to buy Logitech, for me, was the quality of construction and reliability.
Oh, why so many wheels? I have two separate rigs, but my collection would no doubt be much smaller that many of you.

I have started with a t150 4 years ago, then upgraded the pedals to a TLCM and never felt the need to change. If you want to be fast, the pedals will be the most important piece to upgrade but i have been always tempted to try the t300 servo just to be able to switch wheels. In my opinion, if you play on PS spending over 1k€ for a DD is not worth it because not many games have an advanced feedback to live up to the expecations.

Get a T150 and a PS4 and you have an outstanding inexpensive driving sim. I later upgraded to PS5 and a DD pro but TBH I passed all the license tests using that little T150 and I still miss it. I bought a G29 as my first wheel, was quite happy with it, apart from it being quite rattly and noisy, especially after a few years of use. Then bought a T300RS, it was much quieter and smoother, still use it today. I was kind of considering getting a direct drive, but the prices for PS5 compatible sets are putting me off, especially considering I'm only a casual racer, level B on GT7 lol, so I guess I'll stick with my T300 🙃 Also bought the t-lcm pedals.
P.s. I also experienced the wheel just randomly disconnecting, but after a little research, that problem was solved with something called an active usb extension, cost about 20 quid on amazon, and the wheel hasn't disconnected ever since 🙂

I am getting my T300 RS GT today. I am a new sim racer and I do not want to dive into it too crazy, though I could acquire better direct driver versions. Even got a foldable seat (Playseat Challenger X) and should soon get the PSVR 2.
Getting into sim racing is not cheap.
    PS5 - £475
    Playseat Challenger X - £240
    T300 RS GT wheel - £300
    PSVR 2 - £530
Not counting extra remotes (£65), charger (£25) and games (like Gran Turismo 7 - £62).
Almost £1750 just to begin. So, I am not investing heavy in any top notch sim racing equipment yet.

Pretty solid video yet I feel like picking a point of contention since I’m bought in on the Logitech Pro wheel & pedals!
You didn’t really speak to the fact that the logi pro in PS edition is also PC compatible, nothing about the fact it has a pretty solid Wheel QD that’s better then Fanatec unless you pay extra for the just released QR2 and good luck getting that shipped quickly ! As for the pro pedals your criticism about price might be a continental issue since at $350 that’s a lot for what they are. In the USA when buying wheel and pedals together Logitech gives you an automatic discount that basically brings the pedals down to about $260 dollars and if you have other discount codes they will stack ontop of their bundle discount. At that price and with what’s included they compare far more favorably against even the CSL elites in my opinion and use. Also failed to mention if you get a Fanatec PS compatible base and decide to buy the club sport pedals you must have a laptop to update their firmware before they will work with any of their PS bases … Logitech Pro is full on plug and play albeit to firmware update you must get a PC/MAC access. Although in my experience logitechs usually come with the latest firmware on newer products, old stock not so much.

I'm thinking of getting the T300 RS as my first wheel but the overheating issue really holds me back. This model was released in 2014 and Thrustmaster to this day couldn't bother to address the issue. They also don't provide official warranty here in Brazil so we're stuck with either the store provided warranty or just luck. I was even thinking of getting one of the more 'affordable' DD wheels but since none of the manufacturers have official retailers here, they end up costing pretty much double the price of the T300 RS. It's really frustrating.

Great video! Thank you very much. I use a Thruthmaster T300 GT on a PS5 and mainly play ACC, GT7 and EA WRC. I was thinking of switching to a Logitech G Pro. It's expensive but the feedback I've seen is that it gives a very good feel in ACC and GT7, even though it's pedals are not the best, nor does it have an ecosystem. The new CS DD+ from Fanatec scares me because of Fanatec's bad customer service in case there is a problem. You think it's really not worth it to trade the T300 GT for the Log. G Pro?

Logitech wheels are honestly only good for a used market value. Example. 929 is $400 cdn and shifter is 80$. I got both seperatky on FB for 250 total. I spent another 80$ on a stand thats on amazon for 180$. So i have the basics of everything but a dedicated seat. (Use my gaming chair) Once you spent that $400 on a wheel you might aswell spend that little bit for a DD wheel. Getting an entry DD for 500$ cdn + shipping ect is far superior for the $$ value

From a 3nd party the fanatec is 2 grand Canadian $, just for the base and wheel, pedals are extra. YIKES ! The Logitech pro in Canada is the same with taxes its 1900 $, too much. Save yourself the headache and get something like the flat bottom BMW wheel, trust my personal experience here.
