    I went with an Industrial Injection no tune kit. It was pretty detailed but it seems like the S&S is a little more detailed. Nice video and thank you my friend!

    The fella that originally bought it requested the 2019 6.7 Cummins motors.
    Found that out after I just found 2 manuals in the truck 2018&2019

    I had the industrial kit for my 19. The S&S is a far superior product. I was never able to get it tuned correctly and the truck never ran right with the II. I would probably still have the truck had I went with the S&S kit. Long story short, you made the right choice.

    I bought the S&S Diesel CP3 conversion kit as a precautionary measure In September 2021 and changed it myself in my driveway on my 2019 Ram 5500 with 186,000 miles and three weeks later in October 2021 with 192.000 miles, truck has no issues!. It was fairly easy as long as you are mechanically inclined. HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED KIT! The only part I would pay attention to is the instructions because, every detail isn't there. Use good judgment and you'll be good.

    What no one is talking about, and the reason Ram should be replacing their CP4's for CP3's for FREE is when your CP4 grenades while running down the highway at 70+mph with a heavy umpteen thousand pound load behind you. Your truck basically shuts off. You lose your brakes and your steering instantly when your engine cuts off. Think about how catastrophic that is!

      They are now with the latest recall. Get your trucks in for the recall appointment if you have a 2022 or newer.

      What a drama-queen! Unless you are a total weakling, you do not lose brakes; you lose power assist to brakes. You do not lose steering; you lose power assist to steering. If you cannot drive the truck without the power assist then you should stick to a Yugo.

    My S&S CP3 swap kit is on the shelf waiting for me to install it when I get time. I contacted Ram and they are no help at all. I explained the safety issue. I guess a certain number of people have to die before they are forced to do a recall. It's not a matter of if, it's when. He did not mention the warranty. S&S has a great warranty.

    One would think that's a lot of money to replace the CP pump but it's cheaper than having to repair everything else when it goes bad. Cheap insurance. Great video.

    What the hell was ram thinking!? It's almost like there was a competing company that had issues with the cp4 for an entire generation of their diesel engines... but its good they saw the error of their ways and went back to stuff that works reliably.. great video! Love this truck

    Mine is being done next week. The dealer still don't have the parts so having it done elsewhere and submitting the bill to FCA. I called FCA today and was told to submit a Paid itemized bill. I'll be happy if they pay 75%. I'll know its been done right.

    Factory Warranty on fuel system is already voided. No warranty with hybrid cp3 conversion. But now you have to worry about cp3 reliability because it's not a factory stock cp3.

      The law (Magnasun Moss Act).prevents Dodge from voiding your warranty. With that said if the pump fails then it’s on you because it’s after market however if anything else in the fuel system fails it’s on Dodge per the warranty unless the pump caused the failure. The burden of proof is on the manufacturer the aftermarket part caused the issue. I am sure that some dumb ass service manager will try to shove the voided warranty argument down your throat. You may even have to lawyer up to make them follow the law.

      Repair vehicle, you are surely mistaken in your opinion about using a lawyer. I work in executive management for a major energy company. I deal with lawyers on a daily basis both in house and hired law firms. A law suit, any law suit cost 40K-60K to defend on the low end. The parties named in the suit would be the servicing dealer and Chrysler as co defendants. The first lawyer at Chrysler that looks at the suit will see the suit is based on a violation of law. It is a case they cannot win. I promise they will not spend 40-60K fighting a losing battle. It is a business and they will make a business decision to settle the case. I know this because I have made this decision myself multiple times. When you have a loser you don’t throw good money away fighting that loser. Trust me they are not stupid. Chrysler knows the law and unfortunately the dumb ass service manager does not. The company obviously does not warrant the aftermarket pump or any damage they can prove was caused by an aftermarket part but the rest of the warranty is intact. An aftermarket fuel pump does not negate the warranty on your transmission or rear end or anything else not involved in the pump failure.

    Did s&s cp3 swap no tune kit on my 2019. Did ok first couple of days then I noticed the rail pressure creep up idling 5800ish desired to getting 7000 actual, then 8000actual, then 10000actual then throws p0088 code and service engine throttle control now its desired is 5800psi at idle with 12000-15000psi actaul.. Wide open throttle always stayed within specs this whole time. I'm at a loss, any ideas

    Not so fast! New recall just came out, dealers are now changing out the CP4.2 for the CP3 pump. If your truck (2022 and up) has the notice for the newest recall, you'll be CP3 pump.

    Did you get the s&s super sport cp3? And this will work with your current ezlynk tuning with no additional changes to it? Can you run your 150 horsepower tune on this?

    Hey I know you sold this beast recently but do you recall if your pump was producing a gear lash clanking sound at light loads and when letting off the throttle? Mine is annoyingly noisy and I even removed the pump and reinstalled it "phased" to engine TDC per Rams instructions for their own in house conversion kits. Nothing changed. S&S says it’s fine and not causing harm but it is borderline embarrassing because my truck sounds like an old junker!

    Just had the dealer swap the CP4 for a new CP3 (with conversion kit). I asked if the tech had torn down the removed unit to see if the roller or cam had wear and was advised that it was not part of their job. If they do not tear down and inspect, how can you be certain that the rest of the fuel system is free from contamination caused by worn, metal to metal, contamination?

      Forgot to mention, the swap was a scheduled recall swap and was NOT due to pump failure. Still, I am curious if there is a danger of worn cam/roller assemblies on the CP4 creating debris that could pass through to the rails and injectors. Big pieces of metal will get caught on metering unit screen but I don't know if smaller pieces could get through. FYI: vehicle is 2020 Ram 3500, apx 40k miles. Anyone have thoughts?

    One thing I don't get is the ford use a similar cp4 but their failure rate is nothing compared to the rams. Why is that?

      Failure rate for CP4 equipped Super Duty’s (2011-Current) is on par with GM failures. I believe there is a class action lawsuit in which the claim is they are defective from the factory. You can find conversion kits readily available.
      I think hearing about failure and conversion from Ram owners is just more mainstream for some reason. Funny considering Cummins ditched the CP4 in the Ram after two model years.

    Just got my factory recall for my 2020 2500, but they said no solution available at this time. Said they will contact me when one is available. I am hoping they will allow me to swap it and get them to pay for it.

      Check w/ S&S, I believe the factory was reimburse customers who had to replaced their CP4’s. They offer no tune swap option.

      @@BEASTProjects I called and they said they would not cover replacing aftermarket parts unless the CP4 failed and there was no option. Nothing like driving a ticking time bomb. Covered by warranty and now recall. At the dealer they had one that failed and it was there for 4 months and cost was over $18,000. They installed a CP3 and made it fit. Probably from a 2021
