Actually, in one of the modern spongebob episodes, mr krabs legitimately hires gary to teach spongebob how to drive, and does so around a super fast-moving highway flawlessly. So yes, a snail can indeed drive better than a sponge.

It’s either the first entry in the Donkey Kong series due to the name, or the first Mario game since you’re playing as Mario (or, as he was known at the time, Jumpman). If it’s the first entry in the DK series, that means that Mario is a spin-off.

Hi! MKWii modder here! As much as I enjoyed the diverse representation for all the Mario Kart games, you barely scratched the surface with CTGP - it is SO much more than just 200+ tracks. It has custom game modes, rules, a speed mod, and even a 24 player mode on the way! I highly suggest taking a deeper look at CTGP-R and seeing all the content it has to offer :)

I love how even the items in Dragon Ball Kart fit perfectly. Having Yamcha be the Boo item and the Oozaru is bananas made me bust a gut.

When I installed CTGP R on my Wii / Wii U, I had a blast playing most of the custom tracks online and offline! My most favorite CT is Yoshi's Woolly Raceway.

Yea, the MKW modding community is huge. CTGP doesn't even cover the plethora of MKW custom tracks. Plus there's new modes like Time Trials Online, Hide-n-Seek and plenty of distributions to check out.

I was at an arcade today playing Mario Kart GP. I kind of wish people made fan tracks for those games. I was in the middle of a race when I thought:
‘Man, I wish I could make a track and share it with the locals.’

There's a pretty good Mario Kart 8 mod that gives Wario his Biker outfit from WarioWare… If the Wario Bike gets modded in there (or a Biker Wario mod get some made for MKWii), it'd be 👨🍳👌

Some more noteworthy SMK hacks are Super Baldy Kart and Sour Music Kart. They have entirely new track themes and even custom music 👍. Super Parigo Kart is also a super hack worth mentioning, but it's a pretty tough one.
i remember playing Baldy Kart years ago, one of the most quality SMK hacks out there.
I've got to say I love Ant's videos that cover ROM hacks. He finds all sorts of gold I'd never come by in years. I'm thankful that there are people out there doing projects like these.

Boy! The possibilities and creativity with all these rom hacks and more are never ending!
And I am loving it so very very much till the very end of it all.
I'm really glad to see that you covered a lot from each Mario Kart! I make mods for both Mario Kart Wii and DS and it's great to see DS getting some love when it comes to ROM hacks. CTGP Nitro is recent and I'm glad to see it's getting coverage out there, as the whole team has put a lot of work on it, and there's plenty more to come. (Also one of my tracks appeared in the video yay!) As for Wii, lemme tell ya, CTGP-R is merely scratching the surface of what MKWii modding can offer. There are over 1000 custom tracks to play outside of just CTGP, and plenty of other packs that bring together many tracks that you may not see in CTGP, such as Variety Pack and Mario Kart Fusion. There are also new game modes such as Hide and Seek. If anyone's interested in knowing more of MKDS modding, there's the DSHack 2 website, and for MKWii, the Custom Mario Kart wiki is certainly the place to be. :)

Spongebob actually can drive, but he had some sort of mental block about boats. He could drive a burger car just fine in the first movie.

Romhacks and bootlegs oh my! MKwii has a *very prolific maphack scene* and even it's own unofficial servers complete with a better ranking system than the old Nintendo WIfi Connection service (and better cheat prevention, too!)

This new video came sooner than I was expecting .
While all these custom courses are cool and all, why T-Pose Luigi only? The sky's the limit!
If CTGP was impressive, you should check out Variety Pack (also a mod of MKWii). Content includes:
300 custom tracks on top of the 32 original (probably some overlap with CTGP-R, but there's some new courses too).
Custom items (triple Fake Item Boxes, and triple Bananas now orbit like in MK8 instead of trailing behind you).
Chaotic mode (you have an equal chance of getting every item, except for thunder clouds at 0% across the board and POW blocks being removed from the 1st place item pool due to being useless).
Blue Shell Showdown (everyone gets a much higher chance of getting blue shells, but 1st place gets dodge items).
Bob-omb Blast (still in progress, but there are plans for custom items, like a Bullet Bill with 3 bombs orbiting it).
Overclock (everything runs at 2x speed).
Time attack (online multiplayer, but it acts like time trials and you can't interact with other players).
It also has Wiimmfi support, just like CTGP-R, and while the custom track quality control is perhaps a bit more relaxed, it's still a really fun time. It's still being worked on (I think), the last update was in August 2020, but v3.0 is planned to have a ton of new stuff (like brake drifting from 8, the aforementioned Bob-omb Bullet Bill, deleting the Blooper in favor of double Bob-ombs, but unfortunately removing overclock and time attack). Finally, courses are sorted alphabetically (outside of the original 32), making it much easier to find what you want.
Ctgp also has an alphabetical sorting system you can choose in the settings, or custom orders you can set yourself.
Then again, Variety pack has super sky courtyard so there's no doubt which is the better pack

If CTGP was impressive for the number of tracks-
Oh boy, Insane Kart Wii has over 2000 TRACKS. Just under 2,500 if you count the original 32 as well. I’m currently a beta tester for the new version as well. Sadly, it doesn’t have many features, but the track number more than makes up for it.

I might have to take a crack a CTGP, it's always coo to see new and creative stuff. Also you mentioned Fortune Street, and much like your bias to Kirby and Bomberman, that makes this video a 10/10.

Beyond CTGP, you could go into:
- specific tracks/creators (SpyKid tracks like Dreamworld Cloudway, Aquadrom Stage are my personal favorite)
- the community for racing (speed trials, clan wars)
- other full-game mods, such as Mario Kart Black (a texture hack) Mario Kart Adventures (I'm biased) or Wimm's Mario Kart Fun
- some of the more wild mods or new features added by modders (sonic running character mod, item rain mode, speedometer )
This video makes me think: anyone have played that "Mario Kart Xtreme" with Mario being decapitated as a game over?

Thanks to you, I've started trying out the CTGP Nitro(waiting til I get off vacation and have access to my Wii U again for that version) and so far it's been fun!
