It'd be amazing if the guys behind Mania could get enough influence to try to reach out and make some of this stuff canon. Like I could easily see some deal come out where if Gaijen meets some quality assurence standards then Sega could compensate them in exchange for putting it up as Mania DLC. There's some really great potential here for fans to benefit doing stuff for the canon franchise and for the franchise to benefit from the work of fans. It just needs to be handled respectfully enough, but it's a neat idea.

For some reason Anthony's frustrated reaction to simply getting a text was really funny to me.
Like you said in the video itself, this was made very early in the life of Sonic Mania. Now that it's been a few years, a sequel to this video talking about more Mania mods (hopefully including "a lot of wacky and crazy stuff", as you put it) seems like it would be in order.

Just saying, for the Labyrinth Zone mod, I’ll be honest, that is actually my favorite level mod so far. The music, the level design isn’t as bullshit as before, and of course the bubble shield.

Roly Considering how big the hacking scene for the classic Sonic games is, it really doesn't surprise me that people so quickly migrated to modding Sonic Mania.
There's also been programs that assist the creators so that people don't have to completely write all new code.

Anthony Rubel That's Project Mirai, and it was the last Miku game on the 3DS
Just learned a couple of days ago they announced a new Hatsune Miku game for the Switch coming out 2020!....in Japan, then hopefully in other territories.
For early mods, it's pretty impressive how quick people work and I can only imagine that the mods will get better over time. That'll certainly be a great thing to see.

There is going to be another dlc, given the fact that theres another arrow and dotted lines on top of the sonic Mania logo, and since before plus was announced there was also and arrow and dotted lines under the logo which got occupied by plus, so there IS going to be another dlc
Anyone know why there is a “Dominos meme” in the hatsuna miku (how do I spell her name), well, it turns out that there was a dominos sponsor with her in it, had an app for it, you can look it up and see what it looks like, btw, it’s cool as well, it includes AR as well!

No to get THAT mod, you have to open Mania on our computer with the Eggman mod installed, plug your computer into a television (note your computer MUST have two HDMI inputs for this to work properly) Find a copy of Sonic Genesis Collection for PS3 (Can't substitute the 360 version and cannot use a PS4 I tried, my room just became a dark lifeless void), put it into the CD drive of a Genesis with the added CD drive, then take a Gameboy Advance SP (A regular gameboy advance won't fit and good luck finding a mini) with Sonic Genesis in the slot and cram that into the cartridge slot of the Genesis (There will be a few crunching sounds and it will resist, just make sure you're grounded and wearing protective glowes and you'll be fine. The fire just means its working) and plug it into an HDMI converter and into one of your computer's HDMI ports, then you have to take a second genesis (with the 32X AND CD drive) and plug it into an HDMI converter and into your computer's OTHER HDMI Input port, and in its cartridge port you need to put 5 copies of Sonic 3 stacked one on top of the other and top it with Sonic & Knuckles and in the CD drive goes Sonic CD, but make sure you put the CD upside down otherwise you'll just summon the dark lord Seh'gah into being. So once you have all of that together, toss your computer and the whole setup into a walkin freezer (This tends to create a lot of heat, you'll thank me. Plus that fire from shoving the SP into the Genesis won't put itself out). Turn on your computer, open Sonic Mania and there you go: You have now unlocked Missingno as a playable character.
Oh you wanted Breakdancing Eggman?... Yeah sorry no way to do that. Also adding Missingno to your game deletes all your saves across all games on all the consoles/PC you plugged together plus anything else attached to your TV (Except the Genesis with the SP shoved into it. That just won't work anymore because you shoved an SP into the cartridge slot).
Oh shit I just realized I told you to stack 5 copies of Sonic 3 and top it with Sonic & Knuckles. You HAVE to do the opposite! Otherwise... Well I guess you can't really read this message if you're in Dark Aether so... I guess that sorted itself out.
Wait I put Sonic two on the Sonic&Knuckles cartridges instead of Sonic three and there’s a portal in the sky and there is black alien things dropping out of it

This video is awesome tho. I need to buy it on pc. Kinda hoping the future model swaps of some Sonic units start to include orginal skills and moves. Like the Amy mod hopefully they give her a hammer and get rid of her ability to go into a ball etc. That'd be really cool.

Sonic CD was originally gonna be Sonic 2 before the actual Sonic 2 came out, so it’s a neat touch.
Fun fact about the modern sonic mod: The boost icon was based on the one from Sonic Rush.
I am from December of 2018, there is a sonic mania mod were shadow has a gun (well tecnicly, the bullets just kind of materialise out of Shadow.)
