Hi guys, I’m the old git (61)who owned this car from 2017 then gave it to my son who then sold it on in 2021ish. Sorry about the paint on the rear bumper ,a rattle can special which is about as good as your wrapping on it. The clutch has always been high and I’m not surprised that it’s gone. I’m amazed the engine is taking the abuse as it was starting to use oil when I had it. It’s brilliant what you are doing , keep it up. I would name it “Lambo slayer” well hopefully. Jim
This channel is brilliant. This is the exact crap DIY that my buddies and I would do when we first got our cars. Bumbling through it like toddlers. Fellas, keep at it. It's so refreshing to watch. Your honesty speaks volumes.

Really looking forward to the rest of this, I have my fingers crossed on the budget build, I recon it’s going to be close either way.
Honestly impressed you guys knocked it out in 24 hours. My first time was doing it outside under trees, so was constantly washing and making sure the prep did it's job. Aside from working on this throughout the week, it took me about 6-8 days to do myself.
@@ruckerT4P if you have rough surfaces I would suggest it for those areas. after laying down the wrap, there were some area by the side skirt that I sanded but not 100% that still showed through. This goes for any dents you may have as well
The first car I wrapped was my uncle's C6 from white to yellow (Avery Dennison)! It was just the two of us and it took us two weeks. Mon-Fri was from 6pm-10pm. Weekends was noon to midnight. It was an incredible experience and I've gone to help wrap more cars with a friend. You guys did great!
Tbh im really surprised how well u handled the wrapping process. It looks amazaing for me, those bad spots doesn't really matter because u did it without a lot of help and that buys me.
I was thinking it would have been funny for the boys to have hired 2 professional auto wrappers to dress up like them and wrap the car. And to act like Scotty was the crazy one.
As a viewer, the car looks pretty good! I would have highly recommended doing a wet install instead of a dry one. It's way easier to get the fitment done, and easier on beginners.
I'm fairly sure that particular kind of material is only intended to be dry applied. I'm not familiar with any Hexis vinyl that is recommended to be installed in any other way; maybe, for windows and glass.
@@mjjjhaney1 Ah good point. Most vinyl that I have messed with can be wet when applied. The main thing is to use very little soap in your water. The more soap, the more risk you will deteriorate the adhesive. I haven’t messed with Hexis either so it may have some special adhesive.
It looks so good! Like you said, prep is king. I think if you had primered and sanded the bumpers first, you might have had an easier time with the wrap. Great job, though!
that looks epic, great job for complete novices at this, at I had a go at a mates wrapping shop, and first thing he taught me is to cold stretch and certainly NOT hot stretch, only use hot stretching for the edges of your panel nevertheless it looks good, certainly considering the limited amount of time you guys spend on it
Mods y'all need to keep this car running: OIL SEPARATOR - the PCV valve on this car is a major weakness and will give you engine-killing knock if you race it too hard. Drinks less oil & runs cooler with oil separator. OIL PUMP - a bit more pressure than stock keeps the inner cylinders lubed in hard turns SCCA guys figured this out the hard way, nerds that read NASIOC like me gotta pass it on!
Lots come to my mind, Race Taxi- Add a roof scoop looking like a taxi sign. Cabaru, Cheese Fingers, Corn Racer, Lemons Prototype(might be already out there 🤭). whoa lots popping into my mind just looking at the yellow wonder. Try yellow wonder too, if the ones earlier don't cut 😎😉
The best part of this video is Callum getting pissed off about the fender and Will is just standing there cradling the fill cap he wrapped like it's his child
this is my favorite series because this is my exact car. I get to have the enjoyment of seeing what mucking about would do to my car without any of the work or consequences.
There's still a lot of room to improve with a cheap price, remove the front bumper bar support, engine plastics covers, A/C, sunroof delete, front splitter, and why don't you upgrade the tire size, what make you think it will beat a Lambo with a 215 size? My Nissan Micra has a 175 tires but its a lot lighter.
You should spray soapy water down first, get it set up and then start heating it. This way you can move it, get the bubbles out and the heat gets rid of the soapy water and activates the glue
Suggestion if you have to do this again-rent a dry ice blaster to blow the paint off parts, remove the rust on the undercarriage, and more, without damaging the underlying structural metal. The tech was developed by the US Navy for stripping paint on ships without damaging the structural metal (unlike sand blasting). Works wonders and doesn't run the risk of these issues. Another would be going over it with an electric buffer & a thick slurry of baking soda+water. Another thing would be using something like the Daimer Industries hot water pressure washer that is designed to super wash the vehicles. Steam cleaning, power washing, etc., can do wonders to prep the surfaces. Another would be additionally using a clay compound "eraser" to *_scrub/polish_* the crap off. Given what you were doing, I'd have stripped the plastic parts to enable proper adhering of the wrap & to save material. :3
next, widen the front tires and lower pressure slightly, and increase rear pressure to make the back end more slidy and the car more responsive, don't do anything to the rear tire width
Call it the "Spoon Subaru" after the component brand, they used a similar colour for their cars. The other one i have is "Boxing Bee" because of the black stickers on the yellow background and assuming this thing has a boxer engine (not 100% sure)
Did Callum just say "I've never seen a Subaru in this colour" then proceeds to pull out the vinyl that's yellow? Callum, yellow has been a colour for the Imprezza for quite a long time already with it being on the ST204 and the recently S207.
I'm on the fence about wrapping my car, versus trying to polish the paint. It's a Ford Flex so considerably bigger, but also much straighter panels with fewer curves. I kinda thought there was more heating and stretching involved in a wrap though.

There's no logic behind how often they post. This was an anime filler episode for sure. Not related to the plot at all lol.
There’s one hidden video in the playlist… do you know which vid that is?
Love the fact the Subaru matches the SLK now
Question is, are they going to spend any of their budget on custom aero too? Long tails work for McLaren so why not a ropey old Subaru estate!
