Welcome to today's video where you saw the renovation of a stapler.
Nowadays, there are different types of staplers that suit different tasks.
And many of you own at least one or more pieces of this helper.
We use them at home, in offices, and whenever we want to join two or more papers.
A stapler is one of the most common tools.
Since the invention of paper, people have been trying to find a way to join paper together.
Almost everything was tried, from wax, to sewing threads or tying with ribbon.
The first functional stapler was invented by George McGill, it was patented in 1867. It came on the market two years later.
At the beginning of the 19th century, staplers were intensively improved by various companies, and sales boomed not only throughout Europe.
And that's all for today's video.

Thank you Veronika and Radek -
Very well done. This piece can grace the most sophisticated office.
Thank you so much :)
That is an Afrikaans name - and a Southern African bird. Lekker dag verder.

Beautiful piece of quarter-sawn oak. Nice restoration!
Thank you so much Guy :)
I know I've said this before, but when I think something is well done, I say it, nicely renovated
Thank you so much my friend :)
Ultrasonic cleaner - nice addition to the shop. I love the gold accent on the black frame, And that wooden base really came out nice - Another great restoration.
Thank you so much Ted :)
Nice job again! This is wonderful! Veronica look Gorgeous again! Thank you!👍💋
Thank you so much Yves :)
Hard to imagine that this was a normal size stapler back in the day…
Now staplers can be small enough to fit in your palm!!!
Awesome job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Samantha :)
This stapler is the kind of thing that will never get old, even if it is almost 100 years old it will still be useful. When dealing with small domestic bureaucracies it is always good to have one of these on the table where the paperwork is kept.
Yes, I agree with that, thanks Carlos :)
So many parts for just one task...
😲
Crazy to see that there are still staples available that fit into this thing!
How many 100 year old things would work like this today?
Great job as always, thanks for showing!
👍👍👍
Thanks for watching Horst :)
yay! another vid. Thank You!! 💚
Thank you so much :)
Loved the restoration but I loved the filming even more. The closeups were excellent and clear, Radek. Loved the bit with the ultrasonic cleaner too! Veronica once again a great and concise explanation of the device and a good demo at the end. Thanks to you both for another entertaining video. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you for the beautiful and encouraging words Vickie. Hugs :)
Beautiful piece. Who knew there were so many pieces to a stapler. Fantastic job!
Thank you so much Barbara :)
Now this is a stapler built to work and to last - not many of those around today! Nice and heavy so you don't need to hit on it hard and then not have it go through more than 4 papers!
Yes, to my surprise, it works quite easily compared to today's new staplers.
Not only is it a beautifully restored machine, it is very impressive to see it staple many layers of paper.
Yes, surprisingly it works quite easily. Thanks for watching :)
I have a stapler that uses a reel of brass wire. It cuts & places a single staple when you push down on the handle. There are no loose staples to jam the stapler. You have staples as long as there is wire on the reel. It's quite a handy stapler to have. 😊
Wow, that's the first time I've heard that. That must be a great stapler :)
Beautiful restoration again my friend. That's the 1st of those staplers that I have ever seen. Until next time. Sending massive love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you for the kind words Andy . Hugs :)
Excellent restoration 👍👍👍Thank you for sharing. Be safe🇨🇦
Thank you so much :)
Beautiful restoration job you did on that unique vintage stapler. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work as usual.
Thank you very much for the kind words :)
Abrazos :)
Good morning from Southeast South Dakota
Good morning from Czechia :)
When one looks at your work I don't think they see something that has been restored, rather something that is brand new. And as always the history lesson is much appreciated.
Thanks :)
Ahhh a new toy. Put everything in the cleaner! Yeah I did the same with a small one for just jewlery as it worked SOOO well. LOL
What a lovely machine 😊. And a great job giving it a new lease of life with a shiny fresh finish 👏👏👏. Good call using stickers where you needed to bud 👍. Those original paint markings were quite intricately detailed. That'll be so much more satisfying to use than any of today's cheap plastic nonsense. Thanks man 🙏. 😎
Thanks my friend for the beautiful and encouraging words :)
Wow! That is an impressive stapler... (^.^)
Always a joy to see a Veradona video, just makes life better. And nice new toy! The ultrasonic cleaner is pretty sweet...
OF course, always love to see Veronika explaining the device and a bit of its' history, very cool.
Thanks (as always;) for posting!
Thanks Dee for the encouraging words and views. Hugs for you :)
I just love when restorers do office equipment… and kitchen stuff!
I'm glad, thank you Vickie :)
Nice rebuild.
Watching all your tools getting cleaned was quite satisfying.
I'm glad, thank you :)
Your improvised sand tumbler was brilliant! I'm gonna steal that design for my toolbox.
👉👍😉😎
Nice restoration on that old heavy duty well built stapler, we don't build them like thst anymore.
Thank you so much Larry :)
Fantastic restoration as always. As usual love the fact you include history lessons. Your videos are always very satisfying, relaxing, and informative. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the lovely and encouraging comment :)
Wonderful. Beautiful restoration of the stapler, but the pierce de resistance for me is the baseboard, final finish of that truly outstanding. Excellent piece to camera at the end.
Thank you so much my friend :)
Excellent restoration folks!..it could go to a museum!
Thank you. Yes, it is the property of the museum :)
Radek and Veronica, congratulations on the beautiful restoration, this stapler is certainly much better today than the day it was manufactured.
Once again congratulations, a hug.
Yes I agree with you Jose Luiz, today's products are not made forever like they used to be... Thanks for watching my friend :)
Your bench grinder just called & wants to know when you’re gonna show some love & restore him too💁🏼♀️
Um, and he won't call me... Lol
Wonderful restoration Radek, as usual! That is a beautiful and useful tool again now. Well done to both of you. I really like your new Ultrasonic Cleaner as well.
Thank you so much Nick, I hope you are all well?! Hugs :) R&V

An interesting variation from the kitchen to the office, with this one. But still the same superb quality of workmanship. And Veronika's demonstration and information, never ceases to amaze me. A very knowledgeable lady. Thank you both !

Only you would french polish the wood base to a stapler.... WOW true detication to perfection
Thank you so much Robert :)
A unique vantage stapler restoration you did i am very much enjoy and increase my knowledge.❤
That was well done, I was amazed at how many parts it had.
I'm glad, thank you :)
wow that is a delicious asmr stapler. a lot stronger than the small office one Ihave. Once again a beautiful and informative project. Thank you.
Thank you so much :)
Nice shellac work - like the old days. I only miss the dash of linseed oil (that might have made the wood even more shiny?). Kind regards.
A drop of linseed oil is added to the shellac just so that the application does not stick, the oil is gradually omitted so that the shellac is smooth and perfectly shiny :)
What a wonderful job you did. I love looking at these videos and your wifes too. I lost a friend i knew for almost 50 years. She got bloodcancer, its tough to know she's not here anymore. So i look at these videos as often i can ❤❤. Thank you so much. Take care of each other 🥰
We are very sorry.😥We are here for you if you want to chat 🙂
Thank you so much. As it is now your videos makes me feel a little better makes me feel of something else. A big hug to both of you 🥰🥰.

That is an old one, for sure. Nice job.
Thank you Stephen :)
Looks like the original finish was japaning - was hoping to see you try that process ala Hand Tool Rescue.
Muchas gracias Prueba :)
An amazing machine. This stapler probably cost the same or more than the weekly wages of the office worker who used it. However it is very sturdy. Able to go through a lot more paper than my handheld 24/6 stapler can. Keep up the great restoration work!
Yes, that is quite possible. Thank you for watching :)
great, now i want an old stapler.
😀👉👍😉
This was a great restoration!! I’m really glad to see you did the original paint style and didn’t use that horrible faux antique brass finishing… I’ve seen many beautiful restoration pieces taken down a few notches by the use of that horrible faux antique brass finish.
Thank you so much :)
You’ve liked one of my past suggestions, so I’ll try another… the poly-paint filler stuff. well, I think I’d get a piece of scrap and try this… mix and filler and hardener just as you’ve done, then I’d put a blob on as you have…but I’d use my gloved finger to press it in as well as smooth it into the less than straight areas.
Thank you Elizabeth :)
Very well done! A handsome instrument!
Thank you so much :)
Well done I liked your restoration, always do thanks for sharing.
We are very happy, thank you :)
Excellent video. Was wondering about staples. Thank you! Be safe.
Thank you so much :)
Wonderfully done! Amazing the simplest things today that break so easily cheaply made and you show how they used to be, made with pride, made to last Beautiful and elegant in their design! Watching you restore this wonder I had a wonderful thought, Have you ever considered opening up like a museum , so hard to explain, but here we have like colonial days and shops and mini towns set up to look like that time era, something people can walk through and see the life about machine and objects used in that time. It would be so special for school children to see and learn from. love your new sonic cleaner!
Thanks for the idea Debra, yes we thought of that too but unfortunately we are short on space and live near downtown. And in addition, roughly half of the things I renovate on video are from customers. Have a nice day. Hugs :)
I hear you there, In the city I live it is a old building well there are a few abandoned or decaying ones that are historical and some I have found were owned by distant relatives, anyways One in pedicular I have written and sent emails to the city council, I think it would make a great historical museum, there are a lot of old architectural element in it and on the outside, I only got a letter saying they will be looking into it. It just seems like a great idea for what you do and for these old buildings here. ahh maybe it's a pipe dream but I could see a place set up there Like all your old shop items, like a general store, the weights, scales, coffee grinders and candy press . It sure paints the idea of a old time shop, I guess I am just nostalgic at heart. I wish you both all the best and I thank you for all you do to preserve such rich history! It is a pleasure to watch you! @@VeradonaRestoration
Yes, that would be nice. Just yesterday I had a customer here who fell in love with the old grinders and said that he had an idea to open a coffee bar and display all his grinders there. I've already visited something similar and it's really beautiful. Hugs for you :)@@debrabrooks6138
Sounds great! I hope the best for you "hugs" :)

In your ultrasonic cleaner, you might want to add something like Simple Green or ZAP to the water. Cleans much better than just water. :)
Yes of course. I had it already mixed in water. Thank you
A beautiful job you have done again Radek. I’m sure the stapler looks better than new now.
Good to see Veronika and you are well.
Many thanks to our friend :)
